That rapids scene: there must be 50 people working on it. At home watching the telly some dweeb with a Mars bar chews and watches and forgets, says 'so what' and changes the channel - without realising how much work, before, through this, and after has gone into it. Total magic. Amazing.

It certainly didn't look glamorous having to reset for that scene, reshoots mean getting dried off and fresh clothes made to look like they'd been worn for days in the wilderness. All for seconds worth of screen time. Clever to cut to a much bigger waterfall for the actual jump though, no small feat that stunt.
Reminds me of the last James Bond film, the motorbike jump, they constructed a huge ramp and blended it in to look like it was hundreds of years old stone wall, 3 seconds on screen, probably costing over a million and it was like , oh that was it?

Forget the Red Serge/ clean shaven combo, I'll take him with that stubble and flannel anytime.. and try not to drool too much.. ;)

Man, I need to get a region 2 DVD player. Wonder why they didn't release this in the Canadian set?? Thank you kindly for sharing, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

It's part of the extra material on the 18 disc UK (Region 2) Due South collection, available via Amazon. It's the best DVD collection of Due South available on the market, even quality-wise (but it's still not HD).
Glad you enjoyed it! :-) Will be adding more "gems" here on my YT channel from time to time.

Constable Brendan Fraser was my role model as a youth. And I love the car; Detroit hasn’t done anything with any style since the boat tail Riviera. I’ve owned two.😻

Whatever happened to the big guy in this scene? He was a regular in previous episodes playing various characters, even in the pilot (bar scene) .
I've just binged watched the entire series 1-4, shame it had to end but maybe if Paul Haggis had returned new ideas could have been explored.
