Devil Clouds - The Easter Sunday Tornadoes That Were Responsible for 168 Deaths in Nebraska and Iowa

On Easter Sunday March 23, 1913, a storm system spawned seven tornadoes in eastern Nebraska that ripped through Omaha, Ralston, Yutan and Otoe (called Berlin at the time). The twisters would be responsible for 168 deaths in Nebraska and Iowa.

0:12 perhaps the most incredible picture of the actual tornado hitting Omaha it was very hard and rare to get a picture of tornados especially back then

Thank you. :) The not so good old days with no radar. I love the photos. Interesting that Johnstown gave back to Omaha after being helped by Omaha during their flood. Also interesting that Regina sent help. Easter tornadoes reminds me of the much later Good Friday outbreak. Nice that an African American woman was represented in the pictures. And that all classes dug in immediately to help.

I moved out right before it hitted.i live in north Carolina now because of that
