Matsushima has more potential than harimito

Putting Matsushima in this match was a brave move, and it nearly paid off. I still have mixed feelings about him - I doubt he's ever going to develop the reach and power Harimoto now has - but I can see he's got more potential than Togami and Shinozuka.
If he actually LEARNS and ADAPTS, and IMPROVES, then he 100% has the ability to surpass harimoto. Harimoto always falls into the problem of staying too close to the table and blocking passively, he has almost no backswing on his backhand and when played to his middle forehand he has that weird forehand block that slows the ball way down instead of stepping around or rotating the waist. if Matsushima can develope a more powerful forehand and gain a bigger backswing on his backhand (basically Alexis Lebrun, I would say Alexis is the closest to achieving perfect chinese form right now) he will 100% surpass Harimoto. Obviously this is assuming that his consistancy and control are equal with Harimoto, with the adition of the extra power that comes from proper chinese form.

The CHA Team got the list of the JPN's players one hour before the game, and the coach asked Fan Zhendong to review the opponent’s game video and prepare for the game. Neither FZD nor the CHA coach had prepared for the opponent, but the opponent player came in prepared and with a plan. 日本乒乓球界过于迷信福原爱的成长模式，搞什么“断代工程”，培养出不少少年天才，然而长大后却了了。原因是小时候还没有打牢基础时，就让他们频繁去参加大赛，争取好成绩。小小年纪，世界排名就挺高，但是病根也烙下了。水平达到一定程度后，就遇到了天花板，而且这个天花板还比较低，离世界超一流选手(比如大满贯选手)还差得很远，就再也上不去了。不信，我们可以看看，未来到底是日本的张本智和拿的世界冠军头衔多，还是中国的林诗栋拿得多(团体赛的世界冠军头衔可以不算)。少年成名还容易得一个毛病，就是狂。因为在少年时代，就有了打败世界一流选手的记录，所以狂得不得了。伊藤美诚如此，张本智和亦如此，所以伊藤美诚也只有一块奥运混双的金牌，还是借了水谷隼的力道。而张本智和至今还未有一顶世界冠军的头衔。他妹妹张本美和，这一年来成绩飞速提高，说话也有点狂起来了。唉，日本人就是不懂得，谦虚使人进步，骄傲使人落后的道理。
Sora's forehand is very side spinny and it takes a lot of energy out of the ball. To me it is the weakest part of his game. Else everything is solid.
he also has almost no real backswing on his backhand stroke, lots of lost power there since he starts foreward and tries to create power with just his wrist.
