Absolutely side-splittingly hilarious for the viewer / super tuba=😀 but sympathy for BDog! Fluffed chips followed by thinned ones isn't fun. :( However he is a BAUS and now he won't let it get to him.. ) BDog's first 2 long putts on 17 both had a chance !😊 Never up , never in! Most earlier ones missed short !
So what clicked for me was two fold, getting rid of my slice/push by coming in to out in my swing and also consistently bottoming out after the ball giving me much better compression. Now I'm a single digit handicapper and having the best time of my life playing the sport I love.
The way of the playa is the way. A couple months ago, I was so frustrated playing golf that I quit keeping score which means I stopped practicing. And yet a couple shanky wankies into the wilderness was still usually followed with a 7 iron being thrown across the course in anger. (Ego was strong with this one) After finding this channel, I started using strategy on the course, simplified my game, and started *enjoying* the sport again which meant I started practicing again. I used to consider myself lucky to break 100. Well today, I sank the final putt on 18, entered my score and saw a glorious, voluptuous **89** staring back at me. Oh happy day! Thank you soooo much for all the positive energy, empowerment, and straight-up sound advice you put into these videos. I've never enjoyed golf this much, and it's thanks to you.
So I hope you see this comment: I have watched so many of your videos recently and I’ve taken a lot from the mental/course management tips and transferred it to my game. It’s made a big difference. As a result, I shot my best ever score at my home course today (+11) and nearly broke 80 for the first time. Thank you for your amazing content and keep it up. You are helping so many golfers. All the best
What Clicked for me was your channel and the supreme importance of Golf Course Management.. Going to smash 100 regularly, then onto 90. Easy Life Playa!
My short game clicked for me. I broke 100 when I learned to putt better, I broke 90 when I learned to chip better, and now I'm on my journey to breaking 80. I am the most comfortable on the course with a wedge in my hand, and that really changed the way I play my game. My goal is to break 80 by the end of the summer.
I've been watching your videos for about 2 months. I am in Sydney, Australia and we have been lucky enough to be able to play golf through the 4 months (so far) of lockdown.. This is a bit long, but I feel the need to express my appreciation and respect for you and your channel. I have been playing social golf for around 18 months, it's something I started to do because I could play on my own and take my focus off the world. I then got the taste of golfs addiction. Prior to finding your video's, I had been slicing driver, duffing my irons, thinning my wedges and 3putting all over the place! It dawned on me after 3 or 4 of your video's (in 1 day) that my mental game was non-existent.. I literally removed my driver and woods from my golf bag, leaving irons and my putter... I was constantly shooting rounds in the high 90's even up to 107 prior to this.. Then my mental game became priority... Ok, Aaron, remove your 3 putts.. so I did, taking my average 3 putts per round from 9-10 down to 4-5 winner! OK, Aaron, irons only for the next 3 months.. More fairways hit! (halfway though the 3 months) After trialling this, I have been playing this way for 6 weeks and not one round over 94 and you got me to break 90! besting with an 87.. Twice! Now I feel ready to buy a membership and try out some weekend competition golf. I now have the confidence to hit my irons more consistently and keeping those 3 putts to a minimum, this has given me a new focus at the driving range... Driver. Which is improving after a video I watched of you getting a lesson & talking through your shots. So, thank you for your honesty and completely unique way of looking at an amateur golfers game. Regards, One massive fan.
For the last ~3 years, I've been chasing an even par round. About a week ago, after complaining about my recent 'pull' or slice with my iron, a friend said to check my should alignment. Shoulder alignment? IDGAF about that, or at least I didn't. I realize my shoulders were aiming about 20 yards left on every shot... 2 rounds later, I shot an even 73 at my home course. -1 coming into 18 (easy par 5). Perfect drive, horrible second shot, punch out, chip and 2 putt for the bogey. Ouch. Shoutout to my friend for that hot tip, playa's don't forgot to check you PGA (posture, grip, and alignment)!
^^This. Check where your feet are pointing and put the club in front of your shoulders to quickly check where they are pointing. I have had exactly same issue and during club championships last weekend for example hit perfect drive on hole 9 but he was aligning to the woods instead of the fairway. So pointless misses.
