Using the colored wool as decorations to represent different things really sent me back. The thing I loved about exploring these worlds back in the day was seeing the creative ways people would use what limited blocks there were.
This version of Minecraft has something very alluring to it. It is relaxing to play. It lost this along the way. Things were so much simpler and enjoyable back then. Thank you for the tour.

This looks so nostalgic, it reminds me of the old days of Minecraft, great job on this, you did such a great world with such a limited set of blocks. :)
I actually started playing Beta 1.7.3 this week and have been enjoying it a lot so far! I made a small house on a floating island that the world generated, but i think i'm gonna make another house elsewhere and turn that floating-island-house in a storage, because if i ever want to expand it it'll require a lot more work (not to mention the risk of falling to your death). I also found a huge cave system and found 13 diamonds on it
Man, this is absolutely beautiful, great work on this world, everything feels so alive and respected. For some reason, the glowstone+fence pole lamps immediately brought me a wave of intense nostalgia. I had a parkour map way back in the day I liked to work on on a flat world with a lighting system exactly like that. There was a pathway on the ground with ladders to every level, decorated with those lights, as I didn't know how to use command blocks to set spawn and stuff. Simpler times, now map standards are far too high to post something like that
Thanks man that's great to hear, I also made like a little parkour obstacle course in my xbox 360 world that I played split screen with some of my friends. Oh I would give anything to have that world back

Worlds like these honestly give me so much nostalgia, like I found this era of Minecraft to be so relaxing and creative. Where "big" projects didn't take months to finish because of the size but rather a big project was some more creative than a usual build. This world seems like it would be so peaceful just to play in especially if you had friends join and just had a blast playing, like no need to rush and grind for resources like modern MC but just enjoy the game.
I've actually had the pleasure of playing beta 1.7.3 multiplayer with my friend, he was able to make a server and we had a lot of fun and make a cool little village area, the weirdest thing was, when we tried to visit it, we found a hole with a cow in it, and then it EXPLODED into hundreds of cows and soft locked our world into us having 1 fps. Very fun tho!!
Honestly I agree. Back then it was a lot more simple and definitely more relaxing. This video pulled me back to those good old times. The one point I'd have to disagree with is grinding for resources in modern MC. It is so much easier to get a lot of blocks and items fully automated with very little effort in modern MC which wasn't possible back then. Overall I enjoy modern minecraft more but I still play it with my friends like the good old days where we just build up our bases and areas and build cool builds. Some take a few days some only a few hours but it's still great overall. Depends on how you play the game.
1.7.3 was the last version of the game that I've played with joy. The hunger bar, XP and other things they added in 1.8 made the game less "Minecraft style" and changed it into more like a RPG or something like that (in my opinion), and back then I decided to quit. Now after so many years I'm trying to get into Minecraft once again but it's not the same to be honest. Just wanted to say that your world is beatiful and it made me nostalgic about those old times. I really regret that i have never back up my saves and they are gone forever.
thanks man, but yeah you really missed the mark on minecraft, I honestly enjoyed the hunger system when it came out 2012-2015 minecraft was very good, because you have to keep in mind, notch still had minecraft up to late 2014, so there were still "updates" and actual content being released, so microsofts reign of terror hadnt started yet until a couple of years back where they just stopped giving a shit about this cash cow of a game. But I understand if you cant play this game now, I can't either it gets too boring and repetitive, and just needs more shit, more items (IMO Terraria style), more incentive to explore. the best thing you can find from exploration is diamonds, enchanted books, and netherite scrap, very lame! But you should create an old minecraft world, youd have more fun than you think, as long as you have ideas and inspirations for your world it can be quite relaxing. I implore that you go back for a nostalgic trip.
