I think the only thing that would actually make sense for the friends and foe set is Rose and Donna Noble with the toymaker! I know its wishful thinking but wouldn't be too hard do them, just new head sculpts.
Not sure on a physical media collection update as I've only added a few steelbooks and collection sets since the last video. Might do a figure collection update later in the year though, as that should be added to considerably over the course of the year with many new customs and new releases.
Hello & welcome 🤗 They’re Ikea Billy bookcases with glass HÖGBO bookcase doors (that used to have an optional board insert that I just removed). I think Ikea has just recently redesigned its Billy range, so it may not be quite the same & not sure these doors exist anymore.
One little piece of news you missed: The figures for 15 and Ruby, as well as the Sonic, are already listed (albeit not publicly) on some distribution websites, slated for an October release. There was also some vague pricing given, but I don't remember what those were. I also want to point out, for some posters here, that the triple pack title is "Friends (plural) and Foes (also plural)", not "Friends (plural) and Foe (singular)". This might make little sense since its a triple pack and two friends and two foes adds up to four. My theory is that there's going to be some sort of small accessory sized foe, like a Cybermat, a giant Maggot or an Adipose (or possibly a Pting or Troll Doll if we want to get more creative) in the set as the second foe, but honestly, who knows. We should get our answers in June, when all the figures are announced (the sets will all be releasing in July/August, no split waves this year).
Oh has it? I didn’t know. Could you share a link? A small accessory foe could be a good shout, if the set name is genuinely ‘Friends & Foes’ and the Maggots are quite rare now, so a re-release wouldn’t hurt. I imagine this will be narrowed down to a Doctor’s era & one of these words will be singular, once we hear the official reveal.
I’m really hoping we get the wrarth warriors as figures. Doctor who’s a creature feature, it would be boring to have figures that don’t feature the creatures.
I wouldn’t say no. I still really like the old sculpts, so I would have to see these Vortex ones first. Some of the recent new Doc head sculpts that have come out, like for 4th & 9th Docs, haven’t impressed me tbh.
@@who-time well this year marks the 40th anniversary when Peter Davison makes departure from the show I think they will make tagen, turlough and the black graudien but that’s my theory
Great to see another upload I do hope your mother gets well soon can’t wait to see what other sets we will get this year I really hope the ruins of Sukarno set is officially revealed soon
I think that the Friends and Foes set could be characters that are are a friend in some ways but a foe in others, like the Master (friend because they were best friends with the Doctor and foe because of the constantly trying to kill people). No idea what the other figures could be and I know I'm wrong but its fun to think about.
Ah interesting. Maybe they could be more ambiguous with the term friend. Obviously, I'm still holding out for an Anthony Ainley Master, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes.
I just wish B&M would be a bit more generous with the distribution of sets, I have 15 stores around me in south Essex and not one of them ever get the sets I stock. 😢
Knowing Character's penhant for rarely giving us 3 new figures in a set, it would most likely be an "Edge of Destruction" set with Ian & Barbara as the 'friends' and Susan, replete with scissors, as the "foe" ! 🤣
Well if Al is being honest in the Who Corner to Corner podcast, then sadly it won’t be these gals. Plus, after the Keys of Marinus & Sensorites sets pegwarmed, I think 60s Who is very unlikely. We just have to hold out hope the show regains mainstream popularity & then maybe we’ll get that Yeti at last!
@@who-time I didn’t realise the other 60s sets had done badly. Ironically they are the only ones from B&M I’ve ever bought. I’m not a big figure collector. But liked the idea of having the first TARDIS team so picked them up.
@@CulturePhilter They did sit on B&M store shelves for quite a long time and got reduced but that's happened to many other sets too. Personally obviously I was very excited and picked up multiple to do custom Sensorites, Voords and other things. For a couple of years, Character had us thinking that they might try to do all the companions but it stopped. Does seem odd not to have the 1st TARDIS team but then it's odd we don't have a 1970 Silurian or Jamie or many others. 🤷♂
Cheers. Got a way to go with my mum; hoping she's in better shape by the end of the month. Baby is an utter joy though with many smiles. I've already got him playing with a Dalek toy (the old ill-proportioned sculpt version of course haha).
Nothing mentioned on the horizon as yet. It’s a reduced wave for B&M. I imagine Ncuti’s TARDIS will get a release next to coincide with his figure & the Ruby figure.
I’m flattered but unfortunately life is super busy, so I barely have time to do it for myself. I occasionally put stuff up on my eBay, so you keep tabs on that for Dr Who customs.
@@who-timealso one more “tiny”thing, tell rob white about my commissioning (I live in the USA so I will do 4 figures at a time) cause it costs a lot of money. So maybe you can help me. Anyways bye.
I've always had such mixed feelings towards Character Creations figures. On one hand it's great news Who figures are being made....but I feel the quality just isn't that great. I guess they are ok for the price, but outside of the Doctor (and only one of each) I've picked up very few.
For the price point, they’re very good value. Still I appreciate your point, as the quality can vary & some releases can be disappointing or a waste of time. Unfortunately, Dr Who can never be like Star Wars or Marvel; it will always be our daft, ropey British sci-fi underdog & the figure line simply reflects that as well.
Friends and foes of the Fourteenth Doctor could work. Donna head on a retooled body. You could probably kitbash a Toymaker together. Not sure about the third figure, maybe if they've already paid for the tooling for the Wraith Warrior but they can't get retailers interested in a single carded release they could chuck it in here? Otherwise maybe you could kitbash a Kate Stewart or a Mel together?
That's not a bad shout, as it would be current. Maybe use the Utopia Master body for Toymaker? I'd like to think that they would put 60th anniversary stuff in mass retail, given they've prototyped a Wrarth Warrior figure and Meep plushy but if not, this would be a good backup option.
Absolutely 👍🏻 💯 Hope it gets released! Would love to buy a couple & maybe customise the 2nd one with wings (nicked from Marvel Legends Wasp or Beetle).
I think the only thing that would actually make sense for the friends and foe set is Rose and Donna Noble with the toymaker! I know its wishful thinking but wouldn't be too hard do them, just new head sculpts.
The new sonic reminds me of AbFab when Patsy says of her flip phone "it looks like a small shoe".
Haha it does maybe look more like a make up compact than a sonic.
@@who-timenope, it looks like a Sky Remote 😂
True
I am really hoping they release the Ruins of Skaro set. I've been wanting a Movellan for many years.

I hope we gets a freinds and foe of the 14th doctor
I hope I don't have to buy the Dr & Millie just to get the Wrath Warrior.
Wish they'd made a Wrath Warrior toy back in 1980 when the strip hit.

Glad the Skaro set is online, really struggle to find them In shops, never got the last couple of Tardis sets.

I just want a release date for Ncuti’s sonic cause the season is coming up soon and I want to try and have it before the season
It won't be released before the series is out

I think for the Mysterious 'Davros' set there should be the Children in Need Davros as well as Emperor Davros and the Dalek in that scene. Maybe
I have funny feeling the friends and foe set is going to be based around either the Davison or Capaldi era
Oooooh What makes you say that? What do you think they'll put in the set? I swear we've had a million 5th Doc figures at B&M lol.

I can never make sense of B&M distribution either. Seems to vary wildly year to year.
I’d love them to do a Friends and foe set with Barbara and Susan, don’t care which villains I just want to complete the very first TARDIS team.