Like you’ve said many times… what’s clicked for me was not getting frustrated every time I didn’t hit the ball perfectly and realizing I’m not shooting for the PGA rather I’m shooting to have a good time and to relax! And literally after having that mind set my whole stance and pre shot mindset has loosened up and believe it or not my swing has become better and more consistent just because of a change in mindset…. Thx for all ur tips bro! 👍🏼
I finally got the courage to play with golfers far beyond my own level! My best rounds to date are from those occasions and I learned that I don’t need to look down on my own game.
What clicked for me watching your videos on how to break 90, was it had nothing to do with my golf swing or changing anything about my swing. Its all about the way you think about which club to use, where to aim. Then committing to that shot so that your brain and body respond appropriately. It absolutely worked for me. THANK YOU!!!!!!!! (my golf buddies don't thank you - cha ching)
Took a while for me to start accepting that my par was 90 & not 72. Surprisingly, I started shooting ~90 (at times below) almost every time out & more importantly, I am able to enjoy playing golf even when things don't go right for a hole or two (or more). So a big thanks to you @Golf Sidekick!
Breaking the barrier for me was a multi step process. First was skipping a few rounds of golf to get lessons and practice on the range to learn the carry distances. Second was changing my mindset on the course; I constantly expected myself to hit perfect shot after perfect shot when I don't practice nearly enough to have such lofty expectations. I am now better in control of my mindset on the course and while I still get frustrated from time to time, I no longer express it on the course and ruin the round for the rest of the group. I reset by telling myself "Golf is hard", get a good laugh out of the last shot and move on to the next one.
Picked up golf with a hand-me-down set of clubs this year. Scores of my first three rounds ever were 135, 114, 116. Watched your breaking 100 series and became a worshipper of the 8 iron for everything between 130-250 yards. Shot 102 last week on my fourth round ever. Pumped as ever to continue to improve and become a smarter golfer.
The pre-shot routine has changed my game. Determine the shot and target in the thinking zone and then once I cross the threshold to address the ball, I stay committed. I’ve made shitty shots and one the next one I stick with the routine, take a deep breath, and it’s helped to avoid the doubt of a shit follow up shot. Ive also been listening to zen-type books and meditating almost daily. This has helped me to accept that shots will go awry and it’s ok. Just like in life, we can always plan for everything and accepting what “is” actually reduces stress and ego. But for real bruh, your advice is straight authentic and doesn’t carry all of that fluff bullshit to get views. You deliver the real deal and I respect that. If you ever hit up Northeast US, let me know. It’d be the hell of a time!
I really enjoyed the commentary on "the scrambler" and being reactive. That's totally me... I shoot for bogey, lack confidence and don't ever believe I can get it on to attack. Thanks for referring me to your 80 video... will check that out playa!
What clicked for me was not to hit any club to get close to the green but hit clubs I know im better hitting and get to distances i like rather then distances that im not good at. Went from 120 to breaking 90 in 2 months. Now trying to stay in to break 80 and staying consistent, Thank you again watching your videos really helps breakdown the course and understand my game better
What clicked for me was… clicking on a suggested video on UA-cam. I was fully immersed in the spiral of UA-cam tutorials on swing fixes. One day, after a terrible round of golf, I was rage searching UA-cam to get my next “fix” (literal and figurative) when I clicked on the video about Brian’s UA-cam spiral. I unsubscribed to all other golf lesson content, went and got lessons, and followed the way of the Playa from then on. Been breaking barriers and loving life since. No more wasting three hours of my “relaxing” time being frustrated the whole time.
Until about 5 years ago, I was a 90s player. Now I’m a high 70s -low 80s player. The thing that clicked for me to make that improvement was dialing in my carry distances from 150 yds and shorter. That gave me confidence to attack holes when possible, and knowing you can get up and down from 150 and shorter allows you to play with less stress and improve other areas of game too.
So far what's clicked has been the "subscribe" button and here and there the "like" button... :) also your advice of leaving yourself your favorite club into the green has been a gamechanger.
So I've been golfing for going on 4 years I just started taking it seriously this past year. I've gone from consistently scoring in the 100s to consistently scoring in the high to mid 80s. Watching your videos has really helped me. Just been practicing and keeping a level head on the course.
What clicked for me was focusing on up and downs. Never had a great short game so I went out 3-4 times per week to work on it with a plan in mind and practiced with purpose. Broke 80 this year and doing it more consistently since. Waddalife!
what clicked for me was a go to tee club and then a chip shot to within 6-5 ft of the cup...that of course was knowing which way the type of grass was growing on the green determined high spin shot or bump and run. Your videos on chipping and pitching were invaluable!
