  • Join me on a hike on the unofficial trail to the Three Forks of the West Fork of the Chattooga River. This is a quiet walk leading from Hwy 28 east of Clayton, GA. There is a turnout just north of Walking Stick Lane. The trail is an old forest service road used by four wheelers and hikers running along Big Creek. At the end is the confluence of Big Creek, Overflow Creek, and Holcomb Creek. It is not marked but is easily found even with a number of side trails. Be prepared to use GPS for navigation. As we had a bit of rain the day before, the creeks were running high and lots of mud on the trail. Singley's Falls is at where Big Creek joins Overflow Creek and was very nice. I had to put away the phone on the side trail to the Thunder Dome Falls because it was pretty much a goat path, and the last bit was as close to vertical as I've ever been. Very nice waterfall but do not take pets or kids down that one and you'd best be very careful as it was almost a compete bushwhack on the way down and a scramble on the way back up. As always, remember to hit that like button and subscribe. Thanks for watching.
