- I was invited to judge a local cosplay completion at Mini Con! Mini con is a northern Utah small Comic convention held at Sandy Game Haven in the Spring Time. I was so excited to go get dressed up and see everyones work! Not all the contestants wished to be filled so the entries show in this video are not the entirety of the competition if you see yourself in the the video and want to be tagged, let me know!!
Entering a cosplay competition is one of the most fun things a cosplayer can do! It is a way to make new friends, get a new perspective on your craft and challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone! Willingly signing up for a craftsmanship contest can be scary! We put so much of ourselves into our work and being judged by people who didn't watch you create your look from start to finish is nerve wracking! It can also be a really rewarding experience where well seasoned cosplayers, beginners and everyone in the middle can get together, talk shop, and make friends!

Really cool video!! It's great to see things from the judge's perspective for a change. I actually cosplayed Macaque for a con 2 years ago, and I entered in my first competition with it. Despite its flaws, I won judge's choice!! And, most importantly, I learned SO MUCH from the feedback I got!! I always get so excited to hear any and all competition advice, so this was a really informative video. Thank you for documenting this!

this was the first contest that I had the opportunity to attend since 2020! Im planning on going to all least 3 others this year! any more than that and its easy for me to feel super burned out 😅

@@AlexandriaLayne I’ll be going to a writers convention in June ! And then I promised by hubby and kiddo I’ll go this year to a local comic convention called “ nerd con”. We have a huge comic convention that comes to Houston that they always go to but I felt intimidated by the size of it so I didn’t go. I missed the chance to meet voice actors from my fave anime’s. But I feel inspired to go now and craft something !

I don't have a video but my favorite resource for build books is a creator on instagram called "rennacosplay" she has a saved story on her page called "judging Docs" and it has some REALLY GOOD information!
How fun! I was a vendor at this event and it was so much fun!! My booth was @vanticx 💓 and the winners cosplays looked so stunning in person 😍😍
I wish I had stuck around a little bit to see the vendor booths!!!