This channel helped me the most and The two biggest pieces of advice have been, planning from the back of the hole and listening for the rattle. Started golf in May and finally broke 100 with those 2 tips. Thank you playa!
What clicked for me was something you said in another video- work on the technicalities at the range…have fun on the course. And as you continue working at the range, those two will eventually intersect without over analyzing everything on the course.
Love the B-Dog videos, I've been following along and went from breaking 90 once last year, to breaking 90 multiple times this year and pushing towards 80. Super cool to see B-Dog leading the charge of high-handicappers shaving strokes!
And because of this channel, I focus on the ideal shot distance into the green, this has made a huge difference and has proved beyond doubt that driver is not my default T box club
I changed my home course. Went from high 90's/100's to mid to low 80's without changing anything else. My new home course has a higher slope rating but more variety in the holes especially the Par 3's. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery.
I'm happy for Bdawg. His contact is so solid now. Great improvement, no doubt thanks to good teaching, hard work, and incredible fashion sense (waddashirt!). Looking good bros.
This video is awesome. It was great watching someone play I can relate too. I myself am working on braking 90. I am so looking forward to more of these. It has given me ideas on how to p,any smarter. Thank you 🙏
It clicked for me just yesterday in Round 4 of the club championships, after hitting one of my worst scores ever and feeling so crap I that I felt like walking off the day before, and that is staying committed to the shot. I hear you saying it all the time Baus, but I never understood what staying committed really meant until yesterday - its definitely a Zen thing. What a game changer! Going from NAGA on Saturday to B grade winner and runner-up overall on Sunday is proof in the pudding.Girl did I hit some great shots.
What clicked for me is what advice I'm giving my son who just made the school golf team. 1) STOP WORRYING ABOUT DISTANCE, like the wise sage says, play back from your favorite green side shot. If that means keeping the driver in the bag, let her sleep. 2) LET THE CLUB DO THE WORK. Too much mental/physical effort = too many opportunities to screw it up. 3) FIX. IT. ON THE. NEXT. SHOT. You WILL miss hit, you WILL recover on the next shot. ❤️ Keep 'em coming playa. Best golf channel on the interwebs.
What clicked for me? You did playa...you did. Broke a long standing goal of 90 and I'm on the journey to breaking 80 like B-Dog, 84 being my best and the target is in sight. I'm now confident, rather than saying I'll never be that decent. I realised that I'm actually a playa. Thanks Broski 😘
Not getting frustrated, enjoying it as a game or sport and not taking myself too seriously. I enjoyed the game more, enjoyed playing with others and made more friends.
I broke my barrier by reading Every Shot Must Have a Purpose and being consistent with my preshot routine. Game changer Playa. Good recommended reading from one of your earlier videos!
Matt, love love love these new graphic comparisons. So helpful! My breakthrough for breaking 100 was 100% leaving the big dawg at home and learning how to convert on up and downs and lag putt I had zero GIRs the other day, but 7 up and downs with 27 putts. Even with horrific ball-striking I can still break 100 because of the bump and run and putt combo.
Trying to break 85 and it's 100% about the game inside of PW distance, the wedges and the lag putting need more than a little bit of work, but we'll get there! Can't wait to see this man break 80.
I’d say what clicked for me was focusing on my follow through and initial aim with my swing. I started playing golf about a year ago and I went from shooting 120 on the course to mid-low 90’s in this time. Watched UA-camrs such as yourself and have gained knowledge I didn’t have before :). Just shot 93 on the course today thanks playa
Destroyed 90 this weekend! Shot an 86. So much WOTP: - GIOTG - Punch shots instead of hero shots - A sensual relationship w/ my wedges - More time practicing putting What really clicked though was embracing the fade. It's my natural shot shape and when I play for it, my misses are so much better.
WaddaBDog. Ps Thanks Matt for the Pillow Fight and Cosmic Energy waddaplaya polos. They are top drawer and ready for our next round as they arrived in time 👍🏽
It's awesome watching videos of players that on par (no pun intended LOL) with my game. And believe it or not as they improve I also do by following your same suggestions. Of course consistency is needed which has also helped. At the 18:47 mark I was literally 6 inches from my screen intensely guessing where B-Dog was going and then I heard the tuba!!! LOL.....I had to pause and cover my mouth to not laugh loud since my wife was sleeping and if woken up it would've gotten really bad since she told me to go to bed a long time ago.......
