First time I've ever seen a Saleen that wasn't in a magazine! I was SO wanting you to be allowed for an on throttle with everything, so far! Lol, we wish! My 1st out of the showroom Fox body, was a late '81 notchback; canary yellow, (*sob*) inline 3.3l 1-bbl six, with a 3-speed automatic...(this one was a parental purchase, after they felt that I'd, 'had enough fun with that V-8 Hornet X hatchback')... thank you so much for bringing us this great video, Lori!
When I was in high school from 1991 to 1995 I got a 1993 ford mustang cobra and it was red, I loved that car so much I eventually traded it for a 1996 Chevrolet impala SS which was huge mistake that I still regret to this day. I hope to find the same one I had in high school and if not hopefully by another one, it was such a cool car.
I've never been a fan of the fox body, but this review has brought back some fond memories. I had a 1984 Ford Ranger with that funky map light. I can't believe how much cars and trucks have changed from the era. From horsepower to interior, it's easy to see why vehicles are approaching that 100k dollar mark.
This is the time to buy a fox especially a saleenor cobra R. The value is just going up even on a ordinary 5.0 mustang. It's a great light weight platform for swapping. So many have been wasted to LS swaps. But now the coyote is King and people are sticking turbo or supercharged coyotes in them and running 6s in the 1/4 mile with stock bottom end.
Lori probably fought Joe off not to bid on this...would be a great compliment to the GT350R in the garage. Those buttons are straight 80s Ford, my dad's Sable had the same ones.
Joe, May I just say a friend invented a product that completely eliminates the notorious rear bumper sag on Fox Body Mustangs. It's sold on Ebay. Thank you.
Wow, a blast from the past. This would definitely be a Fox body lovers dream to own. I remember when the Ky. State Police used unmarked Fox body notchbacks. Thanks for sharing it Joe. Nicely done! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

The SSC is my favorite Saleen. I know there are faster ones, but it doesn't matter to me. I owned a '95 Cobra R years back and it was also a very cool car. I still prefer the SSC. Would love to buy one, but I know I'd never drive it as it's too special at this point. The survivors belong with collectors now, IMO.
The SSC also was the only fox that came with a 200moh speedo. The 4 cylinders only went to 85. The regular GT, LX and Cobra 5.0's went up to 140 and the SSP police car notchbacks went up to 160 in 1989-1993. And the SSP's from 92-93 came with million mile odometers.
Joe if you get a chance please review lx mustang ssp edition. My dad’s a retired cop from Texas. He would tell us how fast these mustang would zoom by them during car chases. No comparison my drive one of those boxed caprice patrol cars thanks
Like Fox-bodies?! I’ll be starting my Coyote-swap series on my ‘92 SSP on my channel soon! Love Fox-bodies! Saleens and 1993 Cobras definitely command good money these days.
I had one of these cars it was low miles and in very nice condition the interior was perfect and even signed by Steve Saleen the car was about 99% stock even the adjustable suspension still worked. I have the car for sale for a while and ended up selling it in the mid-20s these cars are way undervalued considering what they are this car has 292 horsepower which was way more then anything I can think of at the time and a two-seater with a 4 point roll cage pretty sweet and considering they only made 161 of these cars in my opinion they should be going around six figures
Sweet car Joe, it brings back memories, which I had 2 foxbodies, both hatchbacks, just love them, man it brings me back, just love these type videos, with a classic sweet car like this, well done.
I owned a 1986 Mustang GT. I believe it was the 1st EFI Mustang GT. Actually, I liked it much more than my '69 Mach 1 428 CJ. And it was 1 sec to 60 slower. Unlike my old '69, it could handle and it could stop!!!😲
@@RaitisRides yessserrrie! I really missed it. I had the stick and it ran 0-60 in the mid 6's which was quite good for that time. The grey interior with red piping looked pretty swanky. The exterior wasn't anything to get excited about. But that growl from the tail pipes warmed the soul. I traded my beloved 72 Javelin/AMX 390 for that little red Stang, but I never looked back!