@@TheOfficialButthead I like the almost cognitive dissonance there (no offense intended). there are more blocks to build with and more elaborate techniques than ever before, but it's almost paralyzing in a way. at one point you would go exploring to bring back building materials for your base, but increasingly the game is wandering towards exploration for the sake of exploration. empowering the player by giving you lots of fancy toys, and in the process forgetting to empower your building creativity, which is why minecraft got so popular to begin with. adding more fancy loot and weapons and pew pew enchantments is just making minecraft like terraria, and it is impossible for minecraft to beat terraria on its own terms because terraria is just too good at that. mojang unexpectedly took a good step by adding armor trims in the latest snapshots. these are fun ways to express creativity and must be gotten by doing a lot of exploring, but don't actually impart any benefits in combat or anything at all. if the additions from the last few years were a bit more like that, we'd maybe be looking at less of an identity crisis for our beloved block game
I love how the sounds were louder Makes it feel more Minecraft-ier than now Like take for example when walking in grass or on planks, opening doors. Freaking masterpiece Now the game feels a little bit scary with very silent sounds, no music either.
been playing since classic. this makes me feel so happy. i started laughing when the classic herobrine spawner easter egg was shown. thank you so much for this build
Amazing world. I have a 1.20 world I've spent hours and hours on, building complex structures with limitless block pallets, but this somehow seems so much better. The simple textures and the limited blocks really make every build seem comforting and beautiful in a way I can't describe. I think I will start using exclusively old-school blocks in any future builds.
This is so cool! I’m playing beta 1.7.3 as well currently, I aspire to be just as good a builder as you haha This video has definitely given me more nostalgia than any other beta world tour, wow…
I started playing minecraft in 2010 alpha, played on a private server hosted off of a friends spare old computer. It was so much fun, I was about to wrap up college but still had so much more free time then and I spent a good deal of it playing more or less this version of minecraft. Some of the best video game memories I have are from this game and your video being randomly suggested to me from the algorithm was a joy to see. A lovely world you put together.
Thanks man, I also started in the end of 2010 around December. My brother introduced me into the game and as an 8 year old it blew my mind, I played off the family computer and my brothers account, then on friends accounts and then I finally bought my own account in 2018, but I still played thousands of hours before that. It's entirely a love project and a commitment of faith to the old nostalgia and culture of old minecraft
@@TheOfficialButthead I've seen a few others here comment on how people aren't missing this state of the game but instead that certain time period in their life. How minecraft is a better game now. Maybe there is some truth to the former, probably the latter moreso, but for me I miss what was happening with this game as the grassroots community grew. Jumping in when we did, the advancement from alpha to beta, the nearly weekly updates, the game felt alive and we were all along for the ride. Companies and developers take advantage of this now and it's pretty old hat at this point, early access and all that, but playing this game as it was improving on a regular basis and doing so with a huge community, that was special and new. Incredible memories and a magic the new versions cannot recapture despite them being objectively better
@@ElDavideGrande88 well that's because notch actually gave a shit about minecraft, not because he created the damn thing, but he had actual ideas, and put effort in. Mojang now is just full of people who are there to get a paycheck, nothing more. They don't care about minecraft because it's not their personal project they've been working on, this is why we get such minuscule updates that add nothing to the game, minecraft coins, forced mojang-Microsoft account migration.