It clicked when I started trying to get the ball in the hole with as few strokes as possible, not caring about expected use of club. For me that meant not using driver where hazards where in play and no club under 50°. Also LOTS of chips with the wonderful 7i 🦾
Yo, you’re onto something with the “shaving strokes” mindset. 2 months ago I was shooting around 100, give or take some strokes, I just shot an 88 this weekend on a course I’ve only played twice just by changing my thought process during the round.
Pitching practice is what finally helped me break 80. Now, if I'm inside 70yds, I pitch to within 10ft more often than not. I finally have several birdie opportunities in a round vs hoping to 2-putt for par from 60ft. That's what clicked for me.
My clickage moment is playing stress-free golf, especially when you continually say that we need to play from the hole back to the tee. I realized that I didn't always need to try and hit it as far as possible (leading to sometimes BAD results) and I could hit to a comfortable distance for the next shot. Thank you, Playa-in-Chief!
What clicked for me to break the barrier: realizing that automatically trying every single shot to get it as close to the pin as I possibly can is not the way to go! I learned this mainly from your videos really, and it has helped my game a lot. Smart course management = stress free golf playas!
Me wedge game clicked in around the greens. Learned how to keep my weight distributed properly for good contact and proper spin control. I also went to the clock method inside 80 yards which gave me exact carry distances every time. Went from 80s to 70s real quick after that.
I feel like I'm right on the cusp of breaking 90. I'll end up with one hole I blow up on. My putting has been great, averaging less that 2 per hole. I find I'm having to take an extra stroke to get on the green. My approach shots are usually with a 6-8 iron and I end up just off the green somewhere. I'm working on managing the course better, and working on developing my drive to gain a bit more distance and consistency to hopefully get those second shots into the 9i and down range. I've loved watching your videos. I've learned so much about strategy, taking your medicine, making the smart play and not compounding the mistakes. I will break 90 soon!
Before this summer I may have played 8 rounds of golf in my life. The first time I counted score this summer I shot 108. I have been focusing on the short game and getting playable tee shots. Just the other day I shot a 47-43 as my personal best. I think the biggest help has been mental. Choosing my shot and having 100 confidence.
He has a lot of right to left stoke on his putter. You can see it at 18:10, I wonder if a blade would be more forgiving for his arc, or just have him practice more with his mallet, but get better with the straight back, straight through? Great to see him making improvements all around! I've been planting my feathers, and they are getting closer, playas will out tomorrow! I'm so glad to see you focusing on the mental game, it's been great to absorb it for the last couple years.
Tip that worked for me by far was not counting score to break barrier. Trying to break 100 and i just kept playing with a great attitude and confidence, every shot was mine to OWN, and i broke 102 with a 91 :) wtb divot tool :D
The biggest thing that clicked for me was playing safe shots. Not necessarily aiming for the safe areas or laying up, but picking clubs i was super comfortable with, and clubbing up more often than not. Clubbing up means I can hit easier, smooth shots that would tend to go straighter than the shots I tried to crush and ended up shanking. Learning to play for my B-game instead of my A-game did wonders to lowering my score.
Fixed my swing with the driver and immediately saved 6 shots per round and got dialed in on the wedge distances with certain swings like a 50% and a 75% etc.
Not going to lie brother, but your videos of playing stress free golf were my barrier breaker! I can't tell you how much cleaner my game is becoming. My average went from around 95 last year to an 89 this year! Course ratings/slopes average from 66.4/111 to 69.6/123
What clicked for me was relax. Not just my left shoulder while swinging, but relax about not hitting driver, or any specific club, as far compared to others in the group. And relax about the bad shots, recognize that they happen, but just take the shot you currently have. Not only has this helped my score, but also the joy in playing.
For me, it was planning my shot into the green. I learned I was very confident with my short irons, so I should plan my hole so my shot into the green is at the perfect distance to hit a full swing on a short iron.

i'm not sure how much of this gets read. but my breakthrough was super super super simple, and i feel that a lot of people could benefit from it. i changed the makeup of my long clubs. i'm not someone who will ever say that clubs are the key to scoring because they emphatically aren't, at least from the perspective of brand and shaft etc. what made it for me was getting rid of lower lofted fairways, and replacing them with hybrids. i used to think that your bag needed to look like driver, 3/4 wood, 3/4 hybrid, 4 iron-pw but that 3/4 wood was useless for me. i changed to a 2 hybrid, 7 wood, and 5 hybrid, then 4-pw. i carry one less wedge now which has caused ZERO issue for me, and now i have four clubs that i LOVE off the tee. regardless of the hole, i have a good friend to hit being in love with your equipment makes golf so much easier, and being in love with four different clubs off the tee has freed my game up so much it's nearly unbelievable. the requirement of sound mind can start with your equipment. you MUST LOVE what you're holding. this love gives you more success. conventions be damned, find what you love, and fill your bag with it. then feel the love while you play.
