Lewis is so high on my list of dream destinations, I've never been! I love reading about the place and really fancy taking a bike out there one day. Closest I've managed is Ullapool on road bike adventures, I dream of going back and getting that boat soon. I actually have a framed photo of Loch Grimshader behind my desk.
Looks good even on a bad day. Hope it is not over run with lifestyle adventure types when the weather is nice. My best ridding spot looks like a religious pilgrimage on a pleasant day and just last week in bad weather you think the zombie apocalypse happened after I showed up at the same place. .
I've ridden some of those glens on MTBs in summer months, and can confirm they're so remote you can barely see other people all day. Amazingly we saw seven other humans out at this spot on our overnighter, one of whom genuinely was Queen Camilla in her Land Rover!
Hi, do you do nut-and-bolt rebuilds/resprays etc? I've got a 1995 Cannondale M500 that was hardly ridden but unfortunately left in the garden for about 10 years under a tarpaulin. All original. The frame has got some rust bubbles on it and the gears and brakes have pretty much seized. I would like to rebuild it - any advice?
I certainly do - as for advice I'd say it's a case of years of trial and error in my case, but that was pre-UA-cam. Nowadays you can learn everything you need on here! There's loads of rebuilds on my channel as you'll have seen, some more painstaking than others. One thing I don't like, however, is respraying - but I highly recommend Monkeyshred's channel - he's really mastered the art of home respraying.
Weather like that makes the Scottish tough. I heard the Scottish toughness comes from sleeping on straw mattresses and eating oatmeal. A Scott told me that as a joke.
Brilliant little video 🏴
Glad you like it - most of my subscribers tune out whenever I drop a video that doesn't have bikes in it!
@@red_dread variety being spicy and all that 👍 Thank you for sharing 👍
Amazing videos. Cheers 😁
Thanks, very kind. For some reason my camping videos get about ten times fewer views than my bike ones!
The driving snow is wetter than a dog's snout😮😊😂
Over here on the Isle of Lewis, I ride my trials bike in weather like that, it's good for teaching balance.

Very sorry to have missed this ⛺️ ⛰️
There will definitely be more!

@@red_dread Thanks for that - appreciate it 👍
That's a bit posh for a bothie mate 😁
Well it is on the Royal Balmoral estate! You get a better class of candles, firewood and river water there. The King himself chills there.
I DIDNT KNOW people can camp on the queens land

They did invent the saying "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad preparation".
Pleased to arguable watch this adventure first.
One of an elite few.
This doesn't look like fun
It's not for everyone, but a tent in a storm is honestly the place I'd rather be than anywhere else.