@@TheOfficialButthead I think the people at mojang do care a lot about minecraft, they are just less willing to take risks with it than notch or jeb were. (ik jeb is still on the team, but 2012-2015 minecraft was basically run by jeb rather than notch, he was pretty hands-off at that point) Mojang devs now focus WAY more on marketing new updates, releasing a new one every 6 months, and not having any bugs. I would prefer it if they just made updates constantly and *oops* dupe glitch just dropped. I get that a less glitchy/buggy game is technically better but old minecraft was just this fountain of creativity BECAUSE they were still indie, and didn't necessarily need polish to put out a cool idea. It also feels less like minecraft has a "will of its own," so to speak. They have a lot of devs and as a result it feels like they all are super eager to put int their ideas, so it feels scatterbrained and lacking in focus. With old minecraft, bees would have been added in one update, a couple weeks later given the ability to produce honey, a couple weeks later given the ability to help crops grow, etc. They were a smaller team but they were more focused, and took action more easily
i created a building on minecraft alpha 1.2.6 with friends one month ago. that's crazy how old version of minecraft is good. happy to see we are not alone
This is really cool. This type of video reminds me of when my friend would tour me through his world, and I get to see all the cool buildings/structures. Honestly, this version of Minecraft is just a blast from the past for me

14:11 mad props for the people like you that remember there's a mossy cobblestone block in the middle of a Herobrine spawner.... (the torches are supposed to be next to the netherrack tho)
Dude that's sick, really like the love and detail put into this, it really shows how much effort you put into this, what's more impressive is the level of detail you were able to do with the limited block choice, keep up the great work!
This video was a HUUUGE nostalgia trip for me, made me remember my old creative world i used to play on the Xbox 360. I wish i still had the creativity to build like this, nowadays i just copy buildings from google lol
A lot of people want modded furniture and realistic things in their worlds but that removes all that makes Minecraft unique. I love worlds like these because they actually feel interesting and “Minecrafty”. I’m definitely gonna use this video as a reference for my realm.
youve inspired me to start playing beta 1.7.3 again your world is so awesome! (also will definitely be adding the tree of wealth and respect to continue the legacy xD)
Something about all this looks way better than modern minecraft. Its simple, its creative and it reminds me of what I used to build back in 2011, ahh good times those were
This Minecraft world is goated, and Alpha and Beta versions of the game really feels different from the Release versions, especially the building style possible
With the new blocks it’s to overwhelming to make something fresh with how huge the selection is for blocks but looking at this just makes me wanna cry and start a new world in the good old school Minecraft world
I totally recommend that you should do it, and don't feel like you have to be completely unique, I borrowed many of my designs in this world from other videos and worlds.
The creative use of the limited blocks feels cozy in some way. I wasn't playing when b1.7.3 first came out - the earliest version I remember playing was release 1.3.2 - but I did research that b1.7.3 is a very beloved version among veterans. Lately i was thinking about starting a world in b1.7.3
Thanks! But I dont really recommend playing old versions unless you yourself played it, it just kinda handicaps your experience since theres way less to do. And I mostly made this world out of nostalgia and as a personal project. But if you like it, by all means try it out!

@@johnes4882 yep. Any game will lose its identity after over a decade of time had passed with new developers and owners come through.
I love how the sounds were louder
Makes it feel more Minecraft-ier than now
Like take for example when walking in grass or on planks, opening doors. Freaking masterpiece
Now the game feels a little bit scary with very silent sounds, no music either.
been playing since classic. this makes me feel so happy. i started laughing when the classic herobrine spawner easter egg was shown. thank you so much for this build
The architecture here really took me back to those old IHazCupquake and AmyLee33 letsplays though,,,
That ending half too.... dang lol
This is so cool! I’m playing beta 1.7.3 as well currently, I aspire to be just as good a builder as you haha
This video has definitely given me more nostalgia than any other beta world tour, wow…
absolute legend
this just brings me back to a time that won't come back
I started playing minecraft in 2010 alpha, played on a private server hosted off of a friends spare old computer.
Your world is so cool! Some time ago in my time playing Minecraft I stopped building homes and started building houses, but this gives me inspiration!
nice! good to hear!
The lighting is so much more genuine, all of it feels like so “real” and I mean that in terms of a vibe
Magnificent, great work. Thanks for sharing. The good old days
truly.
This is really cool. This type of video reminds me of when my friend would tour me through his world, and I get to see all the cool buildings/structures. Honestly, this version of Minecraft is just a blast from the past for me
It truly is, I've been playing since 2010 and its practically my childhood
Sorry to reply very lately cos the recommendation came a minute before.. I'm feeling so much nostalgic to see how people used those days for something useful or how creative they're! I'm feeling that those updates were so cool and thanks a lot.
