This is one of my all time favorites. I always thought that the pharmacist said, speaking of his mother, "Tempus certainly does fugit!" and today I discovered just how much I had changed that line in my memory over the years. And I LOVE Charles Boyer.

Thanks for uploading this little gem of a movie!! I had not heard of it, though I am a fan of Boyer. I love discovering films, that one moment an unknown, and the moment after viewing it, you feel like you just opened a wonderful gift. Its a fun, light-hearted comedy, and though I'm usually drawn more to drama & noir genres, I still love a film of this type from time to time. I join in with the other post in presenting my Thanks to you!!
The Criterion Collection will (finally) be releasing this Lesser known but still wonderful Lubitsch classic on both DVD & Blu ray on September 17th, 2019! I'm SO excited!
"An analogue of human frustration. Believe me; I know a lot about sinks." That line's priceless. I'd never heard of Cluny Brown. This popped up as an Amazon recommendation and, after watching the trailer, I pre-ordered it. Off-beat, subtle Brit humor always gets me.

Love the clothes Bonnie Cashin did for this.Minor quibble -- Cluny (in the book) is supposed to be so plain that no one would consider making a pass at her. Casting someone as beautiful as Jennifer Jones changes the dynamic.

And happiness is a matter of purely personal adjustment to your environment. You are the sole judge. In highland park for instance, some people like to feed nuts to the squirrels! But if it makes you happy to feed squirrels to the nuts, who am I to say nuts to the squirrels?

What I like is that Jennifer is FUNNY. You don't expect her to be, since she is so pretty. But she handles comedy very well, indeed.
