Aaron Cottle keep on mind though this is basic rudiments there are many more. Also this is only one drum more akin to marching percussion. So if you want to write a Drumline piece GREAT this would be the first step, but If you want to write drumset part you have to be able to split different parts on different drums and cymbals. Anyways I wish you the best of luck with your percussion writing!
This is great! Please keep up with the content. From a compositional point of view videos like these are very helpful to understand the capacities and limitations of each instrument, as well as the proper writing.
I love this, it would be awesome to have a full percussion guide like this, specially for composers, like showing off all the percussion instruments and techniques, giving tips and neat information like this. In fact, it would be cool to slowly get to do this with all the orchestral instruments.
I'm not a drummer but learning guitar. I found it interesting to see the terms diddle and flam in context and what you exercise on these types of percussion. Thank you and indeed I would like to see more :) Maybe body percussion? :)
very much a great introduction into the body of snare techniques, i would like more multi percussion techniques in the future or teach more about drum lines with tenor techniques, bass drum techniques. great video
Yes, PLEASE do more of these! Very helpful. Can you use these techniques with the other parts of the drum set like the toms or cymbals or are they specific to the snare? I hope this is a start of a series that shows the techniques/articulations with accompanying notation for other instruments too, that would be incredibly helpful. Also, stuff like this, but for orchestral percussion would be amazing, like timpani and things like that.
I’ve been using musescore to write drumline parts for 3 years now. The amount of variation available with customizing how your music looks is so helpful and it only keeps getting better all for free. At this point if you’re not using musescore to write battery parts, what are you doing?
You should try santhali tumdah... And its beats... Because I see you your hands stop with Right... Which is similar to ours... Tumdah (santhal drum instrument)
If ur talking about on a drum set then yeah I think the only rudiments you need are singles, doubles, and paradiddles maybe even triples if you are playing bebop or higher tempo genres. But they are currently talking about percussion. So marching Snare, Tenors and Bass, in which lots of it is rudiment based.
@@ashimotoakai9599 You can aply every Rudiment on the planet to the Drumset. lets say swiss army triplets, but you play the right hand on the Floor tom and the left hand with your bass drum. Or pataflaflas. Great rudiment for playing Samba. The posibilities are endless. And Rudiments are Tools in your box. You just need to experiment with them.
How do you get your text so clean and in line? I'm using the sticking option under Add > Text > Sticking but yours looks so much cleaner! Also, how do you get it all on one line?
hello friend, can i disturb you? I use MuseScore, on the Trill part I want to add a way to interpret the Trill notation Can you guide me through this comment? thanks
Musescore creators, Did you delete a video from this channel of a man talking about organizing orchestra music with musescore? I need to watch it because the man said one word i need to know! :(
I played drums for a while. This is another type of evil. Highly technical with no room for anything. A Drumset is so forgiving on this Part and great for lazy drummers as I have been.
Its a great video, but you don't know how to teach. You should have done these rudiments very slow so that the inexperienced or beginners could hear and count out the rhythms. Do this video over like your teaching beginners instead of experienced drum corp players.
@@daniel_k_music im gonna be honest i dont even remember writing this comment but it was probably something weird about his bead traveling/rotation technique, just looks a bit off
I would like more content like this in the future.
Good to hear!
same!
I can hear your name played on percussion.
Same !
@@musescore how do i delete my musescore account (the website)
I love the way Musescore works with the community!
Man! You have some smooth hands. You play these percs like it's nothing! Plz more!
@g % an experienced musician respects the challenge of mastering the basics
@g % you're right
Neat! Learning how to properly write for drums is something I need to do.

Yay for daga daga burr for doubles! Best way to work on your doubles.
Yes, please continue with more vidoes!
Can do!
Lovely. Beautifully done. Thanks a lot!
Holy crap that was clean
Can you do videos like this for the more complicated rudiments?

And he was right
Shut up
No the person who got removed from. Band this guy
Same but I broke the snare drum Cuzzzzz uhhh We don't talk about that.

Nice Work man. And great technique!!
A simple video detailing your technique, grip, stroke and touch would be great. Good playing!!
I like the way this guy plays. Cool stuff

I need that music score sheet for practice.
I still wonder how it would be to play actual drums, it gets tiring pretty quickly trying to play things that aren't...
0MindSwept0 it’s a blast!

Lekker daantje 👌🏼
A while ago, when I exported my note results to UA-cam, the video was bad in sounds, especially rhythm. Why?

I can't even do the second one.
I like how he pronounces every "s" as "sh"

gonna be honest i dont think this guy is the most qualified to teach this stuff
Why not? Everything he played was even and clean, and he described everything concisely and correctly. The guy clearly knows his stuff.
He's alright
So what should he do better? Be constructive, not judgemental
He did everything correctly, who do you want, and what difference would it make?
