This is why I don't invite organic formulators to my parties 😒. I love working with both natural and synthetics. I love using vitamins, acids, and actives. Organic formulating feels like working with both hands tied behind your back. Plus it drives up cost when you have a perfectly safe and similar ingredient right there in stock. Anyways, thanks for the video. Could you show how to use beer 🍺 in formulating? Is it even possible? 🤔
Hello, thank you for all your useful content, it's so helpful. Please can you formulate with potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate as preservatives? Or at least talk about them and give details about how to use them and how and in which phase incorporate them ? Thank you very much ♡
Thanks for watching! They actually can be irritating, and they are not actually natural - they are nature identical, but synthetically made for our industry to match what is in nature. They also require a very low pH to be effective, so they are not my favourite to use. I do use them occasionally, where the formulation suits. You can learn about more preservative selection with our Can I use a different preservative workshop: personalcarescience.com.au/Workshops/Preservativeworkshop-3160/ or learn professional preservative selection with our Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/CertificateinAdvancedCosmeticScience-478/ or Diploma of Personal Care Formulation: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/DiplomaofPersonalCareFormulation-479/
They are hard to stabilise - and retinol is not natural. Its identical to nature, but it is not natural and therefore not permitted in an organic product or one claiming/certified to be all natural. Learn how to formulate with active ingredients, including how to stabilise them in your formulas and check quality/stability with our Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/CertificateinAdvancedCosmeticScience-478/ or Diploma of Personal Care Formulation: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/DiplomaofPersonalCareFormulation-479/

One thing I have always wondered is why more 100% natural products don't formulate with actives such as retinol, vitamin c, glycolic acids, etc..?
