  • Back in September, I took a leap of faith by signing up for my indie business's first market stall BEFORE I was even ready to launch! In this video I share more about why I decided to take this on despite not being ready and how I worked with the circumstances to theme this first stall around a pre-launch pop-up.
We'll be running through all the different aspects of my experience so grab a hot drink and get comfy!

A quick hello to everyone new who has subscribed and commented over the last few weeks! Thanks for choosing to be a part of my little space here on the Internet.
This video was meant to go up a few weeks back but it took a while to get to finishing the editing - thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy this more podcast-style video! There was a lot to cover and I might have missed some details, but if you would like to know more about the market stall experience drop a comment and I'll get back to you.
    Enjoy!

Cool! Markets in person are def a learning experience. I have found that I learned more about myself and my products better as I talked to people in progression of the market time, too.
A tip I leaned in polite criticism is the "I feel, I felt and I found" theory. I feel that this product would be ..... I felt that this product or customers would .... but I have found I or my customer or my product preferred this....
Also ask why this person was asking about a lid. Why would you prefer to have a lid? Or why would this person want refillable candles? This way you are engaging, not putting them out and they feel validated in asking. They may live where its really dusty but they love burning candles. This also helps us narrow down what our custoners are really needing in their home.
For the women, we all love recipes. When I helps sell grills I made a flyer with a recipe for a woman in general and a man for his bbq. Why? Recipes are most likely saved. You may generate business when they happen upon your flyer and they may purchase from you or give people referrals. I usually gave 10% off their personal purchase if they referred me to someone who became a customer. I included this info on a business card as well as the flyer.
One more, when I sold higher priced items like $200 or more, I start off with this oroduct first, tell them how I love using this in my home besides the qualities of the product. Then I would show the lowest or mid priced product. Which made everything else seem much more affordable. I usually got a bunch of smaller product orders. However, when you bundle things together, this for the bath, livingroom, kitchen bedroom, study, etc, you can get a higher priced order than with just with one candle sale.
Showcase why you love the product, why they should too and give them a scenario how that product feels in your hands, or looks on their desk or kitchen counter top while they relaxed or geting ready for the day or helping their children with their homework after school. Then say, " Doesnt this just sound so heavenly or pleasant or peaceful or exciting." You can have this too just purchasing all of these products. Creating the need is so important. Or I had someone seek me ought by scent that I was wearing, an essential oil, just walking through a market, I was so shocked, had a lovely talk about the scent, what was the trigger or impulse to find out what it was, etc and gave them my business card and made a huge sale later. Burn a candle!
Jerika Zimmerman from Canada has a bath and bomb business they started up doing markets this year. She has alot of info and how they set things up and why. I have found her videos to be a great value.
I am looking forward in your soap videos. I am just starting to actually making some this next week. Excited. I am doing my own stoneware with ultracal 30 to add to the soaps and salts and candles too. Hoping to add a bundle or gift box for the holidays.
This channel is the best fit for me! Tysm for sharing! 💖🦄💖🦄💖

Hey thanks for your comment! And I'm SO sorry with how late I'm getting back to you 😅
Amazing tips that you've shared, and I'll definitely try incorporating the "I feel, I felt and I found" theory next time I do one of these physical pop ups. Hope you did get round to making your soaps! The footage for my video has been sitting on my computer since September and I really need to get round to editing it 😂
