Yes, but because he asked why all the time, he was "corrupting the youth" with new ideas.
He was actually using something we now call the socratic method. He didn't just as why. What he did was ask questions to get people to think in a certain way. Generally speaking he was getting them to think differently about the government or something

+dago201 Sort of. In the early dialogues, the ones that are most likely to be taken from reality, the point is just confusion. Essentially, it's a more sophisticated form of asking "why?" only that when children ask "why?" it's to get to the limits of adult knowledge, whereas his questions were geared toward finding inconsistencies in another's "knowledge." The later dialogues are more didactic, but these are most likely just framing devices for Plato's own philosophy - especially once you get to Republic and beyond (Critias, Timaeus), there's no doubt whatsoever that "Socrates" is Plato wearing his old professor's skin. (Never heard it called "Socrates' Allegory of the Cave.")

Her voice isn't necessarily annoying, but why the constant SHOUTING in between? She would do the videos quite well without that
I disagree. She is easy on the eyes, that voice however, is strictly ear piercing.
that line "you convert" near the end really got me. I'm not the biggest Grace fan, but she really does have a good humour.

My favorite story is when Bob Dylan was arrested (detained, really) fairly recently in New Jersey. Neighborhood residents reported a "scruffy old man behaving strangely" on the beach. The young officer assigned to check out the situation not recognize the singer, who was in town for a concert and was just taking a walk to unwind a little. He put up with the situation very well.

Fun fact: I know the people who moved into Matthew McConaughey's house (actually his smaller party house that was next to his house, which was plenty big enough to live in). They said when they moved in, the bongo drums, some documents, and some spf 5 sunscreen were left in the house.
if women are doing announcing or online speaking, they need to choose women who have naturally lower toned voices. High pitched grating voices annoy more people than not. This woman is just right on the edge of being grating, but still tolerable. Women with low voices sound nicer, are more authoritative in peoples opinion, and easy to listen to. Regardless of looks-looks should not play a part at all. Id like to see more realistic body portrayal and looks, across the board. Voices, though, need to be less bothersome and pleasant.

John should never let anyone else sub for him. He's hilarious and very engaging to watch. Every episode I've seen without him is annoying.
To those of you asking where John is, he's recently had a baby (and was on leave, but he had pre-recorded episodes for that) and is currently working on set of a feature film based on his book, The Fault in Our Stars. Hope that helps!

Calm down people. This was probably filmed when John was on paternity leave. Grace is super adorbs and babies are a lot of work. Having her fill in makes sense.

To those complaining that John isn't in the Video; The ones that John is not in were probably filmed when he was taking a couple weeks off of videos to help with his newborn son. So chill out and wait, he's going to be back.

I must say, I prefer Grace's content when she's working off of her own script... or lack thereof. Having other people write what Grace says just... doesn't quite feel like Grace. I think John executes these much better.
He's only just gotten back from paternity leave and these were probably filmed in advance...I think Grace is a great fill in. Keeps the quirky awkward feel going, and better than that other series going on this channel.

I was "arrested" for complaining that I didn't have a reservation at a hotel (their fault... but they gave me the next day free)... there was a cop in lobby. He said, "I'll give you a free place".
Wasn't really "arrested"... he gave me my own cell and let me take my headphones in.

Galileo wasn't arrested for heliocentrism exactly, he was arrested essentially for: 1. Stating his pet theory as fact, despite no valid evidence. 2. Using that to mislead people and espouse his own, quite specific, theological views. 3. Insulting the pope. The Church had little problem with the theory of heliocentrism itself, contrary to popular belief.

honestly, john could have made the exact same video with the exact same script, and people would have loved him even more for it rather than hating on grace for the same thing.

Guys, why are you all hating??! I like these videos because of the lists, theyre great, sure were used to John, but dang, calm down, she did great. Also, lol bieber, right.
Note, for Socrates, the punishment for corrupting the youth in general (not just religiously) was death by lethal ingestion. According to Plato, his main defense argument was that the specific things they charged him with, he never did himself, only the comedian's parody of him did those. He had lots of other arguments for his innocence (his speech is almost a small book on its own), but once convicted, he refused to flee on principle.
Guys, no need to be mean to Grace. I highly doubt she'll be staying forever. John probably just had other things to do. Grace did her best and doesn't need you guys saying you're going to unsubscribe because she was in ONE episode.

yeah, if the airline lost my bag I would lose my mind also! They need to learn how to keep other peoples fucking property safe and accounted for! Especially if youre going to be charged money to bring a bag/ which is insane in itself. However if I paid to bring bags, those bags best be protected like their made of gold.
