    Even though I'm a professional engineer, watching these videos makes me admire this craftmanship so much, I'd like to work there sometime as an artisan.

    I envy the man working in the neck. So young and expertly assembling what will become a Warwick neck. I would be scared shitless thinking I botched that pre assembly.

      Training. I didn’t know a lot about guitars (other than setup and playing them)before I went to work at a custom shop. About 4 years later and now it feels like second nature. And there were some 18 year olds working there that were already leagues ahead of where I’m even at now imo

    ebony has a very bright sound for being a dense wood that looks like ash behind it ash sounds amazing ebony has a brighter sound than maple I have one bass all maple and the other ash wings maple neck through with an ebony fret board I couldn't tell you which is better I would love to play this to see how it sounds no amp just the sound of the bass in a quiet room

      @Dr. Frosty play the instrument by it's self and see how the wood affects the tone the pickups have nothing to do with the sound or go to various signature models of what ever brand and see what woods the artist likes

    Why was that glue and spray applied to the headstock during routing?

      I am a retired aerospace engineer and was awe struck by the technology in your factory, from the presses which clamp the thru neck to the CNC which holds the neck for profiling the fingerboard to the CNC one which places and presses the frets to the one which shapes the body and neck. I have visited German factories in the past and have always been knocked out by the superb quality and working practices. Your factory is even better than some engineering sites.
      As far as the comments on headstock style and body shapes is concerned, this person has clearly not played a Warwick, that headstock works beautifully, placing the machineheads at the perfect angle and the single cutaway body is a triumph giving so much support to the neck ensuring the resonances provide extra sustain.
      Unlike a previous review I was pleased to see that the sanding was done by hand, because it not only gives a beautiful finish but makes each one very slightly individual. I too am very jealous of those guys working there as they obviously have such pride in what they do. I have in the past made and repaired guitars and have set up a couple of Warwicks. I was very impressed with the quality and the obvious engineering influences. I am adding a visit to your factory to my bucket list. Superb guitar and video!!

      it looked like superglue and accelerant. probably to strengthen the end grain and prevent splintering/chipping.

    Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship!!!!! Now... was that the Thumb SC - 6-String playing the track behind this video?

    Gorgeous!!! However, while I realize that Warwick probably keeps waste to a minimum, the amount of valuable exotic wood that ends up as wood chips and sawdust just still makes me sad. Eye opening at how much wood is lost when crafting a neck-through bass!

    • @florinbaiduc
      @florinbaiduc Рік тому +1

      If the trees would grow in the shape of Singlecut Thumbs, no wood would be lost 😅 . Otherwise, there is not much choice - except to play these instruments while remembering and respecting how much work and materials go into making one.

      @@genustinca5565 no! for 6 strings bass ( or 8 strings guitars) ebony (and maple for body) helps you have clarity in low notes that are muddy usually.

      @@genustinca5565it's true this bass can not be light but i guess it's not unusual heavy.
      They could make body some lighter.(chambered body) but they need the weight of body because of that huge neck( for balancing)!
