Completely agree with you Alistair Begg. Types and shadows, more than one fulfillment. Just as the plagues of Egypt are similar to the judgments in Revelation. Seeing as we do now in 2019 that the preparation for third temple is well planned for and ongoing, we see that 'putting an end to sacrifice' is yet to come. Because there are those who do not understand that Jesus put an end to sacrifice by HIS sacrifice. One thing is very clear, the man of lawlessness cannot possibly be unknown to Christians in the first century, because Paul explicitly said they knew him. This means that the man of lawlessness has to be a first century man.

The best way to end the 70 week of Daniel is to say that we don't know the correct interpretation of the last one week. Every video on this subject seems to start off with a promise that the interpretation of the 70 weeks is know. However everybody starts waffling when they reach the 70th week. It will be good if those who produce videos on the 70 weeks of Daniel put out a disclaimer saying that they have no idea of the interpretation of the 70th week.
When Jesus died, the veil in the Temple ripped from up to down. Was that not the sign "putting an end to sacrifice"? i think so, because the Apostles telle us who the real Temple is.

I think Alastair Begg is correct. Daniel 9 vv 24-27 deal *only* with the period up to 70AD. Those who argue that there is a huge gap between the end of the 69th week and 70th week are plain wrong. Can I recommend a paper by Herman Goldwag, a Jew who converted to Christ. He said (and I think proves) that (unusually) the King James translation does *not* translate the Hebrew words accurately. He also suggests that there is a query about the date of Artaxerxes' third decree. Goldwag argues: The 69 weeks ended at the *coming* of Christ, i.e. when He was presented to the people (month of Tishri, 29AD), when, at age 30, He began His Ministry. Then, Messiah was 'cut off' half way through the 70th week (His crucifixion). On this analysis, the second half of the 70th week finished in Tishri, 36AD, I.e. 3.5 years later. That *could* possibly refer to the moment Cornelius, the first Gentile, was converted, that being the moment when God authorised the mass conversion of the Gentiles. Begg's analysis, with which I agree, means that all those, like Irving, Darby, Scofield and others, especially those in the Brethren and pre-Millennial camps, who invented the 'gap' between the 69th and 70th weeks, are utterly wrong in their understanding of these verses.
The book of Daniel was not intended to help us spiritualize the times then with the times we now endure. It was a detailed account of the prophetic future of God’s dispensations with the dealings of Israel and the worldly kingdoms of man.

