It is so nice that you actually watch and listen to the videos and not talk over them. Of course others may prefer the 'react to every second' style, but for me this is so much more pleasant.
Poor Mika. Don't worry, no hate coming to your direction. My ire is directed to whoever chose to have him voiced in that style in English. He sounds like a normal youth in Japanese. He is a niche, four star character and the trailer reflects that. He is a good lad though.
The four Sumeru guys (Cyno, Tighnari, Al-Haitham, Kaveh) are such a joy to be around. Deyah is an amazing lady in every way, except her gameplay. I fully believe that will change when we get to the next nation.
The Fontaine Crew has such amazing characters and even those who might seem insignificant have depths and the stars of the show shine all the way to the sea floor.
This is getting a bit long, but just one advice: If Meta is your thing, by all means do that. Otherwise, any character is good enough in the right team and playing with characters one likes can make the game much more fun.
I'm hoping Natlan will expand on the combat in a way that rewards Dehya as well. In retrospect it's obvious that Inazuma got abridged because NPC allies in combat were turning out to be a huge problem. This explains why we got that feature in Sumeru - a lot of the work was already done and it just wasn't balanced enough to allow putting the player in a position where you'd have to ever look after allies. A lot of the early work in Fontaine looks to me like the original goal was to implement and balance healing NPCs and that simply fell through. (Not that it's a problem given how much the new Hydro mechanics expanded the meta.) Given the themes we're expecting in Natlan, they have to be seriously working on providing more challenges in the nature of protecting a person or place - and that's what Dehya was clearly designed to do.
Mika's design is very complex once you look closer at his model, but the voice is just too nerdy, you get used to it, but is not a good for first impressions.
Can't wait for your reaction to version trailers (if you plan to do one) and also playthrough (again, if you stil plan to do it)
