The unpainted frame rusting away probably protected the body from rusting. Before finishing off that frame, go to a boat shop and get a sacrificial anode to bolt on, making sure there is electrical contact between the anode and frame. The anode will oxidize away instead of the frame.
Love your videos, thank you for your service. I'm a Retired Army Diesel Mechanic. I was one of few female mechs back in the 70s and 80s. My Gram worked on airplanes in WWII wiring and riveting the wings. You're a breath of fresh air in the UA-cam world. As much as I like the Bronco, I absolutely love the Ranger, what a shout out to your Grams in this restoration. I love your attention to detail and all out desire to make all parts like new.
James May would be very proud of Sarah for organizing all of her hardware. That statement might not make sense to everybody, but Sarah will understand.
Surface rust on the tire mount and sway bar are easy to remove. Get a 45 gal plastic drum, a battery charger some arm & hammer washing soda and set up a cheap and effective electrolysis tank to remove the rust. Those parts are totally restorable.
Your Ranger truck series is probably viewed by a lot of people. Those Rangers are so everywhere that a lot of people can relate to your project build. I actually have a 95 myself. I really like it and it still cranks and drives without any issues still... Thumbs Up!
Just to say, off Ranger topic, the Quattro is an excellent buy. It's a genuine classic and with any luck you will be putting work, and your not inconsiderable skills, into something which will reflect the value of your labours.
Sarah, well, Sarah², you're a badass!! Thank you for being damn fun and so intelligent! You set the precedent for women techs everywhere. You're best! Much love from fellow woman-owned Phoenix Mobile Tire & Service, LLC 😁
Ford included sway bars in the “handling package” on their trucks in the 80s and 90s. So that might be why the window sticker doesn’t mention sway bars.
Hello, Sarah Squared. Wonderful to see you two together again. 👍🏼😊😊 Gram's truck is looking fine! I'm certain, without having known her, that she'd be proud of the truck, but she'd be more proud of you. Git it, Rock Star!
That's an Audi Coupe Quatro!!! Holly molly!! Sarah, most people don't even know what this car is. The more I watch your videos the more I like you Girl. You definitely know what to buy.
Love Little Sarah’s hair color… looks very natural. I’m glad I got to meet her at May’s Hot Rods & Hotdogs! Great content. I appreciate that you show your “Oops” moments… keeps it real for we mistake-prone mortals. I agree with the rust diagnosis on the Ranger frame. Looks like salt in the humid air rust to me. Thanks, Sarah. 👍👍👍
The moment you said, "why do I do this stupid shit," I knew I was in love. Thank you for this wonderful feeling. My life's been as rusty as your grandmother's frame. I mean your truck frame.
Love to see the Ranger project! I have my great grandmother’s 1969 Chevelle Malibu sedan sitting in our barn waiting for me to refresh and rebuild it! It only has 70K miles on the original 307 cubic inch engine! Much love from Texas!
Your skills are awesome for anyone working on Cars & Trucks I have never been as thourogh on anything as You are doing Great work Great descriptions Great Reality
Sarah if you don't already have one a Factory shop manual is invaluable which I am sure you know but I just had to make sure, go with your heart on this one. No one could fault you its your truck and your Gram will approve and have fun
Hey!! It's Small Sarah!!! It goes without saying that there's a big place in my heart for OG Sarah, but it's always a treat when Small Sarah makes an appearance...cutest shorty ever!!
Trucks are super useful. You're really going to love having one. I've owned 3 smaller trucks and they're the best. You may want to replace gaskets and seals on the engine when it's out. My '89 Ranger started leaking through the rear and front seals. It had the 8 plug 2.3. Best of luck on the build.
I watched this video about half-an-hour ago - and I’m still smiling! You’re SO entertaining that even someone like me who isn’t that into cars can enjoy it. Thanks, Sarah.
Happy Veterans Day & Thank you for your service. Nice to see little Sarah. It will always be Gram's pickup. Oh, one last thing. Even in jest, don't degrade yourself by calling yourself an idiot or stupid. We all know your the most entertaining and intelligent car channel on YT.
Never stop calling it your Gram's truck.. That's the part that makes this so special! :)
I agree!
Agreed 👍
Maybe it should be named "Gramstruck".
Agree
This is the way...
Small Sarah: always a treat to see.
Thank you for giving us a fitting ending for the "Tater Tot" with "Little Sarah" !
The look of all of that powder coating and that zinc-plated Hardware coming together is fantastic !! OCD approved
Shouldn't that be CDO as is right and proper? 😉
@@beigesedan obsessive compulsive disorder?
Yay! Small Sarah!
Nice to see little Sarah again
So nice to see "Little Sarah".
Fab video…and small Sarah. Wow. What a treat

