    I may have to revamp my 125g just to clean it up after 13 years due to too much overgrowth. The saying "Too much of a good thing" applies to being successful.

    • @Ellery-USA

      @@TheBioReef my 450g system has 6 tanks and 2 sumps. The 125g is the oldest at 13 years but most were transplanted from an 8 year old 90g when I moved in 2006. I haven't touched it since I threw everything in there. The largest colony I have is the ORA Red Planet which covers 1/3 of the top right under the center brace which will suck to move.

    I just picked up a RR/Snipers Pacman and RR Orange Passion while down here in Orlando for vacation from Top Shelf Aquatics. The RR OP is definitely the most expensive $$$ frag I ever paid for. Though not as expensive as the Rainbow Acanthophyllia I bought. Any secrets on the RR OP? I tend to be hit and miss on tenuis for some reason.

      Ellery Wong mine is doing well in 250 to 300 par. Not the fastest grower, so try to keep it away from fast growers to give it a chance to establish a large base; mine receded a bit when encroached ok by an encrusting monti. good luck ; one of my favs!

      @TheBioReef  5 років тому +1

      Thanks Majd! check out this video for my husbandry ua-cam.com/video/D3urX4WZ_C8/v-deo.html ; i did do an experiment with dosing redsea trace elements but saw no obvious benefit; here is a link to that video ua-cam.com/video/VHk2S7ldT_c/v-deo.html ; i just keep things simple with small automatic water changes (with cheap instant ocean salt), 2 part dosing using ESV B-ionic. I occasionally dose nitrate and phosphate to keep the levels where i want them.

    Great tank!! What salt are you using? Have you changed salt from the start of this tank? Does the salt you use have similar parameters to those you want to maintain, such as alkalinity?

    • @TheBioReef
      @TheBioReef  5 років тому

      i use the cheap instant ocean salt; its parameters are a bit higher than what i keep. i only briefly used seachem's new salt when i couldn't get the regular instant ocean in my LFS... that was about a year an half ago, but i managed to get back on the instant ocean salt right away
