I remember thinking Pirates Cove would just be one of those trailer-mounted walkthroughs and then being thoroughly surprised with how long it took to actually walk through it. It definitely throws off your orientation. Waldameer really does have an underrated ride lineup.
As someone who grew up in Erie Pa, Waldameer was a staple of my childhood. All these years later I can still remember how the Whacky Shack smells and it’s so nostalgic
Nice to see someone else sing the praises of Waldameer. Absolutely love this park. I would rank the Comet higher than Wipeout, but that’s just me. Fully agree with RF2 at the top though. Such an incredible ride with one of the best views from atop any coaster. Thanks for taking the time to do this video!
I only had 4 hours to spend here, so I didn't do the waterpark. I agree with your top 3, easily my favorites at the park. I love those views from the drop tower & on Ravine Flyer II. I got so much done in my short time here, thanks to the small Tuesday crowd. I can't wait to go back!
This is such a fun little park! I had a season pass for it this past year and it was definitely worth the money! It’s always tradition for me to go every summer and this place has definitely stole my heart
Literally the first thing I thought of when I saw Whacky Shack here was its smell. And then you mentioned it. 10/10 video would marathon Whacky Shack again
Like old wood or something lol idk...smells......vintage. kinda smells like a closet that hasn't breathed in a while I've not encountered the smell anywhere else but it's not a bad smell it's just odd. I live here and it has smelled that way forever. Idk if they pump it in or it just naturally smells like that
I'm glad my grandparents and I can come to this park every year even though we live 3 hours away. So much nostalgia with being scared of whacky shack when I was 7 and steel dragon at the time being a large coaster for me. Waldameer is cheap, nearly every ride is a walk on, and RFII is in my top 5, and it was my first large scale coaster, and it inspired me to become an enthusiast. I really want to get back to water world soon! I haven't been there since 2016 and I really like the slides. Did you know they're getting a pro slide water coaster next year? Even more of a reason to go back!
Canobie, It's NOT weird to talk about the smells. Temperature and smells are things a video cannot capture. If they had cameras that captured those when we watch home movies...Oyyyveyy! The olfactory would be in ecstasy! Waldameer had a lot of ride names like my former Astroworld/Water world. I love the vintage clock next to Vortex. Pennsylvania is one of my most favorite places to vacation for both steam trains and amusement parks.
I kinda wonder if certain flatrides warrant comparison from one park to the next. Like, are all Tilt-a-Whirls the same, or do some parks have one that's better than others. Similarly with rides like Scrambler or Musik Express.
Ravine Flyer is quite a unique gravity group, it's like a mini Voyage with the same pacing. The park also has Steel Dragon which is a Morgan Gig... I mean, Maurer spinner. Abd Comet! I just find it odd how Ravine Flyer 2 is this massive massive wooden coaster and Ravine Flyer 3 is a small kiddie coaster, and the fact they don't even have a Ravine Flyer 1 anymore lol.
@FourteenFromTemu the rf II is less scary when you ride it multiple times. but the mv is scarrier bcuz it feels like you will drive off the U shapped rails. the scarriest is the CHAOS ride. you go upsidedown for what feels like 1:00 they are all fun rides

It's small but strong.
By far my favorite coaster channel. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!

The smell is distinctive.

You're welcome!
Ravine Flyer II is one of few rides where the POV looks insanely fast and the ride is even faster. Not even El Toro can say that.
I love RF2's first half.

I always can do a ton here in short order.

Awesome!

It's so distinctive.
Their drop tower is the most intense one that I’ve ridden. All of those Larson drop towers are just insane.
Sure are!
@@CanobieCoaster like I’ve ridden zoomanjaro, and this is somehow more intense.
6:08 I’ve been waiting for someone to mention Whacky Shack’s smell. It’s so odd yet so satisfying.
It really is something.
What does it smell like?

I heard they're getting the water coaster. Should be a good addition for them.
Looks like a great little park.
It is.
Waldameer is a great park! I ❤️Ravine Flyer II
It is.
This park looks amazing!

Makes sense for rides with smell pods. This is just the smell of the ride.
They made the new rocket blast
I want to get back for that one.
Waldameer does seem to have a very well rounded ride lineup.
Indeed.

They can absolutely vary. The speed, condition, cycle time, and appearance can vary.

I hesitate to call it a mini Voyage since it doesn't have the length, but it certainly has some awesome elements in that first half.
So glad someone appreciates spider it gets to much hate
I like it.
We had two big guys together in the same car on Spider. The spinning was berserk.
It spins a lot even with 1 person.
@@CanobieCoaster thanks for the well organized, factual video as usual. We took your advice and made sure to visit both funhouses, too.
I hope I can make it out here someday!
It's a nice park.
Now in 2024 and 2023 they have the new roller coaster water slide called rocket blast it is very fun and you can enjoy it with family and friends
Hope to get back to try that one.
the mega vortex and ravine flyer II are scary
Like both!

Little disappointed to see Steel Dragon so low. Easily my favorite here.
Sorry, swinging ships aren't my favorite.
Why is Ravine Flyer II here? Everybody knows it was removed in 2014.
Not quite.
