Friend, EA didn't f'k everything up, capitalism did, how do you think a monster like EA came into being? because capitalism incentivises the maximization of profits which means capitalists are incentivised to crush or buy out smaller entities via mergers and acquisitions in order to limit competition in the market place and absorb their market share via such anti competitive practices, yes I know this is precisely the opposite of what people are told regarding how capitalism works, but that is precisely why they are misinformed regarding actual reality, that capitalism is a top down anti democratic anti competitive system over the long term as what was a small entity decades past nuzzles its way through usually via lots of bribery and corruption and public subsidy to become global giants with more power than governments. Capitalism is the problem, EA is a symptom of it. I lament the loss of truly great studios with good people over the last 30 years, from bullfrog to Klei, whose employee's who built the company and products, came to work one day to find their handful of owners above them all had been bribed to sell up to a larger entity who duly fires half of them and destroys the freedom and creativity of those that remain by amalgamating them into a larger machine concerned only with increasing profit margins as fast as possible in order to increase dividend payments to a handful of major investors/owners, for no work themselves, that is taxed at half of the rate of the workers wages who created the wealth extracted via dividends. The game is rigged.
