Ah the Mako scaling, the true grit of Mass Effect hahaha. Getting stuck between the craggy rocks is all but initiation 😂

Silly Eric, the Mako does not need upgrades, the Mako has already achieved perfection. It's the ultimate weapon of destruction, the quintessential navigational engineering marvel.
Jk, you can't upgrade the Mako, but I kinda wish we could too. Still love the Mako tho 🖤
Poor Kaidan. He's got his sh*t together, doesn't have any hang ups, and is a good, capable biotic. But most people still don't like him.
Also, the mission with the Tenth Street Reds is due to the background you pick during character creation. Since you went with the default female Shepard and didn't enter your own stats, you got the Earthborn background automatically. If you ever replay this and create your own character, each background has its own little quest like this.
Also, I'm glad you guys are continuing to read lore, even though it seems you don't like it. As a big fan, I appreciate your sincerity in giving this game a full, through playthrough. That being said, play in a way that's fun for you.
I wish I could play this for the first time all over again. This series really is special. It's a wild ride. You'll never get to do this again.
Yes people do like Kaidan lol! Kaidan slander begone 😂 Honestly, he grows on you, but I can see why people might not like him. Still, he opens up his heart to Shepard, that's not a very frequent in military setting. He's just sweet 🤭
Great episode! I think it's neat when the squad matches or looks coordinated 🙂 And I loved Sarah's reaction to Eric checking the map after she gave him directions 😂
24:45 I don't dislike Kaidan, but he's definitely my least favourite squad member. Also, don't worry, Kaidan is not high up on most people's list, at least compared to the rest of the squad members.
As for romance, not romancing anyone in the first game is also an option if you don't like any of the options. I personally didn't romance anyone in the first game, but I'm curious to see what you guys will do

I'm just glad her combat and leadership skills aren't anything like her dancing, 'cause otherwise this galaxy would be doomed

It's nice you dive deep into the lore, it will make the rest of the trilogy so much more interesting. First playthrough of this game is meant to be played this way.

41:50 Not important to me if they don't match, but I do try to make them all look as stylish as possible (regardless of whether they match or not)
That Admiral Mikhailovich interaction is one of my favourites in Mass Effect
Don't care if they don't match. Stats were far more important to me, and eventually you get the top end armor for everyone, then the Fits all match. Manufacturer determines the look of each armor.
Answering Sarah's question, in ME1 I don't super care if the squad matches 😂 But it's fun when they do!

Out of the first 2 squadmates, popularity is like 60/40 with Ashley being more popular among fans.
Kaidan has a small but I would argue more dedicated fan base especially when it comes to his romance.
I romance him as male Shep, never done it as female Shep. His romance is different depending on which gender you play.
Yeah.... keep your squad underequipped if it isn't fashion conscious. Hey, Wrex! It's OK you died... because you looked fabulous while you did it! Just had to poke a little fun at you on that front. This game, I never cared about the armor looks... just the stats... but I also spent over an hour designing my Commander's looks. :)

There are some manufacturers you have to buy from a vendor that have fantastic stats compared to drop weapons. But I wouldn't worry about it till you hit the top level gear.
50:34 No, it wouldn't have been the same, it's certainly more negative if you go Renegade on him, but I have no regrets for going Renegade on him. I'll be nicer to him on a repeat run, even if it pains me a little ahah
You’ve probably figured this out by now but the armors are labeled as “…Human”, “…Turian”, “…Krogan” and “…Quarian” depending on what species they fit. Krogan armor is way too big for humans, and similarly Wrex couldn’t squeeze into an armor suit made for Turians.

Weapon & Armor levels only depend on your own character level---not on decription difficulty. Getting ready for the red carpet? Me1 is a big fashion show---the team with the matching armor always wins....
Well, SINCE you asked…. I personally do not care at all what the armor looks like in ANY game. Stats and Buffs are my only concern. To be honest, if a game has a transmog system in it, I feel cheated because the developers spent time on that instead of something more important to me.
