Stone Mountain State Park - Lower Falls

Lower Falls is a 20-foot sliding rock-type waterfall located within Stone Mountain State Park. What sets it apart from Stone Mountain Falls and Middle Falls is the beautiful area around the upper part of the falls. The falls are situated on Big Sand Creek and can be reached via a trail off the main Stone Mountain Loop Trail that leads to both the Middle and Lower Falls. The Lower Falls are about 1 mile from the Stone Mountain Loop, and the trail is mainly gravel with a few moderate inclines. Hikers should be prepared to get wet as they will need to cross two different streams before reaching the falls. These falls are quite remote, so you can relish the natural beauty of the lower Stone Mountain area without as many people around.
