      Your so welcome girls! It's only the 2nd time I have ever spotted river otters. The 1st time was at Abbott Lake at the Peaks of Otter. We should do a collab hike sometime somewhere since we are at all of the same places. #futuregoals

      Thanks! I always try to give ppl new ideas for camp food. Anything you can fix at home you can fix on the campfire with modifications and some prep work prior to the trip to make it easier. Thanks for checking out my vid!

      Yes, the cart, the bathhouse, and having your car so close by! I thought it was a primitive campsite, actually, they call primitive campsites. But nah not really. Thanks for the watch my friend.

      You were right Alan! I can eat whatever I want now that my gb is gone. I'm not eating meat but I am vegetarian now rather than vegan since I can eat fat now. My waistline is not liking that I can eat all this stuff now. I'm always trying to give peeps different ideas of what they can cook by the campfire and make it easy. What's your fav campfire meal?

      @@StepsbyKaatje If covid wasn't enough, we are experiencing gas shortages in the US and stations are out. That may start affecting how far I can drive to hike in the mountains. Ugh!

    I enjoyed the video. I have been here. We made fried fish for dinner. Actually, the best camp-out food is hot dogs and baked beans with a side of chefboyardee raviolis. Chinese food??? You be hungry five minutes later, lol.

      Thanks for stopping by the channel. I like to vary up what I eat when I go camping since I go camping a lot. And I have several dietary restrictions and can’t do high fat with anything so unfortunately hotdogs and raviolis are out for me so I have to come up with healthier options. I always try to incorporate a lot of vegetables in a lot of different ways. But that’s the beauty of camping food you can make it however you want it to have a great time out there.

      @@RVAHikerGirl Well, we are in the middle of a heat wave, so going outside is out of the question. I did drive to the carryout last night. When it kools off I will explore the Arboretum.

      Feeling pretty good. All of us creators have issues at one time or another. It took 9 tries to just upload this video. I know right??? I know senior had mic issues recently. Even Darwin & Dixie have issues trying to get videos uploaded. I didn't even bring my mic for this one. Didn't want to deal with the sound issues.

    What mic to you use with your phone? Do you use an iPhone?

      I have a rode microphone and a deadcat to block wind noise but I didn't bring it for this trip. I have had strange noises in my audio I think caused by a bad lightening cable (I think thats what it is called) that connects it to my phone. Just using my old iphone 8+ for my videos. I need a new phone, ha ha!

      Sometimes I hike and camp solo and other times I go with other people. On this trip I was not solo. But I honestly don't need a male for security. I can and do take care of myself out there when I travel, go hiking, or on camping or backpacking trips. Us girls are strong and are very capable. We don't need another person to enjoy time in the outdoors. Solo adventures rock! ~RVA~

      Part time. I wish I could do this full time LOL! Love solo hiking and camping. I also have my car set up for car camping too that I do this time of the year when it's really cold to be able to extend my hikes. I have a video on that setup as well. ~RVA~

    Can you tell me how can I reserve, the campground close to the river .

      You have to call the 1800 number on the state park website. If you can the state park they will give you that number or it is located in the camping section of the website. Most of the primitive spots are walk in. Meaning you can just honor pay at the box, but you run the risk of them all being taken if you don't call ahead. Hole that helps.

      This is the best one but there are a few other primitive ones. But there are no waterfront campsites for RVs or for the cabins or yurts.

      Yes, All Virginia State Parks have camp site fees whether its a regular or primitive campsites.

      @@RVAHikerGirl really? I thought I've been finding a few maybe they aren't "state parks" then? I think there is a couple along Shenandoah one is called "Little Fort Campground" coming into the Front Royal Entrance.

      @@Theworldisdoom3d oh forgot to mention, LFC is free but expect a lot of ATV noise since trail goes right passed there campground. Especially on the weekends.
