- Over the last four years I have completely fallen in love with surfing the Great Lakes. I have redeveloped a surfing lifestyle with all of the same passion I used to have, but uniquely different than the East or West coast. The waves are infinitely better than I had ever imagined they could be on a lake. The surfers are overwhelmingly filled with goodwill, stoke, and passion to surf no matter what the conditions. Awhile back I started capturing some of our Great Lakes experiences on video. I think this one is a good representation of surfing during the winter months. I hope you enjoy it.

So awesome that this break is in Minnesota on a lake. I grew up surfing in California and owned businesses in Hawaii surfing North Shore and West Shore of Oahu. Some of the waves at Stoney Point actually look comparable without the crowds. I have been in Minnesota since 2008 and have followed the surf action on the lake. I would be in the water but I am 3.5 hours south and do not have a board or wetsuits to handle the cold. Keep up the fresh water stoke. Maybe someday I will join in on the fun!

About 5.5…sometimes a day trip but it’s a rough one for sure.
I have just come back to the uk from a short stay in Michigan, didn't get to surf though unfortunately,. Beautiful place with beautiful people. I have recently found Jesus and it was great and inspiring to here you talk about his greatness. Maybe one day he will lead me back to Michigan . Great video god bless you.

If I recall correctly, around 10F air and 35F water.

Super cool! Just moved here from Northern California growing up surfing there. Bought a house in Northwest Wisconsin two years ago to be closer to family. Just drove up to Superior to take a look at that pristine Rocky shore day before yesterday. Flat as a lake that day! This looks awesome.🤩
