  • Malaga Town, Marina and Beach NOW Costa Del Sol City Walking Tour.
Welcome to Malaga, a vibrant coastal city nestled on Spain's stunning Costa del Sol. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and Mediterranean charm, Malaga offers a captivating blend of old-world elegance and modern delights.
As you explore the city, you'll be greeted by a captivating mix of architectural wonders. Marvel at the imposing Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress that dates back to the 11th century, and its neighboring Roman Theatre, a testament to the city's ancient past. Discover the stunning Malaga Cathedral, known as "La Manquita" (the one-armed lady) due to its unfinished south tower, and admire its intricate Renaissance and Baroque design.
Wander through the narrow streets of the historic center, known as the Casco Antiguo, where you'll find charming plazas, bustling markets, and delightful tapas bars. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Plaza de la Merced, the birthplace of renowned artist Pablo Picasso. Explore the Picasso Museum, housed in a beautiful 16th-century palace, and discover the fascinating works that chronicle the artist's life and artistic evolution.
Malaga is also blessed with picturesque beaches that line its coastline. Enjoy the golden sands and azure waters of Malagueta Beach, where you can relax under the warm Mediterranean sun or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Alternatively, venture further along the coast to discover hidden coves and quieter stretches of shoreline, where you can escape the crowds and embrace a tranquil beach experience.
Malaga’s La Malagueta beach is one of the busiest beaches in the center of the city. During the summer the coast gets filled with lot of locals and tourists due to its close proximity to Málaga.
This well-known beach has sand directly brought in from the Sahara to make it wider. There are plenty of restaurants, "chiringuitos" and beach bars that offer wide variety of local foods. There are also large areas where you can do outdoor exercises. La Malagueta is one of those beaches that's highly recommended both by day and by night.
The city's location in south-western Spain ensures its weather is pleasantly warm all year round. In summer it gets hot, but not uncomfortably so like Sevilla and Córdoba, while winters are rarely cold.
The lengthy promenade throbs with activity throughout the year, attracting Málaga residents of all ages: black-clad older folk amble along, stopping intermittently to enjoy the horizon from the comfort of a shaded bench; fitness enthusiasts cycle, jog or roller-blade past, weaving in and out of the skateboarding or moped-riding teens that frequent the area in a refreshingly non-threatening manner.
Málaga has the second biggest port in Spain, Muelle Uno is the super modern and a must visit zone for shopping, dining and just walking out and enjoy the sun!
La Farola de Málaga is one of the symbols of the city. It dates back from the year 1817 and constructed by the engineer named Joaquín María Pery y Guzmán. It is one of the two lighthouses in Spain with a female name, with La Farola de Tenerife in Canary Islands being the second.
The small Capilla del Puerto or the Chapel of the Virgen del Carmen was inaugurated around 1732 after several construction projects. The building has two floors. The first floor was used to give mass to the men of the sea. And the second floor served a wide variety of functions. Now, the chapel is closed but kept in good condition.
The Centre Pompidou Málaga is located in Muelle Uno. It is found in the most striking building that is called El Cubo which was designed by Javier Pérez de la Fuente and Juan Antonio Marín Malavé. It is made of steel and glass. This museum offers a journey through the art of the 20th and 21st centuries with selected works from various collections of different artists both modern and contemporary.
Muelle Uno is also a shopping destination with expensive boutiques that line up at the sunny boulevard. It is a great place to spend a day's shopping.
Another paradise for foodies, Málaga Port offers plenty of high quality restaurants and bars. There are also a selection of cocktail bars to enjoy.