The testimony of Jesus and the spirit of prophecies. we can therefore conclude that half a week has a period of 1260 years, referring to the covenant with Abraham, and a seven or a week taking into account Jesus' sacrifice has a total of 2520 years, with the end of the covenant cut in half a week of 1260 years, just as Jesus was cut in half of a week of 1260 days, the period of the nations begins, or of Babylon the great and her harlots, in this case the harlots are those who came after the fall of Babylon, the Medes and the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans, with the end of this period of time and the beginning of the times of the Gentiles, or the other half of the week that was cut off by Babylon the Great and her harlots. The times are as follows: one time (1260 years or half a week), 2 times or double the time (2520 years a complete week) and half a time (the other half of the week or the 42 months of times of the Gentiles, which in days are 1260 days, which taking into account the pact for a week would be the other half of the week that was cut off by Babylon and her harlots. The prophecy is definitely talking about both he more relatively (to Daniel) imminent destruction of Jerusalem and the future Revelations time. Its quite parallel with how Jesus described both the destruction of Jerusalem and the end times in the same prophecy
It sounds like when he talks about Jesus himself being the temple, which spiritually he is, he’s adhering to replacement theology, where in God doesn’t have a final score to settle with the nation of Israel but that the church itself has become Israel. And that’s the part I can’t get on board with. Unless I’m understanding wrong about what he is saying.
I think your last statement is mature. I also think if you were to ask Alistair if he was teaching (or even believed) replacement theology he would respond in the negative. Unfortunately, today, name calling interferes with a right understanding of what others are saying. More importantly, it obscures Scripture. For what truly matters is, “What saith the Lord?” Don’t you agree? I hope so. 1. The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 covers a period of “seventy weeks.” This period applies to one complete, sequential block of time. This prophecy would start during the Persian period and would end during the time of the Messiah. 2. Logic requires that the 70th week follow immediately after the 69th week. If it does not, then it cannot properly be called the 70th week! 3. It is illogical to insert a 2,000-year gap between the 69th and the 70th week. No hint of this gap is found in the prophecy itself. There is no gap between the first 7 weeks and the following 62 weeks. Why insert one between the 69th and the 70th week? 4. Daniel 9:27 says nothing about a seven-year period of tribulation, or about any Antichrist 5. The focus of this prophecy is the Messiah, not the Antichrist. Modern interpreters have applied “the people of the prince” who would come to “destroy the city and the sanctuary” (verse 26) to the Antichrist. Yet the text does not say this. In the past, that sentence has been applied to the Romans, who under Prince Titus did “destroy the city and the sanctuary” in'‘A.D. 70 6. “He shall confirm the covenant.” Jesus Christ came “to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.” Romans 15:8. Nowhere in the Bible is Antichrist ever said to make or confirm a covenant with anyone! The word “covenant” always applies to the Messiah, never to the Antichrist! 7. “He shall confirm the covenant with many.” Jesus said, “This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.” Matthew 26:28. Jesus used the same words, because He knew that He was fulfilling Daniel 9:27! 8. “In the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” The 70th week was from A.D. 27 to 34. After three and a half years of ministry, Christ died in A.D. 31, “in the midst [middle] of the week.” At the moment of His death, “the veil of the temple was rent [torn] in twain from the top to the bottom.” Matthew 27. The Great Sacrifice had been offered! 9. “For the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” Jesus plainly applied this “abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet” (Matthew 24:15) to the time when His followers were to flee from Jerusalem before the destruction of the second temple in A.D. 70. Jesus told His 12 disciples, “When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies [the Roman armies led by Prince Titus], then know that its desolation is near.” Luke 21:20, emphasis added. Those disciples did “see” those very events. Christ’s very last words to the Pharisees from inside the second temple were, “Behold, (Your house is left unto you desolate.” Matthew 23:38. Thus Daniel’s prophecy about Jerusalem becoming “desolate” was exactly fulfilled in A.D. 70! Jesus understood this perfectly. 10. Gabriel said that the 70'week prophecy specifically applied to the Jewish people (see Daniel 9:24). During the period of Christ’s public ministry of 3 1/2 years, the Master’s focus was largely upon “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 10:6). After His resurrection and then for another 3 1/2 years, His disciples preached mostly to Jews (see Acts 1-6). After that second 3 1/2-year period, in 34 A.D., the bold Stephen was stoned by the Jewish Sanhedrin (see Acts 7). This infamous deed marked the then-ruling Jewish leaders’ final, official rejection of the gospel of our Savior. Then the gospel went to the Gentiles. In Acts 9, Saul became Paul, the “apostle to the Gentiles” (Romans 11:13). In Acts 10, God gave Peter a vision revealing it was now time to preach to the Gentiles(see Acts l0:1-28). Read also Acts (l3:46) Thus approximately 3 1/2 years after the crucifixion-and at the end of the 70-week prophecy given for the Jewish people-the gospel shifted to the Gentiles exactly as predicted in Bible prophecy.
Of course, Daniel, as a Jew, understood those "years" in the Hebrew calendar. So, I'm sure he understood the numbers pretty well, ion contrast to our Julian, solar calendar.
This is a difficult passage to understand. Only the Holy Spirit can illuminate our minds and souls to understand it. Alistair Begg does a wonderful job of sharing this word. I have studied this for many years and agree with his understanding. Prophecy has a way of repeating itself. It’s true of AD 70 and it will happen again. The antichrist has to play a part in this and if you read Matthew 24, Jesus also speaks of a future abomination of desolation standing the Holy Place. These things are sealed up until the latter days, then it will be obvious to those who are looking. I believe we are now living in the days leading up to Daniels 70th week. The birth pangs are happening. The contractions are getting closer together. The world has never been so far from God. Society is broken, morally corrupt, godlessness reigns everywhere. Man has become his own god. The world is ripe for antichrist to appear, the man of lawlessness. Apostasy will come first, a falling away. This can only come from those who know Jesus. Sinners cannot become apostate. They cannot fall away from something they have never known. Then the antichrist will be revealed, but only to those who are looking. The world will not recognise him as such, but the Church will. When the treaty is signed with the Jewish nation, the 70th week will begin. I believe the Church will go through it and the Lord Jesus Christ will send His angels to gather His elect from the 4 winds after the tribulation of those days as stated in Matthew 24 v31. Then the wrath of God will be poured out mankind. Let us continue to witness the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the lost and pray that many will come to know Him in these last days. The book of Daniel is a spiritual allegory. It is not meant to be taken literally but certain patterns and principles are to be learned from it. Taking it literally has led to some of the worst cults and horrific movements throughout history.
Forgive me if I misunderstood you. You said, “There is no holy land” at 40:36. Please consider: Zec 2:12 And the Lord will possess Judah as His portion in THE HOLY LAND, and will again choose Jerusalem.
I also believe that Israel is the Holy land. It is the special land for His bride Israel. Also another temple must be built for sacrifice and offering to take place. My logic says that this needs to happen as not all Jewish people are saved and they still want a temple. This all will be signs for Christians to consider during the tribulation.

