Edmund Gerald Brown Jr. left his first governorship of California on 3 January 1983 exactly on the same day where incidentally his senatorial defeater Pete Wilson became United States Senator from California. Edmund Gerald Brown Jr. returned as Governor of California on 3 January 2011 exactly 28 years after he left the office on the first time and he left the office the second time on 7 January 2019.

I wish he was years younger and became governor again.

Gavin Newsome hasn't done sh*t! But piss away our tax payer surplus and turn it into a deficit. Your high speed train is now a runaway train!

With the state of the world, it’s hard to find inspirational people of integrity. I think people like Jerry Brown and Jimmy Carter have led honest, productive lives and I so appreciate both of them.

Probably the best governor California ever had, certainly the best in modern times. He solved a lot of problems, balanced the budget and left the state with a sizable surplus. A can-do pragmatist, his governorship is the model for others to follow.

No he didn't he fucked up California in the mid to late 70s and the 2010s decade, all that Jerry Brown did was nothing but high taxes, high crime rates and bad education

Jerry Brown did not move CA left. He was a fiscal conservative and environmentalist his whole career as a politician. He improved CA each time he was governor and acted as a bulwark against the more progressive-left state legislature.

He didn't move California to the left, he balanced the budget. Blame his idiot successor Newsom instead. He somehow forgot that strangling California businesses, the sunset of Brown's tax increases and pushing Californians away reduces your tax revenue and now California is in another budget crisis (2023 deficit of 68 Billion dollars).