I love This vibe of old Minecraft buildings, i tryed but never could replicate, i think the mix of limites blocks plus the sound efects and the ilumination make It better
True dat
the scp build around a spawner is actually a genius idea
i'll be borrowing that
Cool to hear!
14:11 mad props for the people like you that remember there's a mossy cobblestone block in the middle of a Herobrine spawner.... (the torches are supposed to be next to the netherrack tho)
Haha well of course the torches arent in the right place, I wouldnt want to fucking spawn herobrine and have him grief my entire world now would i?
@@TheOfficialButthead good point, better play it safe
Dude that's sick, really like the love and detail put into this, it really shows how much effort you put into this, what's more impressive is the level of detail you were able to do with the limited block choice, keep up the great work!
thanks man, Im glad it looks good
my respect for this guy that had the pacience to build all this 👍
trust me I had lots of videos in the background to keep my occupied lol
@@TheOfficialButthead anyways, i love Alpha, Beta and the first releases
Half-Life military precision at 15:08 was surprising but i appreciate it as a big Half-Lfie nerd
Yo the Nihilant portal theme, i was about to do this on my world too, looks awesome
thanks for still playing this version, your world is great
This a very pretty minecraft world! Good job!
Thanks!
Wow, thanks for the feels :,) it’s so impressive what you’re able to do with such a limited block pallet.
Thanks!
you just don't see this kind of stuff nowadays
thanks for this, might give this version a try
I definitely recommend, it's a blast!
theres always something so cozy about these builds.
I didn't expect the crypt below the open grave. Not the most trendy world, but very interesting to see all what you built. Keep building.
thanks!
This video was a HUUUGE nostalgia trip for me, made me remember my old creative world i used to play on the Xbox 360. I wish i still had the creativity to build like this, nowadays i just copy buildings from google lol
I was recommended this video, and I was like "oh that looks awesome". And I had liked the video...
thanks bro, bro fist...
Beautiful. I really love the architecture of old Minecraft.
There is just something unbelievably fucking cool about this and I can't put it into words.
Your interiors are next level, amazing work
Thanks man, I did the best I could
A lot of people want modded furniture and realistic things in their worlds but that removes all that makes Minecraft unique. I love worlds like these because they actually feel interesting and “Minecrafty”. I’m definitely gonna use this video as a reference for my realm.
thanks man, means alot
youve inspired me to start playing beta 1.7.3 again your world is so awesome! (also will definitely be adding the tree of wealth and respect to continue the legacy xD)
Lmao, I'm glad to hear man, have fun!
Epic World Tour!
Thanks bro!
@@TheOfficialButthead it's actually a really good world tour for no commentary!
@@D4rk_R4in126 I'm glad it turned out like that, thanks!
I love the creativity in beta builds bro ythis guy is such a good builder
i have fallen into the rabbit hole of mc beta world tours and i'm loving every second of it.
That's why I made this world lol, the exact same thing happened to me
I wish i had this much creativity
Something about all this looks way better than modern minecraft. Its simple, its creative and it reminds me of what I used to build back in 2011, ahh good times those were
Amazing work. I miss the old Minecraft...
Oh your world is so cool i love it these videos gives me old feelings
This Minecraft world is goated, and Alpha and Beta versions of the game really feels different from the Release versions, especially the building style possible
Thanks!!
The MyMinecraftProject channel was so inspiring. Great example for building
Man I love his videos, always thought they were a great example of minecraft creativity
Ah. I love this. Tis' absolutely epic and an awesome Minecraft World!
@@TheOfficialButthead oh yeah I have some tricks up my sleeve >:D grew up with that 1.7.3
Very cool stuff! And props for the HL references in this video, lol.
"create a whole railroad that goes everywhere" man I love this game so much, lmao.
Cool and nostalgic video, nice work!
Thanks bro!
