Wrenn Einzbern Anna Kendrick was the best thing about that movie. I had never seen her before and she only had a few lines but she killed it! I was literally like, “who is this??!!” She’s amazing!

Certainly one of the best performance of 2019. He was incredible in it.
Also Good Time. High Life. Cosmopolis. Lost City of Z. The King. The Devil All the Time. Tenet (he's good in this even if you think the movie isn't great -- similar to Cosmopolis in that regard I guess). He's a legitimately good actor who made bank playing a shitty role that he hated which soured his reputation for a while with most people. Hell, before that he was even good in his small role in Harry Potter.
My 5 year old Nephew has been on a serious Sharkboy and Lavagirl kick for the last few months and it blew my mind a little watching Taylor Lautner doing all his flip kick fight moves (and horribly awesome raps) in that fever dream of a movie...

I **LOVE** "What We Do in the Shadows," both the film and the tv series (I started with the TV series, unaware it was based on a film, then it was shown at a local art house cinema, and I loved every minute of it).

I hated the twilight movies so I didn't watch anything from the cast afterwards but when robert pattinson was announced to play Batman I checked out these movies of him. I have to say I was stunned and absolutely amazed by him and how much has he improved. I am fully confident about the fact that he has what it takes to pull of Bruce Wayne perfectly.
Yup. Not only is he shaping up to be a terrific actor, he is also choosing some really interesting roles.

I guess its hard to imagine him as batman when you've seen him as a sparkly vampire, but I've never seen the twilight series, and never plan to, so I'm optimistic about what he can pull off. He's got the look, that's for sure.
honestly I sympathize with Achara... I loved movies like Dead or Alive and Lara croft... even though they were not good movies. as a teen I enjoyed them.

I'm female and I read the books because my sister recommended them and I didn't like them at all. I watched the first movie because I went with my sister to see it and didn't like it. I never saw the others. The characters were terrible developed and written. I can't believe even worse fan fiction based off of it managed to become successful as well.

This dude's an incredible actor...people need to stop thinking of him as a Twilight character...he's come miles since then and all his roles were top notch.
His performance in The Lighthouse was incredible, and one of the best of 2019.
i couldnt agree more. I never really saw much of him outside of harry potter and twilight so i didnt really have an opinion of him. I was aware he regretted twilight and so I never thought of him as the ''twilight guy''. Then I saw the lighthouse and i realised he has great potential. I want to see more of him now.

I saw nothing 'off' about the story or characters but after growing up and consuming more media (movies and reading books); I realized how weird everything was. It was really after watching more movies that I thought were good (imo), and it having great characters and their developments, and then other plots (sometimes with twists) that had depth... it what really altered my views on media I consume now.
So much better imo; my taste that I have now days 😂 also, same with Harry Potter; having plots holes unnoticed at an earlier age, then growing up and realizing so many things that now dont make any sense, story wise. Also liked the Hunger Games and then didn't pay mind to things that didn't make sense. It's so interesting when you compare things to other references and then realize how your own taste is in what you liked before 🤔

Dude you gotta check out The Green Knight trailer that dropped recently. It's an A24 film directed by David Lowery and it's got Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton and Sean Harris.

@@ryansmith-jr4gn it's literally the same technique. A blank expression makes it easier for the viewer to project themselves into the character. Combine that with the lack of personality that they both have, and they're almost interchangeable.

I could care less who likes Twilight, what makes me mad is the fact that because of those books so many people actually think REAL vampires are like the ones in the books which is stupid and makes them kinda stupid because Vampires DON'T glitter in the sunlight and there is no such thing as a "Vegan Vampire" even the very idea itself is moronic and goes against the whole idea of what a vampire is.

Jaby. You are judging Robert Pattinson because of the twilight. Robert just delivered what the directors asked him to do. It was getting tiring for him, because of it he was going to get fired at one point. Robert himself hated the twilight saga. You should see his other movies. His acting is spot on. He is a great actor. For example, The lighthouse with Willem Dafoe. Such a great movie with great acting.

Rant - The Twilight series is an example of terrible writing that romanticizes stalking and gaslighting to young girls. Along with basing your entire self on a guy. I am actually disgusted that it got popular. Same with its fanfiction, 50 Shades. Again, presenting abuse as a beautiful relationship. As someone in the bdsm community, it makes me so angry.

Yeah I saw the second one in theaters opening weekend, and those women screaming in the theaters beyond pissed me off! I didn't pay money to see a movie to hear that. You never hear guys screaming at the screen when a women takes off her clothes. That was the worst theater experience ever

It doesn't bother me that much that Jacob had thoughts of pedophilia. It bothers me much more that he denied it, then jokes about it after everyone else normalizes it and Bella stops defending her position on it being wrong. I'm all for putting tough topics out there for discussion, but this was the wrong way to handle it from a literary perspective.
It would have been much more appealing had Jacob admitted his thoughts to Edward-- if not Bella- then exiled himself for a while. When he finally returns to check up on the baby he'd imprinted on, it turns out she's an adult. She walks up to him and kisses him on the cheek. I don't want this relationship to go as fast as Bella's and Edward's did, when she only has a few months of life experience.
Personally, that's not the story I would write. I'm just saying there's better ways to handle the topics in the movie without sacrificing the plot.

Hey guys, big fan, great reaction, old movie but still entertaining to watch Ryan's take, sorry Achara i agree with Jaby..i thought Twilight wen i saw it wen i was younger it was maybe the worst film ever made, yeah probably definitely, still think that could be the case, i mean im not a Harry Potter fan but i get it, they are very well written and they actually make logical sense.. Twilight though is total nonsense, didnt think Ryan could make it sound any worse but he did it...i remember thinking RPatts was the worst actor that ever lived.
