Kvenna in autumn

  • This September we took our packrafts down the river Kvenna, from west to east, in the Hardangervidda National park. This year we went a week later, and water level was real low, which made some of the white water sections a little more tricky to pass. Weather was pretty much perfect during the 6 days we spent packrafting in this beautiful part of Norway.
Like last year, we would like to point out how much human activity is affecting Norway's largest national park. Too little of the "leave not trace" mentality has been implemented which has led to a large number of private huts being spread out all over the national park. This year, we were surprised by the amount of helicopter traffic, due to hunting season, and we witness no less than 8 helicopter landings inside the park. To allow the use of helicopters to access hunting areas etc is another example of Norway's shameful approach to nature preservation.
We need to take action to save what's left of Norway's wilderness areas.

fantastisk fin film. Enig i at det er absurd å konne fly med helikopter inn på vidda.

Takker! Kvenna er uten tvil en av favorittene på Hardangervidda!
