Seriously, there's much more to this than our special superiority, if such exists. The gazelle can tell whether the cheetah is stalking dinner or sauntering home. They simulate the sensory environment of the cheetah and and project a future from it. We humans just create longer narratives for our simulations of the world around us and we can get more folds in the tale. What Uncle Joe will say about Cousin Bob's new girlfriend once he meets her won't be repeated in church.
Im interested in doing some research on the neurology of empathy, specifically those with some type of deficiency. Any suggestions or recommended resources ?
Dog nobody knows what the fuck you are saying. Mirror neurons give primates the ability to understand why someone or something is performing a particular action. Like moving your hand to drink water. That’s fuckin it
The feeling is understanding. You understand why he’s moving his hand up and down (to drink his water). before that he moved his hand up and down similarly for no apparent reason (confusion). It’s not fucking rocket science
My dog can anticipate my intentions each time I get a suitcase and start packing. He knows I am leaving and will be back in a couple of weeks. He doesn't like this. How smart is that?
It depends on the audience. Between two scientists of the same field, they probably wouldn’t want to constantly clarify what they are saying to the other person. But to a general audience, it’s really helpful to be very mindful to not use any words that don’t make sense to someone who hasn’t studied the field. But if it’s necessary to use words like that, you have to clearly define them in layman’s terms.
You don’t need to understand anything to be consciously aware, you just are. Be thankful for your brain that took 4 billion fucking years of evolution and SHUT UP
Im a psychopath. God fried all of my neurons when he was preparing my first breakfast. // The problem is, i think he did it on purpose. I’m afraid that God….is _just like me._
Why we watch boring games like football, our mirror neurons are the ones having a good time, firing away in a faked body experience of actually playing the game !
We also often get the intention wrong. It's just memory. for some if you raise your hand they will assume that you want to hit them, others not. What a load of crap! And they give degrees for this?
Not at all. Your kind of thinking is dangerous and perpetuates problems across the globe. It isn’t homosexual to have understanding for others and make them feel valued.
That was the best drink of water I've ever seen...
🔥🔥 Comment 🔥🔥
ikr😂
😢😂😂
It's also the reason we yawn when we see someone else yawn. Finally we know why yawning is contagious!
I yawned when I read this hahaha
Why isnt everything else contagious then lol
@@katyp855 same haha I just yawned. I also yawn when my cats yawn sometimes. Mirror neurons also work between species
Mathilde Barsotti I love a bit of mirror neuron action between species 😬
Made me yawn
This was so perfect I'm going to cry. I understood everything he said. So concise!!
... and very possibly misleading.
That was fantastic!!! summarized and to the point, great.
1.25x speed for best results.

Lol, so that the video would end
I was thinking the same 💭.

He explained it better than my Professor ! Teaching is definitely an art !
This was a perfect explanation! Starlight to the point and not beating around the bush. Well done, Dr. 👍❤

so this is what marketers do when they show someone eating. it makes you want to also eat a MC Donald's cheeseburger for example
Haha definitely not. If anything it’s the opposite, maybe that’s just me ;\

YEAH SCIENCEE!!

Woe to the poor monkey who started it all and doesn't get credit for inventing empathy.

+Christopher Dahl Hahahaha!
No mention of the man who discovered mirror neurons, either.
who else wanted to drink water when he did??
when he stated drinking water, i started drinking water too whaaaaaa
Not the point of the video but ok
Brb getting a drink of water.
wow, that is SO cool.

Just starting a literature review on this exact topic! Any interesting findings?
I’ve been following James True Live on UA-cam 3 years he goes very deep into these topics
high pitched sound during interview
what has the creation of the human capacity to imitate to do with the intention?

Thank you.
Why'd I find myself sayin 'yea, drink that shit boi'
I honestly had no change in feeling better no water and having the water. Am I broken?

when i hear about mirror neurons it makes me think of sharingan
This is actually pretty wild
"oh hey toby could you close the door on your way out"
For that reason asmr videos r addictive I guess !

jcrnda That's basic conditioning.
I think your dog is smarter than this doctor :)
Alguém tem esse vídeo legendado em português, francês ou Espanhol por favor?
It doesn't work on me..why!!! I have tried reading with people but even though all reading I just can't
Wtf are you trying to say
Who else suddenly felt thirsty while watching this video?
fun fact: Spiegel means "mirror" in German.
😂😂
Das erklärt alles!
xD
Does that mean that seers - those who can predict things have like 🤔their brain full of just 😮mirror neurons? 🤔🤔
very interesting
Seers don’t exist stupid. Nobody can see the fucking future because it didn’t fucking happen yet Jesus Christ

Like when academic psychologists speak, i get so bored and feel like falling asleep
👍🏻🎶

Imitation was found

There is only one mind. In any case you don't need to know any of this in order to be conscioudly aware.
