Awesome work as always, you smash it, like people need to smash that like button!
I’m excited to see what Doug does next. I almost teared up over the loss of Doug’s loss of Krakoa. That’s how I felt.
Frankly, I liked the picks that they made.
The actual heir kind of makes sense. Not from power but how much they tie to Apocalypse’s ideas for and belief in Krakoa.
Nice shoutout to the infinity comics where Selene and the Externals were the final boss.
Leeettttts dive in into this breakdown! Alright gang… love the enthusiasm gets me pumped every video !
Amen to that!
But i dont know how to swim
And welcome back!
It’s about time for other characters to get some development.
I’m tired of seeing the same characters featured all the time.
However,
Wish they could re-do the character design of Revelation.
I’m not a big fan of it.
I’m hoping to grow it on me.
I knew it would. be Dough from issue one. Also, his powers were always potentially vast. His power allows him to manipulate everything .
Everything from chemistry to physics to combat to talking to Krakoa is a language . It is just he never had the tool to use the languages
@@jamiedoe6822 that writers didn't develop his character properly. Claremont clearly created him and his power as a ticking time bomb that would explode in the future... it's no coincidence that Warlock and the tech-virus (which would in the future make Doug completely omnipotent and omniscient) right after introducing him, supposedly, as Kitty Pryde's possible love interest.
I wish this came out before I made my Age of Apocalypse song/video! They have so many images I would’ve loved to have used in my video… and of course it’s only right that favorite character of all time would have an heir that was given the same name as me!! 😆🍻
I would love to get your thoughts on the song and video of Age of Apocalypse when you have the time. It’s definitely something for folks that enjoy lyricism and love comics.
Halfway through the last issue I could tell Doug was going to win. I am very curious what Revelation's power set will be. Maybe he'll be able to "speak" on the atomic level making him a reality warper of sorts.
You could tell Doug was going to win from issue 1 because why else include him? He was too random of a pick.
I like Doug Ramsey - he's a fun, quirky character with a neat power-set. But Apocalypse - like many X-Men villains - represents a specific ideology gone wrong, or taken to the nth degree. He believes in Survival of the Fittest. The strong survive. This is his function in a story that has a big theme of 'adaptation' and 'evolution'. He wants to destroy the weak humans to make sure the earth is 'evolved' enough for the Celestials. It's a very dark vision, and it makes sense that the X-Men stand against that.
Taking away Apocalypse's function within the context of the story is not only silly, it's dumb. It's like making the Sentinels good guys - Sentinels represent the opposite of Apocalypse: humans killing all the mutants out of fear. There's always been a balance to the X-Men and their villains, and they are meant to stand in the gap, taking a more moderate point of view to protect both humans and mutants so they can coexist. This entire theme has gotten lost in the weeds with lesser talents at the helm of writing chores, and when that happens you get quirky characters like Cypher taking the mantle of Apocalypse, and it's just goofy.
Almost screamed at the end when you said the issue is over 😭😭😅
Cypher has always been over looked. Remember Professor X and his choices grew a hole for everything and everyone. Forge
I was never a fan of Doug aka. Cypher
But this change from hero to villains
Cypher aka Revealation powers is going to be super strong
actually, Cypher's true potential as omega and his future as a omnipotent villain was shown in The New Mutants vol. 3, as the "True-Friend" - his future - that could do time travel in some way and alter reality itself. Plus, his power as omnilinguist has always including deciphering and obviously a chance to rewrite DNA, his and other's. He literally was the first mutant to defeat Magus, re-programming him, and later on, in "Second Coming" he was the one saving the day, along X-Force, in the future thanks to time travel. There are no bad characters, just unimaginative writers and editors.
If Exodus had died that stupid way It would be the most stupid death ever for an omega level mutant (Im not considerind the stupid deaths of quentin quire).
YEZZZ🎉🎉🎉🎉
Exodus can move 100k people 2 miles away from town but can't launch Holocaust/Genocide into space?