For a start....Get a KJV and define every word in Greek. The Holy city is Heavenly Jerusalem that John sees coming down from Heaven in Revelation 21...to anoint the most holy are the Bride. Revelation 21:2-3 [2]And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3]And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
In conclusion; if we remove the lies of false prophet spaul. What we have is a clear message that is perfect in interpretation; That Messiah came, Taught and Obeyed Heavenly Fathers' Law. He suffered, died and was resurrected; and prophesy was sealed until now (the time of the end). Now we are to cast of the lies of rome/spaul and the 26 greek books in the New Testament; pray and encourage Judah to receive Messiah and Bless Him in The Name of YRYR... Is the New Covenant found in Daniel chapter 9? Are we supposed to believe the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel to reveal the timeline of the Messiah who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and then the angel failed to even mention the New Covenant. Or, is the covenant with the many in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the many in Matthew 26:28? The 1599 Geneva Bible is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America, before John Darby showed up on our shores. The death of the Messiah is found in Daniel 9:26, and there are only two possible singular antecedents for the word “he” in the next verse. Does the author of the Book of Hebrews connect the New Covenant with the Messiah’s death found in Daniel 9:26, in the verse below? Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. (NKJV) Verse 26 also says the Messiah would be cut off “after” the 69 weeks. If I agree to paint your house “after” 69 weeks, it will not be painted until the 70th week, or after. Is there a “gap” of almost 2,000 years between the 69th week and the 70th week, or was it fulfilled during the first century when the Gospel was preached “first” to the Jews? We know there is a time period when the Gospel was taken “first” to the Jews, as the Apostle Paul said in the verse below. Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Can we find a time period of about seven years when the Gospel was taken “first” to Daniel’s people during the first century? If we can, we have good evidence that the 70th week of Daniel has already been fulfilled. Did Christ command His disciples to take the Gospel only to Israel in the passage below? Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Mat 10:7 And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Is the time period when the Gospel was preached “first” (Rom. 1:16) to the Jews in the passage above, confirmed in the passage below? Act 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) Act 10:37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. In the passage above Luke confirms the fact that the Gospel of Christ was preached throughout the land of Israel after the baptism which John preached. Here again, we have a text which reveals a time period when the Gospel was taken “first” to the Jews, as Paul said in Romans 1:16. Bible scholars have looked at the number of Passover celebrations in the Gospels and have estimated Christ’s earthly ministry to have lasted about three and one half years. Was the Gospel taken “first” (Rom. 1:16) to the Jews for a period of about three and one half years during the period of time revealed in the Gospels? In Galatians 1:14-18 Paul reveals he did not go up to see Peter until about 3 years after his conversion. During that time the Gospel continued to be taken almost exclusively to Daniel's people, before Paul took the Gospel to the Gentiles. Read the recent book "The 70th Week of Daniel 9 DECODED" by David Wilcoxson for confirmation of the above.
The 70 weeks begin with the 3rd decree by Artaxerxes to build and restore Jerusalem, specific to the walls and streets of Jerusalem ... not the temple. This decree was given in the 20th year of his reign about 452 BC. After 7 weeks (49 years) the walls and streets were rebuilt (read Nehemiah). After an additional 62 weeks (434 years) ... Messiah is Cut off (at the cross). Then, in Dan 9:26, the city and temple is destroyed ... which is fulfilled in 70AD. Next, one week remains, the 70th week of Dan 9:27. This will be in the near future and begins when the Antichrist confirms a covenant with many and will encourage the Jews to build the third temple. The third temple cannot be built without the Antichrist's confirmation of a covenant. The temple as it relates to the 70th week is not the body of Jesus. It will be an actual temple in Jerusalem. For this read, St. Cyril of Jerusalem (313-386AD), "Catechetical Lectures", Lecture 7. For the 70 weeks read, St. Irenaeus (ca180 AD), "Against Heresies", book 5. And, St. Hyppolytus of Rome (ca 200AD) "On Daniel" and "On the End of the World." Also, Finis Jennings Dake, "The Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ."

