  • Do you have a fear of spiders? We are sharing some facts about spiders to help you overcome your fear or phobia. #spider #fear #thereptarium
We can't wait to see you at The Reptarium! Bring family and friends to see our collection of animal ambassadors - snakes, alligators, tortoises, lizards, geckos, and more!
    Website: TheReptarium.com
    Facebook: / thereptarium
    Instagram: / thereptarium
    WHERE IS THE REPTARIUM LOCATED?
The Reptarium is in Southeast Michigan, and the address is 45559 Van Dyke Ave, Utica MI 48317.
    WHEN IS THE REPTARIUM OPEN?
The zoo is open for General Admission ($10 per person) Fridays (4-8 pm), Saturdays (4-9 pm), and Sundays (3-8 pm).
We are also open during the week and morning and early afternoon on weekends for private tours, private parties, private animal encounters, Zoo To You, and virtual tours. If you are interested in booking a private event or tour, please email tours@thereptarium.com or call 586-884-6941.
DO CHILDREN NEED TO PAY FOR GENERAL ADMISSION AT THE REPTARIUM?
Since COVID-19, The Reptarium has made significant changes to ensure that our reptiles, staff, and guests are safe. We are now only allowing a limited number of guests inside per hour. AT THIS TIME CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS AND AGE ARE FREE.
DO I NEED TO PAY FOR GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS BEFOREHAND ONLINE OR CAN I PURCHASE WHEN I COME TO THE ZOO?
Because we only sell a limited number of tickets per hour, we do ask that customers pre-purchase their tickets online here.
If you are in the area and would like to visit, you are always welcome to knock at the door or stand in the check-in line and ask a staff member if there are any additional spaces available for that or a later time-slot.
WHAT IF I WANT TO SPONSOR AN ANIMAL AMBASSADOR AT THE REPTARIUM?
We are so appreciative of those who choose to sponsor an animal ambassador at The Reptarium. Your sponsorship goes to the direct care of the animal ambassador that you select.
The name or organization of your choice will appear on their cage for the time sponsored and will go on a sponsorship plaque that will hang in the Reptarium. Please allow up to 14 business days for your sponsorship plaque to be made.
$100 per month or $500 per year to sponsor a Reptarium animal ambassador.
DO YOU OFFER SPECIAL PRIVATE TOURS FOR SCHOOLS OR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS?
We are so happy to have work with many schools and non-profit organizations. We have many options: in-person tours of the zoo, a zoo to your experience, or a virtual tour via zoom. Please email tours@thereptarium.com to inquiry about special pricing and booking.
I FOLLOW THE OWNER BRIAN BARCZYK ON UA-cam; WILL BRIAN BE AT THE ZOO DURING GENERAL ADMISSION?
Brian's schedule is constantly changing, and we can never guarantee when he will be at the zoo. We know he appreciates everyone's support, and Brian does try to be there as often as he can.

I’m still terrified of spiders but only smaller ones for some reason but don’t have an issue with tarantulas I’ve had quite a few over the years and handle them with no problem. True spiders give me the creeps but I’ve been desensitizing myself by keeping multiple species of spiders because I honestly love them and enjoy watching them and observing them eat and love the variety of species. Yea I have quite a few different species now and they all hunt different, web different, and look and act different which is my favorite part so hopefully soon I’ll be completely over my fear of small spiders 🤞🏼

Education is most definitely the key! I took two years researching and learning about arachnids to overcome a horrible fear. Today, I have 7 tarantulas and 2 scorpions. Wonderful creatures. Cannot wait to add more to family. Happy keeping! 🕷🦂🖤

I’m still scared of them when they are in my general vicinity but I’m slowly getting there, I would start with little jumpers as they’re small but a lot of them are brightly coloured so I can see them, would that be a good recommendation or something else

@@wasumoto457 jumpers are perfect to start with! I would interact with my wild visitors before I got my first tarantula. They are beautiful and have such fun little personalities. My son helped me get the courage to visit with the orb weavers on our porch too. Just take your time, respect them, and find the beauty in the creatures around you. You'll get there too ❤

Would love you guys to go even more in-depth with each animal. Like with spiders talk about exoskeletons and vulnerability, what they eat and what their natural predators are. Maybe even a little about how to care for each animal if you are just thinking about getting one as a pet. But, overall great video and would love more of them! You guys did awesome!

N yes asamoah was saying when you hold them you think they'd be heavy but for me it was like holding a cotton ball with legs that's how light they are.

I love this video just because of trenchless I have two of my own and these spiders I know a lot of people have no acrophobia but the spiders are amazing and quite frankly I think spiders are very fascinating but to actually learn about even these bigger spiders to me it’s really amazing and for other people to learn about these animals I love this video please make more of these kinds of videos

  • @Ksane
    @Ksane 2 роки тому

Yes, it's the random darting that throws me off, you're right. I do have a dozen Tarantulas but I don't handle them. I love making & decorating their enclosures, watching and feeding them. But if I want to sit back and watch a movie I grab a Boa or Corn snake 🥰
PS I *really like these 2 together. I think they need their own video every week or something.

When I was a kid my grandmother told me she hates all spiders. I poured water in a tarantula hole then stuck my finger in. It came out with the tarantula firmly attached. My grandmother who said she hates spiders started screaming "thats its house! It is just doing what Jesus would do!".