In a dry climate like Az would it still be worthwhile to get?
YAY!!! LITTLE SARAH!!!!!!!!!! I miss seeing the super goof!
Small Sarah, have her back more often!😀
the two Sarahs!!! awesome to see you again.
Little Sarah!! Yay!!!

Your doing "Gram's" up right. What a wonderful tribute. Go Sarah!
Yes!!! An appearance by small Sarah! Even better than the signature Sarah seat bolster move...
Little Sarah is back 😍😍😍
James May would be very proud of Sarah for organizing all of her hardware. That statement might not make sense to everybody, but Sarah will understand.
I got that reference!

It’s Small Sarah yay!!
Your Gram’s truck is going to be so mint when it’s done. Will probably be the nicest 1994 Ford Ranger in the country!
Small Sarah looks GREAT!
Girl, that UR Audi in the background of so many shots is just *chef's kiss*!!!
Super happy to see lil Sarah again!
And yay! Ranger is getting some love!
Amazing restoration! This will be the best Ranger on UA-cam.
Your Ranger truck series is probably viewed by a lot of people. Those Rangers are so everywhere that a lot of people can relate to your project build. I actually have a 95 myself. I really like it and it still cranks and drives without any issues still... Thumbs Up!
Oh snap its little Sarah...and yes her hair does look nice. Going to be one of the nieces ranger's I have seen in a long time.
Yeah! Mini Sarah!!

You can totally restore the tire carrier, get a blast cabinet!

The in-your-end-thoughs were strong in this one 😊
🤣🤣🤣

Those 307's are legendary. I took one 140K and it never used a drop of oil.
Your skills are awesome for anyone working on Cars & Trucks

It was so nice to see Little Sara, it's been a long time.
Wow, Nice to see Vertically Challanged Sarah. And yea, her hair Looks Great, along with everything else...
Awesome that you're back on the Ranger. Yay!
Trailer/Tow package? On older trucks that in some cases added a rear sway bar.
Sarah if you don't already have one a Factory shop manual is invaluable which I am sure you know but I just had to make sure, go with your heart on this one. No one could fault you its your truck and your Gram will approve and have fun

Glad to see Li'l Sarah have the chance to bid Teeter Tot farewell. It's been a long journey.

There's Sarah, There's Sarah, There's Sarah!
Addco makes fantastic OEM+ swaybars and they are gloss black!👌
Everything is better in double doses!! Very excited about this truck
I wondered what happened to your sister. And this is the best way to rebuild and upgrade any vehicle. 👍👍👍👍
These Ranger videos are my faves.

I did this exact thing to my 2001 ranger. Completely disassembled it, sand blasted and painted everything. So satisfying
Hi little Sarah!! Ohh look! Ranger Content!
The two most beautiful Sarah's in the world
You have my vote for the coolest Woman on UA-cam. One of the true entertainers, and smarter than most.
Loved the disturbed reference 👍👌🏻😀
thank you for the Disturbed reference 🤘
I watched this video about half-an-hour ago - and I’m still smiling! You’re SO entertaining that even someone like me who isn’t that into cars can enjoy it. Thanks, Sarah.
