ooh my goodness ! ! ! who the hell are you??...I love you all guys... excellent film-story...awesome photo-graphy and mind-blowing sound design!!! Congrats
Aw dude this short film is so fucking good. It really does dig deep and touches you heart. So so good. Every short film from the festival was good but, this one I thought was the best. So much depth, so much character, so much soul. I love it.
Its Amazing Kevin! Such a beautiful film.. its an inspiration to me and my crew. We making something like this in a pw for the university. Congratulations!
I stumbled across this short during a deep dive on youtube including a very obscure search keyword. I am blown away... that this has been sitting here for over 6 years and I am just seeing it now. "Words cannot describe" seems to be a theme in this film and holds true after watching it. Inspirational
So far, out of the finalists I've seen, Scruples has been my favorite. That was my favorite even before it entered the finals. After just seeing this for the first time, this has been the only other entry that has challenged it. Great job, Mr. Slack.
My favorite part was after he helped sell the jewelry and he washed his hands from the "sins" he had just made. It made me feel as if the movie was about a very specific topic, and made me think of Pontius Pilate and when he washed his hands. Great cinematography and excellent moral and lighting! Good job, great movie!
This is what I got from the short: Yes, I believe the drought of nature was symbolic of the old man's life. He was basically waiting to die. He was without his true love and each time she appeared she was happy because she knew that he would soon join her. Right before it began to pour, she was laughing and very happy. This film did what it should: It made you feel, made you relate to the characters and reflect about your own life. Great job.
I don't know much about films to be honest. The last one I watch was Mean Girls for the 6th time. But this was beautiful and amazing. I voted for this short film! Mr. Lyndeck was brilliant! Best of luck to you all!
Hi, This is my all time fav short film ...i like the look and lighting of the film I am currently working for my first short film. If you dun mind, can i know few things as to which camera was used. Lighting techniques...colour correction etc. Can i know how to achieve the total look of the film?...can i have your email id?
Hey, glad you enjoyed it! The ending is more the idea that he was loyal and patient and because of that it paid off for him in the end. There are also a few theories from people that it didnt really rain, that he actually dies in the end. Or that it didnt really rain, that was just his imagination showing him what he really wanted to see. I won't validate the theories one way or another because I like leaving it open. Nobody really learned a moral lesson but I don't think that's necessary
thanks to everyone that voted, watched and supported us and this film. The trip to the Venice Film Festival was unbelievable and we couldn't have ended up there without all of your help!
I loved when he flips the "Queen of hearts" in front of his wife's picture. the kind of details that make the difference but the direction overall isn't flawless.
Loved the video, kinda slow in the beginning but the score kept me interested. The ending reaction was amazing. What camera & editing software was used?

really great had a lot of emotions that felt really authentic, when the other stand owner tried to help the old man or the old mans struggles during his daily life, but I don't get the ending? was it supposed to be symbolic of something? I understood that it started raining thus ending the drought but it didn't seem that any of the character learned some kind of an moral lesson.
Wonderfully executed, touching, though a bit slow moving. I feel like the ending was to short and simple, it seemed like the director wanted to go for a more symbolic ending. But some things just don't need one. Jonas was a character that I wanted to see pull through to the end. I know that the ending infers that, but I wanted to see it IN the film. Nice job though. 4/5
tbh.. the ending made me just go wtf did i just watch... the short movie was great, but the ending either went way over my head, or was completely un thought of... anyways... gl in future projects

Beautiful cinematography!
It made me cry. But at the end, that was pure joy. Amazing acting! Loved it!

OH my God.....this is so beautiful...thank you Kevin. Thank you.
I love it! The actor- the old man carried the film so well! He's so talented!
This brought me a few sad feelings and then a cherry on top when it started to finally rain.

Loved it! Few movies I remember and this one I won't forget.
The last scene is a cherry on top of a delightful and very well shot Short. :D
This was awesome! I'm currently going through all of the videos and this is one of the best so far!
Wow. Just, wow. words cannot describe this awsomeness.

Great job.
The moral lesson he was taught was that faith (in this case that the rain would come back) will always be rewarded.
absolutely beautiful, it made me shed a tear. I hope you win
Incredible!
thanks so much, glad you enjoyed!
Kevin Slack I did school work on this movie about drought. I almost cried! The movie was incredible, you did such a good job!
very flattered, that's great to here. Thanks again!
Hi Kevin. Simply poetry in motion...

Thanks for the reply...will try to rent it
Decent video. I liked the whole video. Well thought out. There really is a God.

A little poetic masterpiece! Only 25.187 views? Well, imma be sharing the hell out of it :-)
The character was the moral lesson. A lesson in loyalty. That's what I got from it at least.
thanks, really glad you liked it!
wow thanks! Really happy you liked it
this iss truly touching :)

when it rains, it pours!
brilliAnt.
well said :)
this film would've won if Terrence Malick was on the judging panel.
If he lived in canada he wouldn't have ran out of medication like that lol.
tbh.. the ending made me just go wtf did i just watch... the short movie was great, but the ending either went way over my head, or was completely un thought of... anyways... gl in future projects
watched it wish i just would of stayed listing to tech nine
Nice, but very strange story.
Dude looks like Karl Havoc lol
no offense i loved vid but could it be a bit louder next time?
it rained :')
yeah I know the crater of the film told me already.
Professionally made. Good script. EXTREMELY predictable. A bit unexplained. I give it a B-
I dont think it was, it could have been a story about how he is just hallucinating cos of the drought, but it werent, it was about faith, so shush
favorite comment :)
because then the video would be about God.
Meh