@@GolfSidekick you're a king Matty. I'm watching this video now. Have a waddaplaya cover on my 7 wood (the greatest club in existence) and just shot a killer 71 at my local. All is good my man. You're so appreciated.
Two years ago I was trying to get to even par or even under par and I finally did it because of a few things. One was hitting 2/3rds of greens in reg. Two was good wedge play under 100 yards. Lastly was getting up and down a majority of the time when I missed the green.
tip that helped me break my barriers (100 then 90) was resetting my mindset. i’m not a pga pro, ima bauussssss. be happy with bogeys and know DBs are okay from time to time too. resetting a bogey as a par helped a ton to free my swing up and not get stiff or negative for the next shot
What clicked for me is that if I swing smooth and fully commit to how I want to hit the golf ball, it will usually be in a great position for me to score. Looking at all the options/misses is crucial to scoring well. Also taking my time on the green helps a ton.
I've broken 80 six times this year so far and my handicap has dropped to 7.4. I think my biggest revelation this year has been to take more club and take an easier (75-80%) swing on my approach shots. I'm also chipping better but most of the time I break 80 I'm hitting a lot of greens. Last week I shot an easy 76 and bogeyed the 2 easiest holes due to lack of concentration. On one of them, it was the 17th hole and I was hot and tired. I needed a different club but left my clubs over by the next tee box and didn't want to walk over to get it. So, lack of commitment = bad shot = bogey. BTW, my kids gave me one of your bucket hats for my Birthday and it was a big hit at our club. I'm turning them all on to "waddaplaya".
Two things ckicked for me. 1. I started playing the same 3 courses over and over and got to know every inch of them. 2. I finally got beyond what you said early on in the round: my comfort zone was defensive, 90+ golf. I broke thru that and started to believe that I could come back from bad shots and still make par or bogie instead of always resigning myself to double and triple bogie. I went from breaking 90 once or twice a season to doing it about 70% of the time.
The following things led to me breaking 80 for the first time (in order of importance): 1. Joining a club...which led to playing the same course about 3 times a week, 2. Following the Way of the Playa (watching and learning from Matt)...mainly attitude/perspective (accepting bad shots, staying calm, and moving on) but also smarter course management and shot/club selection, 3. Buying a new (used) driver...which added significant distance off the tee, leaving me with shorter irons into the greens 4. Finally buying a sand wedge and learning how to hit bunker shots (went from scared to confident on green side bunker shots)
I have a background from multiple different sports that require hand eye coordination so my strength in golf have always been short game and those feel shots. So breaking the 80 barrier for me was to do everything I could to keep the tee shot in the play. When I can do that, I almost always break 80.
Broke 90 for the first time today! Shot an 89 (could've had 86 but tripled the last hole w/ a penalty in the water), lowest was a 93 previously. This video popped up a few hours breaking 90 and was answering my question of "what's my game plan for breaking 80?" Going to start dialing in my short game now, thanks for the advice!
I'll comment before I finish the video. My game and his are about the same. I've been trying a lot of the stuff he is, with the exception of wedges(I suck with wedges). But I'm getting pretty damn good with the bump and run with the 9. 91 without wedges yesterday. Best I scored yet....I just use a 60 to get over stuff close to the green. What clicked for me to break 100: Dont try and use all the clubs, just use the ones you're more confident with.
DUDE.... i mean thats really the only thing i can say... you had so many tips here i think need to either take notes or watch it 10 times. .... love the vid. my goal is consistent 85 so i can go take on Pebble Beach... consistant 86-92. which thats not all that consistant... but i plan on shaving 3 strokes after this vid
Some option for driver from the tees would be also good. He hit the 4 iron so good that some driving iron would be great (21 or 19 deg) or fairway wood.
I play a different sport (cricket), but what finally clicked for me in that sport was mental forgiveness. It's so easy to beat yourself up if you bowl a bad ball or play a bad shot. But the process of "beating yourself up" for it completely stuffs up your mental composure. And then you'll definitely play another bad shot. Put the negative self talk away, be kind to yourself, forget the thing you just did and focus on the next thing you have to do. Patience and mental resilience equals a calm mind. Calm mind equals focus. Focus equals more fun. Focus and fun equals playing like a baus, in any sport.
