Александр Никитин I shoot with a Leica also but I can still understand and appreciate the sentiment in his comment. Give me any camera and if I focus on the light and compensation then I’ll still take a great photo. When you’ve shot with everything part of the joy in photography is enjoying the equipment you shoot with and the Leica makes things more fun. There’s a lot of flaws in shooting a Leica so technically you can say it isn’t a fancy tool to take great photos (but it can). But you can also romanticise those faults which in turn can inspire you to create good work, too. Leica or not, you don’t need a fancy camera. That statement is true. But if he wants to shoot with a Leica and enjoy the process then so he should!
Max Fairclough I clearly understand it. I just found it a bit funny. Also, I think that no matters what camera you use. It's all about your experience and vision
JACK IS THE MANNN! I’ve taken his advice, jumped out of my comfort zone, and started a UA-cam channel to post my adventures with my wife. Our next vlog is due to drop in 45 minutes. I would love some support / feedback so please check it out. Cheers, and thank you Jack for the motivation!
Loved this video! I love that you guys used film because film photos are my absolute FAVORITE & I agree there is no better feeling then being transported back in time to that memory of when you took that specific photo, it’s personally why I love film is because of that excitement of getting those photos back & seeing how they turned out. I could go on & in about how much I love film photography & how much I love photography in general but I won’t & I’ll just say AMAZING video & photos.
As a student photographer i agree that you should see everythin within a frame even when you dont have your camera on you..it helps you practice your instinct and feelings of finding a good photograph
All those shots are incredible! Joe’s talent is unreal especially because those shots are all on the fly! Fun video and great tips! Thanks for sharing!!
The way he talks about Instagram is the way I feel about UA-cam! Even though it obviously has its faults (lol) UA-cam has given me so much in life it's kind of insane. This made me want to shoot film again....or go to NYC again....both I think. Maybe soon!
It wasnt explained why 35mm over digital? Is it to get the old school look straight from film to paper vs editing the digital to get there? Good video however!
@@hunter0527 Not only that, but you can't replicate the look with digital at all, if you think you can, you haven't shot film enough to know about it aesthetic qualities. Besides that, film surpasses digital in many technical ways as well, negative film is practically impossible to overexpose, highlight clipping is beautiful, color-science is beautiful, nothing beats a silver gelatin print and 8x10 will totally destroy the best digital Hasselblad camera there is, also, let's not forget about the archival qualities of film, it lasts for hundreds of years if take care of.
Additionally, there’s a lot to be said for the way you have to slow everything down when you’re shooting film. For example, you might only have 36 exposures on a roll of 35mm film, as opposed to digital. With that in mind a lot people find themselves to be more selective or thoughtful when shooting.
Photography for me is just for fun at the moment. I don't have a lot of time to go out and shoot but I do ALWAYS have my camera bag with me. I've done a few paid sessions. Always a blast to get candids too out on the street or in a park.
hahahah I do the same thing of taking portraits on the street and have a youtube channel around doing it. I have the same shirt as Joe, so hopefully that means ill get to meet you too Jack !
Joe be like: go, make that photo! I *1a.m., Somewhere in Siberia, 3*F outside* be like: yeah! I'm going right now! few hours later: so I went and shot some damn good shots, thanks for advice))))
Hello guys..I'm from Malaysian..I like when you take all the pictures..that was so cool and perfect..actually photography is my second hobby after novelist..
What's old is new again. A camera with film, shooting the roll, waiting to get the pictures developed to see what you got. This made me feel old but hopeful for the future at the same time. Enjoy yourself, stay healthy, aim for happy!☮❤
Film?...ya it's pretty special. Been doing it for awhile, try adapting those old film SLR lenses to your modern cameras and bridge the old and new....promise you'll love it to death.
This was an awesome and helpful video! its past 12 midnight where and I am but I swear to God I almost screamed. (@2:45) IF I HEAR THIS SAMPLE AGAIN I WILL LOSE MY SHIT. Why does every UA-camr play this music?!
this is the greatest and most inspirational video I’ve seen on my feed in a while. Seeing it a year after you uploaded it and just know it has it inspired me and gave me that push I needed to heavy jump back into photography💙 thank you

I dont consider Leica fancy, because spec wise,it's not groundbreaking,it's just well built and delivers for a LONG time...
wow such an honor

Thank you Jack & Joe. This is what I needed to start taking photographs.
Dope I’m rocking the Olympus zoom rn
This was so solid
It wasnt explained why 35mm over digital? Is it to get the old school look straight from film to paper vs editing the digital to get there? Good video however!
Because you don’t get to see what you shot until you get your film developed. Delayed gratification.
@@JackCoyne AHHHH... Patience my friend, patience. Not too many people have that anymore. Good for you guys! Keep up the good work!!

YESSSS JOE IS IS A LEGEND!!!! 😭
he is indeed a legend
and how does it focus? does it manually? it's very quick to take the picture
Jack, this one was so good. I hope their is a round two. Probably my fav of all your vlogs.
Maybe sane thing in a new city...??
Jack Coyne different city or, a landscape photographer. Some photographers are doing some sick stuff with large format and wet plate photography.

Thanks for the advice, guys!!
Love the video. I’m a big Joe Greer fan. Curious, what camera store did you guys go to at the beginning of the video?
The title of the video is extra
does somebody knows what's the store from the beginning of the video? thanks!
Joe Greer, I'm a Big Fan Of Him. Oh God He So Talented..... God Bless Him
Kinda stole the only song that Willem Verbeeck uses in all of his videos, otherwise enjoyed the video
it's a "stock" song
everybody uses it
Dope video dude. Loved this. Do more of this.
Film is not dead, love it!
what camera did joe use and what camera did you use?
Anybody know what camera store that is in the beginning?
K&M Camera
Adorama?
Do you ask before taking photos? Anyone ever get angry at you for snapping photos of them?
This was dope man! Great job on this. Joe's photos are unreal. Awesome documentation as well. Nailed it!
Yo, that black and white photo of the couple at 5:04 is great!
Such a dope video man - transporter is right.
was Joe manually focusing? If so he's got zone focusing down pat.
Awesome video!! I think the same way but with film i always view things as a frame and think “oh that would be a great shot right there”
The best in is own house, probably.
The Music, Think! apparently you haven’t seen his gallery.
I definitely think of how I shoot as “seeing in frames” if you can think about harp use framing, photography becomes easy and fun
Fucking love joe. Such a dope video
What is his camera please?
hahahah I do the same thing of taking portraits on the street and have a youtube channel around doing it. I have the same shirt as Joe, so hopefully that means ill get to meet you too Jack !
What type of camera did u use jack?
Joe be like: go, make that photo!

What film camera did Jack use?
your friend got a lot of confidence taking pictures without permission
Is your last portrait with joe also shot on the film roll camera? It looks like shot on a Pixel 3. Wow!
This was good! I definitely need to get out and shoot more photos if I want to get really good.

Did the meaning of “best” changed in the vocabulary ? He is good but nothing best
he’s 1000000x better than you so maybe tone down on the shit talk?
no one can be the best, because it's all subjective
