Another amazing video from you two! Sure glad that the forestay fitting held until you to could reinforce it temporarily. You were very observant to notice the slack in the forestay. I can see now that the fitting design on your boat is very different from our boat. It is always best to make these critical parts out of one pc. of metal with no welds, maybe it could be machined out of a pc. of 316 SS T bar? Great to hear that you want to someday go back to Greenland, keep falling in love with the places you visit and you will be destined to sail the world forever! (grin) Thanks for sharing. J&J
Thanks Jim! Yeah not a fan of the OEM design...but it did hold so there is that! I sketched up a much more beefy design with much more material to spread the load, and had a local shop in Scotland make it up (next episode!). So far so good 🥰. Thanks for watching as always!
Good repair. However, if you find multiple cloudy days a problem then coming to the UK will have been a disappointment 🤣 Cloudy days are our normal ☁️😁
Holy Guacamole!!! You two had to be exhausted. Awesome improvisation on the problem solving. That was a real sail. A harsh reminder after fantasy island aka Greenland. You deserved a good rest after that. Keep up all the amazing work.
Very impressive guys, well done!! We're off "Popeye " house sitting for a couple of weeks in chilly Tasmania. I'd say I use 500 liters every afternoon in a steaming hot shower, but looking forward to getting back onboard soon. 👍🍻🇦🇺 @sailingpopeye
At that latitude is not easy to have a calm passage but losing the genoa was tough, would have been cool to see exactly how you temporarily fix it, you did great and save it till the end of the crossing! You guys are doing better and better, I'm sure more people will start following your adventures! 👍
What a wild ride you had guys! 💨🌊 We were super impressed at how calm you remained with the forestay issue....we are learning so much from the Panda journey. Thanks for all your hard work in putting out top class content - Pete & Deb 👍🏻🍻
Well fun thing about sailing is panicking doesn't help. Just the two of us in a big ocean to solve problems like this! Hope it brought some valuable incite. Thanks for watching and SUPPORTING! 🥰⛵❤️
This was great to watch and get perspective into what it takes to achieve such a milestone, and also the beauty of the whole experience. You guys make a great team.
Ah thanks so much for watching, and attending the premier! We were elated to complete this voyage, a big accomplishment considering how new we are to sailing. Thanks for following Apollo! 🥰⛵🐼
I'm curious about the reefing procedure. You stated that you take in on the reefing line before tightening the halyard. What's the advantage (disadvantage) doing it in this order compared to the reverse?
may little fluffy cloud's be with you
Awe thanks for the love :)
Congratulations on a very epic and stressful crossing. Welcome to the UK. Mike in Sheffield.
Thanks so much Mike! ❤️
This might be our favorite episode so far! We are inspecting our forestay as soon as we find some pants.
Haha glad you liked it! And it's always a good idea for inspection 😉
"blah blah blah whoooooosh shish howwwl wheeee" best subtitle ever ! ( you tube video of a boat called tally ho)
bahahaha, love this :)
Well Done!
Brilliant! Congratulations!
Thank you! 🥰

Bahaha...there was a lot of love 😂. Thanks guys, and maybe you'll find yourselves in Greenland someday. 🥰

Ah I don't think it matters either way. Whichever is best for the boat and condition ☺️
I’d really like to get a couple of pics of your solar arch on the Sharki….
If you'd like more details and pics please send us an inquiry to our email address
