Thank you NSK for this in depth presentation of ballscrew aligment. 11:23, got me fooled into thinking it is in 1 micron, but actually guage isn't touching mount.
😂
😂
A whole lot of thanks. This clearly specified the check points, a few os which we were forgetting during the change.❤
i love that luxurious CNC parts, it's must be extremely accuracy
I don't see how it's luxurious, it's either in or out of tolerance
.
Looking at this standing next to my 3018 mini cnc with T8 lead screws 😂😂😂😂😂
Its a really nice video. what kind of measurement that you used to measure the driving torque?
Who manufacturers that torque measurement device?
I work, assembled machines with the same structure, only they have, a tank between the rails. My problem has been aligning the rails on each side, to ensure parallelism and squareness. The rails are located at a distance of 3 meters from each other. Do you know any technical and effective alignment system. Well, I do it empirically with a tensioned steel wire.
I like this video very much. Is there a motor installation video?
Wipe the surface with the uncovered hand, apply some oil to stop corrosion which loves to start where surfaces meet.
When we talk about extreme engineering! Very nice! :-)

Dat micrometer staying still got me...
Thank you very much for making this video. it was very helpful for my work. Please make more videos from now on
The surfaces of these pieces are not grinding? centering settings are okay, but why do you look for the flatness?
I wish I could afford this conversion for my mill. 😞
We produce high temperature resistant all-metal linear guide blocks
WOW ball screw passion!
senang sekali ada manual bahasa indonesianya, tapi beli produknya dimana diindonesia ya...
In this design alignment of assembly is very much dependent on bolts and I don't like it. I prefer a dowel pin based design or resting faces with compression push type design
*_-I had a wet dream about this-_*
I have reality about this
Thank's for translating
Sorry ! I discover 11:03-11:23 dial indicator measurement and calibration not vertical no touch
Hi from where can buy that in Algeria
We make one scissor lift use ball screw but it up nd down that time ball screw make noises. What will be reaon
Please confirm the cost for the same .I m also in que to purchase the same . Waiting your reply.

Really thank you very much,
As perfect as it could be.
Well done very useful

At 4:15 he touched the dial indicator leg which may affect the accuracy
It's inaccurate to use an indicator at an angle like that anyway. You want the tip of the indicator as parallel with the surface as possible
@@damiendeline4632 but he just needs it to be 0 in both cases... so the angle doesn't matter, as long as it is the same on both sides...
@@damiendeline4632 actually it is most accurate at a set degree, I think it's around 15 degrees but don't quote me on that number.
What is that device used for measuring the drive torque at 8:55??
I guess it's an older style of torque wrench, where a springy piece is bent while applying torque and you read it on the scale.
I see, it seens to be a pretty nice way to have an estimative... can't find one to buy :/
Often called a 'deflection beam' torque wrench.
Canadian Tire has some, but a little bit bigger.
You can use any hand scale. Common sense tells me so.
Hi everybody I am gonna ask a question; What is the name of the measurement in at 8:58 ? Does anyone knows?
They're measuring torque required to turn ball screw
@@danielwolfe8 , who manufacturers that instrument, i can't find that specific one anywhere?
Its very good mathod for training

Excelent....!!!!
does anybody know the name of the first song?
he failed to make all the parts flush before tightening hope its not re finished

a new attempt of writing subtitle on right time
thanks mister
Kaise fit karte Hain
14:24 too long linear rails it never use right side end.cut them of and sell it cheaper or desing table so it go over longer travel ask more money with same used metal lol
huh?
I want that on my next mini mill
Joke?
@ 10:45 seconds the angle on that test indicator is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. How could NSK even produce that, hard to believe anything in this video after watching that
For what?
OK
4:44 - fuck, he hold the measurement tool by hand!!! This is so amateur, because he will crook the tool and measurements will be not correct.
Triggered out 👏
you're right he should have move the ball screw nut to one the end so he can measure the DTI along the length of the ball screw out disturb the DTI.
imagine I prepare a cake then when I finish I didnt show you how it looks like..
That's not an actual motor, is it?
no! just a dummy piece for some reason :(
I thought the motor looked a bit small.

There is never good work , when you use shims. The right way was scratching and measurment and scratching and measurment....
There is also the difference in hours and hours versus 2 minutes of work. Shims aren't ideal, but they're plenty good enough.
When you are building a machine that is selling for close to a million dollars, shims are not good enough. I machine one block to print and leave .010 on the mounting surface of the other one or 2 blocks. Test fit, measure and grind till the fit is perfect. It only takes an extra 2 hours or so per axis.
If you have the capability to finish grind, that's the way to go. A perfectly ground surface will obviously increase rigidity over shimming a fit.
It seems to me this video is aimed towards companies that build machines on an assembly line that aren't anywhere near a million dollars. For them, NSK offers a bolt-in solution that's quick and easy to align.
In a perfect world you wouldn't need shims but this is the real world and there's a good chance you will need them and also at some point you will so this is partial in terms of cost and practical accuracy ... there is no point trying to get a spindle to with 0.002mm when a lathe isn't going to be doing stuff like that but 0.007 will so shimming is the only way to fix that without pulling it all apart and sent off to get worked on... Had technicians work on a Victor lathe that was new and it was a little out as the U-drilling on that machine was strange so digital stethoscopes and so some tighting and smacks and turning the spindle brake down a hair fixed it ..went from 0.009mm to 0.006mm out and was considered good without pulling the machine out and in less than 3 hours...
very good

good, interesting video with annoying music
I prefer dowel pin alignment.
Why?
@@blacksimpson Because dowel pin holes can be drilled with your CNC machine and are as accurate as your machine and your machining skill. Then you can assemble and disassemble the parts and know that they are going back in the same place. I don't like the process of measurement, adjustment, and bolt tightening, compared to just cleaning all the surfaces and letting the dowel pins handle the positioning before tightening.

10:45 You could get massive cosine error from that
Great presentation nonetheless
Hi, can you explain please ?
if you plan to center that hole to the ballscrew, yes that is the wrong method.
But he use that method to adjust the height between right and left ballscrew support (see he add shim to add height 11:11). Do you think that NSK engineering is that stupid LOL.
That operation wasn't to center the support bore to the ballscrew. It was to get the bore of the support parallel to the bore of the ball screw.
The centering of the support bore to the ball screw happens later at 11:41
I think the point that 404BYTE was trying to make was, anybody who uses an indicator knows that the set-up shown is horrible. If some engineer set up that indicator, yes they are stupid.
The shown setup does get cosine error, but that's irrelevant. The technician aims to get the needle to stay on 0 the whole way around.
If you're concerned with real errors, how about gravity? To correctly inspect anything with an indicator attached to a spindle, the spindle should be vertical to even out the gravitational pull over the rotation. Depending on the setup this can make a couple of microns of difference.
On a horizontal spindle the indicator (and the arm that holds it) will be pulled in opposite directions when it's in the upwards or downwards positions.