Completely agree with you Alistair Begg. Types and shadows, more than one fulfillment. Just as the plagues of Egypt are similar to the judgments in Revelation. Seeing as we do now in 2019 that the preparation for third temple is well planned for and ongoing, we see that 'putting an end to sacrifice' is yet to come. Because there are those who do not understand that Jesus put an end to sacrifice by HIS sacrifice. Alistair, you are the teacher that I most respect and listen to above any other ( besides Christ Himself of course!)

The best way to end the 70 week of Daniel is to say that we don't know the correct interpretation of the last one week.
Every video on this subject seems to start off with a promise that the interpretation of the 70 weeks is know. However everybody starts waffling when they reach the 70th week.
It will be good if those who produce videos on the 70 weeks of Daniel put out a disclaimer saying that they have no idea of the interpretation of the 70th week.

I think Alastair Begg is correct. Daniel 9 vv 24-27 deal *only* with the period up to 70AD. Those who argue that there is a huge gap between the end of the 69th week and 70th week are plain wrong. Can I recommend a paper by Herman Goldwag, a Jew who converted to Christ. He said (and I think proves) that (unusually) the King James translation does *not* translate the Hebrew words accurately. He also suggests that there is a query about the date of Artaxerxes' third decree. Goldwag argues: The 69 weeks ended at the *coming* of Christ, i.e. when He was presented to the people (month of Tishri, 29AD), when, at age 30, He began His Ministry. Then, Messiah was 'cut off' half way through the 70th week (His crucifixion). On this analysis, the second half of the 70th week finished in Tishri, 36AD, I.e. 3.5 years later. That *could* possibly refer to the moment Cornelius, the first Gentile, was converted, that being the moment when God authorised the mass conversion of the Gentiles. Begg's analysis, with which I agree, means that all those, like Irving, Darby, Scofield and others, especially those in the Brethren and pre-Millennial camps, who invented the 'gap' between the 69th and 70th weeks, are utterly wrong in their understanding of these verses.
The book of Daniel was not intended to help us spiritualize the times then with the times we now endure. It was a detailed account of the prophetic future of God’s dispensations with the dealings of Israel and the worldly kingdoms of man.