Bought a 2 iron - I only lose 20-30m off the tee, even mishits are mostly on the fairway, setting my approach shots up for consistently attacking the green. Broke 80 for the first time today, only pulled the big dog out once all round! Thanks for helping me check my ego sista

First video featuring the SUPER TUBA
(Ego was strong with this one)
After finding this channel, I started using strategy on the course, simplified my game, and started *enjoying* the sport again which meant I started practicing again.
So I hope you see this comment:
I have watched so many of your videos recently and I’ve taken a lot from the mental/course management tips and transferred it to my game. It’s made a big difference. As a result, I shot my best ever score at my home course today (+11) and nearly broke 80 for the first time.

These videos are SO GOOD. Thank you!
(halfway though the 3 months)
After trialling this, I have been playing this way for 6 weeks and not one round over 94 and you got me to break 90! besting with an 87..
Regards,
One massive fan.
Love watching B Dog improve not only his score but his mindset!!!
Love the shout out to BadGolf. Love that channel too and I had been thinking about that quote as well.
Yes boyfriends I have the same problem, shoulders way open. I do a little shoulder shimmy in setup to feel them in line with the hips ooo babyy
I recently broke 100 and hit 98, I was elated but also relieved. Thanks for the vids and advice boyfriend. Waddaplaya
The bad golf shout out!!!! This and bad golf have my favorite golf related content love it.
Amazing man. True golfing enlightenment
YYYEEESSSSS BAD GOLF. ALEX AND JOHN 👌💣🔥
This channel helped me the most and The two biggest pieces of advice have been, planning from the back of the hole and listening for the rattle. Started golf in May and finally broke 100 with those 2 tips. Thank you playa!
What made golf click for me was my index finger clicking subscribed to this channel.
What clicked for me was something you said in another video- work on the technicalities at the range…have fun on the course. And as you continue working at the range, those two will eventually intersect without over analyzing everything on the course.
This is awesome! Love seeing B-Dog back on the channel. Wadda Playa! Crushing his drive.
Love the B-Dog videos, I've been following along and went from breaking 90 once last year, to breaking 90 multiple times this year and pushing towards 80. Super cool to see B-Dog leading the charge of high-handicappers shaving strokes!
What clicked for me was playing with out ever thinking about my swing. Trusting it and thinking about each hole as it came
And because of this channel, I focus on the ideal shot distance into the green, this has made a huge difference and has proved beyond doubt that driver is not my default T box club
I changed my home course. Went from high 90's/100's to mid to low 80's without changing anything else. My new home course has a higher slope rating but more variety in the holes especially the Par 3's. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery.
Love this format, using yardage on google maps, 80 vs 90 icons, keep it up
I'm happy for Bdawg.
Love the super-tuba music for Hole 12...you've gotta feel for BDog, that's a real card-wrecker!
Trying to break 85 and it's 100% about the game inside of PW distance, the wedges and the lag putting need more than a little bit of work, but we'll get there! Can't wait to see this man break 80.
Superb video
Well done Brian and welcome back. 👍
Shot an 86.
So much WOTP:
- GIOTG
- Punch shots instead of hero shots
- A sensual relationship w/ my wedges
- More time practicing putting
What really clicked though was embracing the fade. It's my natural shot shape and when I play for it, my misses are so much better.
WaddaBDog. Ps Thanks Matt for the Pillow Fight and Cosmic Energy waddaplaya polos. They are top drawer and ready for our next round as they arrived in time 👍🏽
Wow, Bdog is swinging so much better! Love your videos! I am managing the course much better after watching so many of them.
Everyone deserves a golf sidekick as a caddie. Waddacaddie!!!!!!
Pitching practice is what finally helped me break 80. Now, if I'm inside 70yds, I pitch to within 10ft more often than not. I finally have several birdie opportunities in a round vs hoping to 2-putt for par from 60ft.
That's what clicked for me.
Me starting watching golf sidekick made me break my barrier
My clickage moment is playing stress-free golf, especially when you continually say that we need to play from the hole back to the tee. I realized that I didn't always need to try and hit it as far as possible (leading to sometimes BAD results) and I could hit to a comfortable distance for the next shot. Thank you, Playa-in-Chief!