I know don't make sense
Yooooooo ny boy doug got that shit on
I'm happy with the pick but I just wished they didn't make Cypher look like a full pale apocalypse look.
Laura is X-23, I hated it when they tried to shoehorn the title of “Wolverine” on her.
Out of all of the "contestants" the ONLY three mutants that have the sheer raw power and overwhelming force to actually take over as the new Apocalypse are: Cable, Exodus, & Genocide, because well, DUH!
Ghost rider in a space suit 9:00
I like the choice, just don't like the design. Great vid!
Mr sinister is my favorite villain but i would not trust him a second
Apocalypse says that Sinister's gene is not his, but neither is Cable's, since although he is the son of Cyclops, his mother Madelyne Pryor is only a clone of Jean created by..............Mr. Sinister??? What a dilemma, a script error?
Wasn't he in debt to the celestials,I guess Marvel forgot that storyline
Why he always defeated is beyond me. So much power most of time loses
The Apocalypse connection almost seems too random here. With the way it was set up I almost feel like Doug should have been the heir of Magneto instead since its really Magnetos old mutants over humans philosophy he is now subscribing to.
😊
Isnt genocide actually Holocaust from age of apocalypse??
Yes
What make no sense is when they were on the bridge w/no way across, why didn't Cable just telekinetically lift everyone across? Poor writing
Revelation is a villain or what?
To me, it's a bad idea to put Doug Ramsey to be revelation
I think revelation should be a whole new mutant in play.
I would rather see the new approved mutants than the same people.
Should of been Warren or cable
my mutant power is to eat great quanities of beans ..
I liked it better when his name was holocaust and they switched hands
Hey.
Heyo!
@@comicbreakdownThank you Comic Breakdown this Video is really entertaining to listen too:)
The proper verb is “conversing”
Both are acceptable
Apocolypse is too much sometimes.
The best thing about this story is your rendering of it, no disrespect intended towards you, this is a trash story with a terrible plot and a worst ending.
I gave you a thumbs up for your enthusiasm and overall excellent work.
Marvel is dying, so just let it die.
Thank you!
***Hard Eye Roll*** Sooo dumb. Not the premise…. The issue is the story and the execution of the story. Apocalypse testing an heir is a worthy story. However this telling of it….DUMB.
The art was good and it was well written, and the story ok. But the whole idea of Apocalypse looking for an heir was kinda out of character, and those he picked to replace him didn't make a whole alot of sense. And the fact we find out that no one died cause Apocalypse saw the light, was such a bleeding copout it wasn't funny. The whole thing was very ego driven and self-serving with Apocalypse. Which kinda works if there is an ultimate goal he has worked out that will be revealed in the end. Cypher was an odd one, but it clearly looks like he corrupted Cypher. But it also had Cable, Mirage, Rictor and such kinda coming cross ego driven too and a bit off character-wise to me. Like Cable knows this is bad, and going through with this will turn you into another Apocalypse. But instead of coming in with his team to blow it all up and stop this from ever happening, he does the opposite. Other then say Armageddon Girl and Sinister, non made sense, unless again Apocalypse changes them. It was kinda rage-induing, cause at the end of Krakoa we see him go off and reveal his true intentions for what he wanted since this thing started. But then decides, yeah, they have been rejecting my ideals and rule since day one. But this time I'll give up since I have Arakka (even those they may reject him too thank to Storm), where everyone worships me. So I'll find an heir, make them go through a tournament, were 12 will go through hell and think 6 of them died. And with the last 4 left, I'll just talk to them and pick the one that doesn't say no. But again, I'm really hoping Apocalypse has a darker plan at play. I'm not a fan of Hickman ignoring his Celestial stuff, and having Apocalypse seem like his changed but then do some heavy ass crookedly evil stuff. Like his letting you know he has changed, but also not really? I'm all for adding to a character and all that but come on. Either way, Cypher as Revelation looks awesome.
