This journey is a homage to our community of music lovers and DIY dance party missionaries. What surprised me most is how Luso-African music was represented in this set. We have a song from Cape Verde and two from Guinea Bissau. I didn't know who Pellegrin El Kady was, but I loved "Seiva de Carnaval" and perfectly imagined that this beat could be easily danced in a samba-rock party as people here in São Paulo would dance "Check My Machine" (Paul McCartney) or "Beautiful Morning" (Hardage) using the very same set of steps and spins used to dance "Mas Que Nada' (Sérgio Mendes) or "Take It Easy My Brother Charles" (Jorge Ben).
