Before the last question you talked about hiding how badly you felt and I totally understand why we do that. When we can't get a diagnosis and the doctors keep saying everything is fine, you can think well that's great, I don't have something terminal, I should celebrate and feel fine tomorrow. But tomorrow comes and you still feel terrible so you feel like a fool because the doctor said you're fine 😩 That's just one aspect of it and there's the fact that we might be doers and go-getters and it's hard to explain to people that you haven't been able to do 'everything' anymore even though the doctor said you're fine. Oy I could go on and on but I thank you so much for this video. I think you're gonna help a lot of family members get a better understanding of what those dealing with autoimmune issues go through ❤❤❤
YES! Amen to everything you shared!! You hit the nail on the head! I relate on every level. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and your insight! I really think it is so incredibly important that we open conversations about this and raise awareness.
Did you get married when you guys were like 2? You don't look old enough to have been married for so long! haha. You guys are so cute though. And it's so great that he's supportive, etc - it's definitely a huge change and shift in the way of thinking and acting for THEM around us and can definitely put a couple through the ringer, especially since they can't often see or feel what we do. The ones that can adapt and understand are keepers though!
Hahaha!!! That's too funny! But looking back now, I feel like we were babies...I was 19 and he was 21. And I agree 100%...it can be so hard! I am so thankful he can adapt and understand!
Thank you for your candidness and not saying “the right” relationship sayings. This is real and raw and we are trying to live through it and your candor helps immensely!!!!! Thank you both!
You're welcome Annie! It's tough stuff. And we don't even know what the right relationship sayings are - lol. ;) . We just know what we experienced, and still experience. As far as we've come, we still struggle from time to time. I guess that's just the whole "for better or worse" part of marriage. And autoimmune disease/chronic illness adds a whole new level to it.
I think an easier way of what he was trying t say in that first question - He has to keep himself up there so he does have the ability and sanity to take care of her (and kids?( when things are bad. I just came here, so don't know history. i have multiple autoimmune diseases and my husband has premature health issues. e stay confused and struggle to find info. Many blessings!!
I'm Engaged Nd suddenly after 1 month of my engagement my fiance is diagnosed with henoch scholen purpura which is an autoimmune disorders. I'm so heartbroken & he's in so much pain laying on hospital bed fr a month now. What to do! My parents still doesn't know about it. We're high school sweethearts & I can't imagine my life without him. What should I do now??
I'm so sorry to hear about your fiancé! My heart is with you. We were high school sweethearts too! I highly recommend the book The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook by Mickey Trescott and Angie Alt. It's a DIY guide to living with autoimmune disease and a great place to start! Doctors may say that nutrition and lifestyle don't matter, but I am living proof it does and there are so many like me. You will be an incredible support to your fiancé!
You guys are adorable and blessed. I’m fortunate to have a husband like this too.
