- Abandoned Taco Bueno - Fort Worth, TX. Another example from a chain struggling. Based on feedback from the last Taco Bueno video, the company filed for bankruptcy last year hence several locations closing.

I worked at this Bueno back in the 90s I was sad about Bueno's closing but to see the one I worked at closed made me more sad☹ Bueno was my first job when I was in high school😩 And it's been closed since 2016! I didn't know that! That shows how long it's been since I've been on that side of town!
That is the taco bueno down the road from where I work. That one was difficult to get to. That one closed September of 2018., there was another one that closed same time it was farther down Camp Bowie.
There is now a chain link fence up around the Taco Bueno. More often than not when the fence goes up, the building is coming down.
After the first closed Taco Bueno I had looked up locations for the state's these are in & number of locations in those states. I hadn't known started in Abilene, Texas in 1967 (yes the year I was born). I've not heard of these restaurants until Lubbock got them & then eventually closed all the locations in Lubbock several years ago. Thank you for sharing Wallie and Kayla! 🙂👍
I used to go there sometimes.. I'm from Lake Como Texas and I used to work at the Texaco next to this place.. I liked the way this place looks too, takes you back in time.. last time I remember going there was like in 2008 when I was in high school
Many of my relatives just got tired of freezing in Pennsylvania and moved south , WAY south .

That looks like the one off of Camp Bowie. I always wondered what happened to it because I would go there in the 80's and 90's.
Definitely do not make them like that anymore, all boring boxes now, good video wallie.

Wallie and Kayla, I agree with you about the esthetics of newer restaurants versus the old school versions. Newer built restaurants are lacking for sure.

I was SOOO UPSET they closed ALL 3 of them near me, (this one, the one further on Camp Bowie and another near Ridgemar Mall)😞 Now I have to travel long ways just to go to one.😞

Bueno was my go to place in the 90's. Best fast food salsa IMVHO. So good you could put it on your eggs the next morning or drink it straight from a shot glass. Hopefully Sun Holdings the company that bought them after Bueno filed for bankruptcy gives them a new look and appeal that will reinvigorate and sustain the franchise. Please keep the menu intact! (especially the salsa and bean burritos!) Forever a bueno head.

Actually Dallas/Ft.Worth does get snow as ice. Sometimes they get snow or ice more than West Texas. I love it when we get snow if we don't get missed. Your right about the buildings all shoe box look. I like this design too. 👍🙂

Goodvideo it's sad Taco Bueno filed bankruptcy never knew about this chain sense the last video closest i know is Taco bell i guess i can't get 4 tacos because this taco bueno is permanently closed.

The Original Taco Bueno building is still standing on South 1st in Abilene. It was the best.
My first job ,was bueno,at 20 and green oaks. 91. Still open.
I've ate there many times at that location, great food. Sad some of these are closing. I hope they survive

Dang that some aesthetics on this building are awesome. This place looks 100% better than those boring shoebox places. Omg that drive thru is nice with the cove. Nothing worse than going thru drive thru and it is raining and inside the car window gets wet. It has been awhile since we have seen a drive thru skit anymore coming soon?
I live in the Fort Worth area that the westside of Fort Worth off of Jacksboro Highway and 30 that one of the okay location I can't believe they shut it down

@@adamsATSfan415 i know it had the same feel of a chi chis that's what meant the building had the same design as a chi chis i liked chi chis over Taco Bell
I ate here like 2 or 3 months before it shut down im thinking. Can't remember exactly just one day after a workout I went there thinking I'd get a chicken burrito really quickly and realized it had shut down.

I helped a friend take a Old Taco Bueno in Richardson, Texas and make it into A Moroccan restaurant..Called Marrakesh Express...

The one in Euless recently closed as well. Still had the signage up, lights on, but the drive through menu board was emptied. I finally found one open, so I could get some Party Burritos. Change the queso recipe, and it's game over. They finally changed it back. Not exactly the same, but much better. Too little too late, I suppose.
Did you happen to see the abandoned Toys R Us or Waffle House when you visited the abandoned Don Pablo's? Both not too far from there.
I've eaten at that Long John Silver's next door before. I've never seen another like that. I usually eat at the traditional looking one in Weatherford.
Wallie, you better watch yourself walking into these building where drug users or crazy people could be living and jump out at you and hurt you. You're not prepared to defend yourself with them. Even walking around the backs of these places inside fences and whatnot. Some people are nuts and might feel threatened if you spook them and thrash out at you.
