Amazing tutorial. Very much appreciated.
Thank you
Thanks so much for this, it was incredibly helpful to me. I have tried this effect on my own a few times, and the lens distortion effect is what I've needed but didn't know existed in Davinci Resolve. My only criticism was that I found the tutorial a tad quick and it was difficult at times to see where your cursor was. Hope to see more from you soon!
Glad I was useful. I am taking note on the speed and make sure that it is clearer in the future 💪
Yes! Thanks dude! New skill learnt; much appreciated!
You are welcome. Always keep learning
The audio EQ transition at the beginning of the video is dope maaan 🔥🤩
Thanks. Appreciate it
I'm actually amazed, really, such a small channel and so much information! Amazing, keep up with the good work!
Thanks
Really helpful, very well explained!
I'd love it if you could do something similar with two modifications:
1) Using a video clip of the TV instead of a static image.
2) Zooming in to the TV and transitioning to the original footage.
I might have something in the plan fir that. Just need to find the time with work. But i have that planned 💪
hi, do you find some stuff with a videoclip of the tv?
Not yet. But this would be achieve with a tracking of the tv in a video clip rather than a static image
@@PhilippeStemberger i found this and i use for a track of a tv while using a dolly to get a push in
Au in that way you can do it indeed. Smart thinking
This was awesome. I watch a lot of video editing tutorials and this one stood out. It was information-dense, which I appreciate.
Thanks, appreciate it and glad it was helpful

Excellent!
Glad you liked it
good stuff man
Thank you
Great vid - I have an intro that is looking at 6 security camera with a slow zoom into one screen. I want to repeat the steps with each of the tv screens but when I click mirror after tracing out the screen it doesn't let me mirror, it is like I can only see through the original tv I edited. Is it possible to do these steps on mutliple tv screens in the one frame?
I wouldn’t recommend it. While it is possible you will end up managing different mask in the same clip. It is probably better and easier to duplicate your original clip and work one tv at the time
Awesome tutorial! Now what if the footage shot of the TV is actually moving? I shot my footage hand held. How do I get the the video behind the TV clip to track with the tv? Does that make sense?
It does. You can either stabilise your tv footage or have to track your tv footage and apply the tracking info on your clip underneath (I have a tutorial on how to do that in the channel)

Trop bien, merci et bravo !!!

What a great video !!!
Thanks!
Glad you liked it
@@PhilippeStemberger Ya, It's was beneficial cause I am including something similar in my showreel, I will upload that on this channel I'll be glad if you check that out
Sure. Just let me know when it is online 💪
@@PhilippeStemberger Ok and thank you for your time
Say I want to do something similar that you did with the TV screen, but do it with a video clip of a doorway, instead of a still image. How would I go about doing that? Any video you can point me to? What's the correct terminology to even look it up?
You will need to do some tracking as well. I have one video about title reveal that touch on that technique (thumbnail is a running girl). So basically you will want to do the same technique but match your new doorframe with the movement of the door through tracking
Where did u get the TV video?
I loved the whole tutorial c:
The picture came from pexels I think. Then it is a slow zoom in to close into the screen
Is there a way to save this as a template (for lack of a better term). If you need to do this with multiple clips do you have to do it from scratch each time?
Once you have your final edited clip. You should be able to drag and drop it back into your media pool to have 80% of the work done if not more. If you put it into a power bin you will even be able to use it in a different project
@@PhilippeStemberger Thank you 🙏 Been struggling with YT copyright recently and hoping this technique might help. Great vid.
Thanks
@@PhilippeStemberger Hey sorry just wanted to follow up - I've dragged the clip into my media pool but it brings each layer in separately. The TV template has reset to its default. Do I need to render the clip first or is there something else I'm doing wrong?
Silly question alert: when you magnified the TV screen to select the frame, you moved the video across - how did you do that?
If you are talking about the intro. It is done by zooming out of the main clip while zooming in on the tv imagine to make the masking area bigger. Makes sense ?
cannot find one video on how to do this but to a timeline edit...yer one video clip what happens when u have a timeline edit and u want to do this...cannot work it out and haven't found a video on it yet
Have you tried with a compound clip ?
Idk if you'll see this, but where can I find a template for the TV to put in?
If I remember, I got mine in pexels.com
Hi Philippe, I have a green screen template but I want to learn how to put a clip or picture at each portion of the green screen in the timeline. I wanted to find out if you can help me with that and at what price. I am using DeVince resolve 18 free version.
Not sure I understand your problem. But happy to help if I can. I have a few video on how to handle green screen on my channel
@@PhilippeStemberger Thanks a lot. I have watched some more videos on your channel and they have helped me solve the problem. I appreciate.
When dragging the mp4 from the media pool into the nodes window and ticking the preview button for left or right side, no preview appears. I can open the mp4 in media players and add/edit it in the timeline (testing to ensure it works properly). I'm having this issue with multiple test mp4 files (but png files work fine) hope someone can assist. Thanks!
Hard to tell like that to be honest. Try converting the file by exporting it then use the exported version ? If it isn’t an encoding issue. Then I am not sure what it could be. I never had the problem
Please tell me the step to get the video clip inside of the TV. I'm following the other but I don't see where it shows how to get the footage in the TV.
Which part are you not following? In a nutshell it is a combination of layered videos and some masks. It is not the easiest effect to do, but the footage in the TV is just a second clip that you resize to make smaller and fit into the mask of the TV itself
I wonder why window selection doesn't work with my jpeg background, but it works with a video I wanna insert. Maybe you have some clues? Thanks for your tutorial. Liked and subscribed! I'm your 888-th subscriber, lol)
I simply created a new project, but added background twice, and the second worked. Dunno why it works this way, but this problem appeared to be solvable.
Glad to hear that. Not too sure myself if what is happening but glad you found a workaround
What was the image used?
For the tv? Just a stock image I found online
Hello bro, when exporting the video it does not export with the movement approaching the screen, why?
the editable is fine
Hum. That is weird. Are you exporting the clip or the entire timeline?
Love it but where is the undo button when you do the window setting
I just press CTRL + Z like I do in any software to undo the last few actions 😅
Dope
Thanks
hey, can you show me how to edit as though the camera is looking through the monitor at us while we use the computer screen? you know like in the movie 'nerve' where you go into the monitor and see the actor..?
Ah this is perfect. It is my next video. I have been dragging it but I will try to release it by next Friday. It isn’t very complicated but it is a few nice trick combine together
@@PhilippeStemberger I tried to figure it out myself, but it would be a great help tbh.. looking fwd to it :)
Coming out this week 🤞
I have a clip with a tv but the clip already is zooming into screen…so I need tracking?
Depends on the exact movement of your tv clip. If it looks natural, you don’t need it
Молодец 👍👍👍
Thanks
Which system is this ?
This is using davinci resolve
what program are you using ?
Davinci resolve
Where did i get this same video of tv
Pretty sure I got mine from pexel
@@PhilippeStemberger thank you got it
Without green screen , i couldn’t do it 😒how ?
i tried all way you do
You could use some masking to hide the footage you need
Dope ! it jus straight up worked, sometimes I follow step by step guides and things go wrong, this just worked super easy, thank you for your time into this! @jtflights
Glad it worked. Agree. Sometimes I watch a tutorial and I “got it” but I can never seems to replicate haha