Love this series. Bdog is my spirit animal
Guru Waddaplaya teaching inner peace and harmony….play on playa! 🙌
I saw that and we tried a few things. Could not get rid of the hook stroke but we just went with what we had. Let’s see what happens
@@GolfSidekick I saw you had mentioned it later. I did move from a mallet to a blade as I struggled too...it did help.

@@GolfSidekick Done! In your email, thanks again!
i'm not sure how much of this gets read. but my breakthrough was super super super simple, and i feel that a lot of people could benefit from it.
i changed the makeup of my long clubs.
i'm not someone who will ever say that clubs are the key to scoring because they emphatically aren't, at least from the perspective of brand and shaft etc.
what made it for me was getting rid of lower lofted fairways, and replacing them with hybrids.
i used to think that your bag needed to look like driver, 3/4 wood, 3/4 hybrid, 4 iron-pw
but that 3/4 wood was useless for me.
i changed to a 2 hybrid, 7 wood, and 5 hybrid, then 4-pw.
i carry one less wedge now which has caused ZERO issue for me, and now i have four clubs that i LOVE off the tee.
regardless of the hole, i have a good friend to hit
being in love with your equipment makes golf so much easier, and being in love with four different clubs off the tee has freed my game up so much it's nearly unbelievable.
the requirement of sound mind can start with your equipment. you MUST LOVE what you're holding. this love gives you more success.
conventions be damned, find what you love, and fill your bag with it. then feel the love while you play.
Every comment gets read playa
@@GolfSidekick you're a king Matty. I'm watching this video now. Have a waddaplaya cover on my 7 wood (the greatest club in existence) and just shot a killer 71 at my local. All is good my man. You're so appreciated.
Love the BG/GS crossovers that have been happening. Also, I felt that 12th hole deep in my chest.
Two years ago I was trying to get to even par or even under par and I finally did it because of a few things. One was hitting 2/3rds of greens in reg. Two was good wedge play under 100 yards. Lastly was getting up and down a majority of the time when I missed the green.
I Hoover a single paper, focus 🧠 relax like a baus 78 on tap 😂
Ddog hits to many 60 degree wedges . Love it playa ⛳🏴
tip that helped me break my barriers (100 then 90) was resetting my mindset. i’m not a pga pro, ima bauussssss. be happy with bogeys and know DBs are okay from time to time too. resetting a bogey as a par helped a ton to free my swing up and not get stiff or negative for the next shot
Love the channel. Love the system. What's the song at 17:00?
That course is absolutely breathtaking
@golfsidekick When are you coming to golf in beautiful Vancouver (Canada)? We have some beautiful courses to show you!!
probably after the country is reopened for tourists playa. maybe 2022 or 2023 or 2024
@@GolfSidekick Lol😂
@@GolfSidekick Counting down the days playa! all the best
What clicked for me is that if I swing smooth and fully commit to how I want to hit the golf ball, it will usually be in a great position for me to score. Looking at all the options/misses is crucial to scoring well.
Also taking my time on the green helps a ton.
Just wanted to say that Cpt. Save-a-hole has become my patron saint of pars. I need it on some golf apparel!
Love this content soooo much!
The following things led to me breaking 80 for the first time (in order of importance):
1. Joining a club...which led to playing the same course about 3 times a week,
2. Following the Way of the Playa (watching and learning from Matt)...mainly attitude/perspective (accepting bad shots, staying calm, and moving on) but also smarter course management and shot/club selection,
3. Buying a new (used) driver...which added significant distance off the tee, leaving me with shorter irons into the greens
Love the shout out for bad golf :) keep up the good work sisters
What clicked for me to break my barrier was to think about what you say lol. Lose the ego and stop hitting hero shots 💪 great vid
Some option for driver from the tees would be also good. He hit the 4 iron so good that some driving iron would be great (21 or 19 deg) or fairway wood.
What clicked for me was finding the easiest course I could. Playing it loads of times until I finally shot +6 on it, for the first time breaking 80.
My best treet from your channel is as up to now the saying "stressfree golf" I don know how many times per round im saying it to myself..
Bought a 2 iron - I only lose 20-30m off the tee, even mishits are mostly on the fairway, setting my approach shots up for consistently attacking the green. Broke 80 for the first time today, only pulled the big dog out once all round! Thanks for helping me check my ego sista
Planning my next shot instead of just getting it up there helped me go from 90’s to low 80’s consistently