The prophecy is definitely talking about both he more relatively (to Daniel) imminent destruction of Jerusalem and the future Revelations time. Its quite parallel with how Jesus described both the destruction of Jerusalem and the end times in the same prophecy
It sounds like when he talks about Jesus himself being the temple, which spiritually he is, he’s adhering to replacement theology, where in God doesn’t have a final score to settle with the nation of Israel but that the church itself has become Israel. And that’s the part I can’t get on board with. Unless I’m understanding wrong about what he is saying.
No that is not replacement theology. The gentiles were grafted in to Israel. They do not replace them.
I think your last statement is mature. I also think if you were to ask Alistair if he was teaching (or even believed) replacement theology he would respond in the negative. Unfortunately, today, name calling interferes with a right understanding of what others are saying. More importantly, it obscures Scripture. For what truly matters is, “What saith the Lord?” Don’t you agree? I hope so. Joshua 5:13 and Jeremiah 9:23
1. The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 covers a period of “seventy weeks.” This period applies to one complete, sequential block of time. This prophecy would start during the Persian period and would end during the time of the Messiah.
2. Logic requires that the 70th week follow immediately after the 69th week. If it does not, then it cannot properly be called the 70th week!
3. It is illogical to insert a 2,000-year gap between the 69th and the 70th week. No hint of this gap is found in the prophecy itself. There is no gap between the first 7 weeks and the following 62 weeks. Why insert one between the 69th and the 70th week?
4. Daniel 9:27 says nothing about a seven-year period of tribulation, or about any Antichrist
5. The focus of this prophecy is the Messiah, not the Antichrist. Modern interpreters have applied “the people of the prince” who would come to “destroy the city and the sanctuary” (verse 26) to the Antichrist. Yet the text does not say this. In the past, that sentence has been applied to the Romans, who under Prince Titus did “destroy the city and the sanctuary” in'‘A.D. 70
6. “He shall confirm the covenant.” Jesus Christ came “to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.” Romans 15:8. Nowhere in the Bible is Antichrist ever said to make or confirm a covenant with anyone! The word “covenant” always applies to the Messiah, never to the Antichrist!
7. “He shall confirm the covenant with many.” Jesus said, “This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.” Matthew 26:28. Jesus used the same words, because He knew that He was fulfilling Daniel 9:27!
8. “In the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” The 70th week was from A.D. 27 to 34. After three and a half years of ministry, Christ died in A.D. 31, “in the midst [middle] of the week.” At the moment of His death, “the veil of the temple was rent [torn] in twain from the top to the bottom.” Matthew 27. The Great Sacrifice had been offered!
9. “For the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” Jesus plainly applied this “abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet” (Matthew 24:15) to the time when His followers were to flee from Jerusalem before the destruction of the second temple in A.D. 70. Jesus told His 12 disciples, “When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies [the Roman armies led by Prince Titus], then know that its desolation is near.” Luke 21:20, emphasis added. Those disciples did “see” those very events. Christ’s very last words to the Pharisees from inside the second temple were, “Behold, (Your house is left unto you desolate.” Matthew 23:38. Thus Daniel’s prophecy about Jerusalem becoming “desolate” was exactly fulfilled in A.D. 70! Jesus understood this perfectly.
10. Gabriel said that the 70'week prophecy specifically applied to the Jewish people (see Daniel 9:24). During the period of Christ’s public ministry of 3 1/2 years, the Master’s focus was largely upon “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 10:6). After His resurrection and then for another 3 1/2 years, His disciples preached mostly to Jews (see Acts 1-6). After that second 3 1/2-year period, in 34 A.D., the bold Stephen was stoned by the Jewish Sanhedrin (see Acts 7). This infamous deed marked the then-ruling Jewish leaders’ final, official rejection of the gospel of our Savior. Then the gospel went to the Gentiles. In Acts 9, Saul became Paul, the “apostle to the Gentiles” (Romans 11:13). In Acts 10, God gave Peter a vision revealing it was now time to preach to the Gentiles(see Acts l0:1-28). Read also Acts (l3:46) Thus approximately 3 1/2 years after the crucifixion-and at the end of the 70-week prophecy given for the Jewish people-the gospel shifted to the Gentiles exactly as predicted in Bible prophecy.
Of course, Daniel, as a Jew, understood those "years" in the Hebrew calendar. So, I'm sure he understood the numbers pretty well, ion contrast to our Julian, solar calendar.
This is a difficult passage to understand. Only the Holy Spirit can illuminate our minds and souls to understand it. Alistair Begg does a wonderful job of sharing this word. I have studied this for many years and agree with his understanding. Prophecy has a way of repeating itself. It’s true of AD 70 and it will happen again. The antichrist has to play a part in this and if you read Matthew 24, Jesus also speaks of a future abomination of desolation standing the Holy Place. These things are sealed up until the latter days, then it will be obvious to those who are looking. I believe we are now living in the days leading up to Daniels 70th week. The birth pangs are happening. The contractions are getting closer together. The world has never been so far from God. Society is broken, morally corrupt, godlessness reigns everywhere. Man has become his own god. The world is ripe for antichrist to appear, the man of lawlessness. Apostasy will come first, a falling away. This can only come from those who know Jesus. Sinners cannot become apostate. They cannot fall away from something they have never known. Then the antichrist will be revealed, but only to those who are looking. The world will not recognise him as such, but the Church will. When the treaty is signed with the Jewish nation, the 70th week will begin. I believe the Church will go through it and the Lord Jesus Christ will send His angels to gather His elect from the 4 winds after the tribulation of those days as stated in Matthew 24 v31. Then the wrath of God will be poured out mankind. Let us continue to witness the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the lost and pray that many will come to know Him in these last days. The book of Daniel is a spiritual allegory.
It is not meant to be taken literally but certain patterns and principles are to be learned from it.
Taking it literally has led to some of the worst cults and horrific movements throughout history.
Forgive me if I misunderstood you. You said, “There is no holy land” at 40:36. Please consider: Zec 2:12 And the Lord will possess Judah as His portion in THE HOLY LAND, and will again choose Jerusalem.
I also believe that Israel is the Holy land. It is the special land for His bride Israel. Also another temple must be built for sacrifice and offering to take place. My logic says that this needs to happen as not all Jewish people are saved and they still want a temple. This all will be signs for Christians to consider during the tribulation.

