Ok guys love your financial path , I was a little confused at first because the first 2 reasons you brought up you also explained away with the understanding you are investing for the long term . With that said reason 3 makes sense , cash is always king and if buying a home is your next big goal then tapering on the dividend account is a good call as long as you are still doing retirement accounts as well .. Keep pushing forward you guys and you will reap the rewards !

Hey Mitch! Aweeee thank you so much! Yes totally agree with you that the first two reasons seem completely self contradicting until...... the last reason! We like to stay open minded and reflect on our investing and are excited to what this next chapter brings :)

Hey Ronnie - great question. We aren't near buying a home YET, but what we know is that we want to pay cash or ideally put down as much as possible, our minimum we have in mind to put down is 50% so we can minimize the amount of interest we would pay over the course of the loan and lower our monthly expenses with a smaller mortgage payment.

So much wrong in this video. You’re timing the market. Stocks beat inflation always. Read the Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins please.

You are right, right, right! We completely agree with this - we actually are back to investing now, but at that point in time we just wanted to work on building more cash on hand since we've been investing so aggressively. We'll have an update soon on how this affected our investing!

Sounds like you need to spend some money on yourselves and find some balance!

Haha doesn't that sound nice.... We could agree! We do live frugally but yes balance is everything! How do you find balance with saving and spending?

@@gabandbren balance is found through purpose. It is the best plan that satisfies the needs of other people, who may not even exist yet. Being unbalanced comes from focusing unnecessarily on oneself, either spending to much or saving to much.
I've saved a bunch of money, but I also have a bunch of kids and a nice house for us. Balance.
I could theoretically retire today if they make their enhanced child tax credits permanent, but it would be like you hitting 100% of your spending covered by dividends and not working anymore. It would be unbalanced.
