I agree with you but i also wonder why do we produce sebum if we don't need it.

same reason we produce body order and hairy armpits. 🤣

I enjoy a few drops of organic hemp seed oil on my face once or twice a week.

it does feel nice on the skin, but long term may not be so good unless you are naturally very dry

@@theocbeautymd good to know. I noticed if I overuse, I get breakouts. What do you suggest to use on face for facial massage?

    Are you a board-certified dermatologist?

She discusses her certifications, training and background on her website.
No, she isn’t a board certified dermatologist

no but I learned this from well respected board certified dermatologists and formulators. I'm a board certified aesthetic radiologist

@@theocbeautymd with all due respect, if I’m not mistaken the only ABR recognized certifications are Diagnostic, Interventional, Medical Physics and Radiation Oncology. There are subspecialties that require additional training and exam: hospice/palliative, nuclear radiology, pain medicine, pediatric radiology and neuroradiology.

@@theocbeautymdThat’s quite interesting because it’s standardly taught to upcoming physicians specializing in dermatology that sebum provides an integral role in maintaining the skin’s protective ability against transepidermal water loss and pathogens.

wow you've mixed up a lot of things here! There are many subspecialties across radiology that are recognized, some require additional exams and others don't. These specialties are acquired in fellowship after a 5 year radiology residency and the ABR only requires exams for some.
While medical physics is under ABR, it is not part of medicine, it is pure physics and the specialists in this field are physicists, not medical doctors. Radiation Oncology is an entirely different residency altogether and not part of radiology even though it's under ABR. Hospice and palliative is a fellowship after an internal medicine of family medicine residency so completely different training after medical school. I can see how this could be confusing to people.@@Jennifer-uc2oh