The Holy city is Heavenly Jerusalem that John sees coming down from Heaven in Revelation 21...to anoint the most holy are the Bride.

Is the New Covenant found in Daniel chapter 9?
Are we supposed to believe the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel to reveal the timeline of the Messiah who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and then the angel failed to even mention the New Covenant. Or, is the covenant with the many in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the many in Matthew 26:28? The 1599 Geneva Bible is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America, before John Darby showed up on our shores. What was the earlier understanding of Daniel 9:27 found below in the notes of the 1599 Geneva Bible?

During recent years many New Covenant scholars have examined Daniel chapter 9 from a New Covenant perspective. Did Christ fulfill the summary found in Daniel 9:24? Is it about the New Covenant fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary?
Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (These two verses are quoted from Jeremiah 31:31-34.)

The death of the Messiah is found in Daniel 9:26, and there are only two possible singular antecedents for the word “he” in the next verse. Those antecedents are either Christ or Titus, who was the prince of the people that destroyed the temple during 70 AD.
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Is the “he” in Daniel 9:27 the “Messiah”, or “the prince” of the people that destroyed the city and the sanctuary in verse 26? If we used “the people of the prince” it would not be a singular “he”.
Does the author of the Book of Hebrews connect the New Covenant with the Messiah’s death found in Daniel 9:26, in the verse below?
Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. (NKJV)
Verse 26 also says the Messiah would be cut off “after” the 69 weeks. If I agree to paint your house “after” 69 weeks, it will not be painted until the 70th week, or after. Is there a “gap” of almost 2,000 years between the 69th week and the 70th week, or was it fulfilled during the first century when the Gospel was preached “first” to the Jews?
We know there is a time period when the Gospel was taken “first” to the Jews, as the Apostle Paul said in the verse below.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Can we find a time period of about seven years when the Gospel was taken “first” to Daniel’s people during the first century? If we can, we have good evidence that the 70th week of Daniel has already been fulfilled.
Did Christ command His disciples to take the Gospel only to Israel in the passage below?
Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.
Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Is the time period when the Gospel was preached “first” (Rom. 1:16) to the Jews in the passage above, confirmed in the passage below?

In the passage above Luke confirms the fact that the Gospel of Christ was preached throughout the land of Israel after the baptism which John preached. Here again, we have a text which reveals a time period when the Gospel was taken “first” to the Jews, as Paul said in Romans 1:16.
Bible scholars have looked at the number of Passover celebrations in the Gospels and have estimated Christ’s earthly ministry to have lasted about three and one half years. Was the Gospel taken “first” (Rom. 1:16) to the Jews for a period of about three and one half years during the period of time revealed in the Gospels?
In Galatians 1:14-18 Paul reveals he did not go up to see Peter until about 3 years after his conversion. During that time the Gospel continued to be taken almost exclusively to Daniel's people, before Paul took the Gospel to the Gentiles.
Read the recent book "The 70th Week of Daniel 9 DECODED" by David Wilcoxson for confirmation of the above.
The 70 weeks begin with the 3rd decree by Artaxerxes to build and restore Jerusalem, specific to the walls and streets of Jerusalem ... not the temple. This decree was given in the 20th year of his reign about 452 BC.
After 7 weeks (49 years) the walls and streets were rebuilt (read Nehemiah).
After an additional 62 weeks (434 years) ... Messiah is Cut off (at the cross).
Then, in Dan 9:26, the city and temple is destroyed ... which is fulfilled in 70AD.
Next, one week remains, the 70th week of Dan 9:27. This will be in the near future and begins when the Antichrist confirms a covenant with many and will encourage the Jews to build the third temple. The third temple cannot be built without the Antichrist's confirmation of a covenant. The temple as it relates to the 70th week is not the body of Jesus. It will be an actual temple in Jerusalem. For this read, St. Cyril of Jerusalem (313-386AD), "Catechetical Lectures", Lecture 7.
For the 70 weeks read, St. Irenaeus (ca180 AD), "Against Heresies", book 5.
And, St. Hyppolytus of Rome (ca 200AD) "On Daniel" and "On the End of the World."
