    Great video. This is my home park, I always heard that the owner’s wife wanted the ride removed after the incident, I’ve seen a few newspaper articles about the accident, but I never saw anything about aftermath or investigations. I also always heard that the man who passed, got up to calm his hysteric sister (or something like that), after the train started valleying on the bridge, but him standing up to see if another train was coming, seems much more likely, I never thought about that scenario, but it makes way more sense.
    I believe the only surviving picture (that is known) of the ride is that one picture of it going over peninsula drive. Very well researched video!

    Basically every summer me and the family and my cousins go to Waldamer but before our trip I looked up what happened to ravine flyer 1. To my surprise Somone died on the ride. But I still went in ravine flyer 2 hehe

    The voiceover refers to this ride as "smooth." I regret to say that is no longer the case. I rode it last Friday (7/23/21), and it was disappointingly rough. I've been riding woodies for over 50 years, so I know whereof I speak. It's too bad, as it has a great track layout.

      I rode it once with my dad and both of us said that it was rough. I didn't like it at all...

    To me it just makes more sense to have a hill over the road like an actual bridge rather tgan a dip

    • @Retailman100
      @Retailman100 Рік тому

      The original Ravine Flyer was built before the road was put in. The bridge was somewhat hastily designed and even today would be a near impossible engineering challenge but was an inadequate structure.

      Wood coaster, steel track.

      @@johnd5931 A roller coaster being wood or steel depends on the makeup of the track bedding. A roller coaster with steel track is steel. A wood coaster has wood track bed, usually layered, with steel railing for the wheels.
