Salgaa has perhaps been the most notorious black spot in the country if the number of road accidents that have happened along the road is anything to go by.
The accidents have robbed dozens of families of their loved ones and left tens of others with injuries. but the move to dual the stretch separating traffic with a movable barrier had been bearing fruit.
Very smooth to watch. A great story, still lingering in my mind after watching it. Nice one Enock.
Thank you so much, Joz. Much appreciated and your support is highly valued.
Waah!
I have been watching documentaries for years from other countries but when I stumbled on your channel, I was amazed with the content which is done with so much professionalism and passion. Am sold and here to stay. Well done!!!!

I stumbled on the Outer-ring road documentary today morning...didn't have time to go down the rabbit hole cos I was watching while preparing to start my day...I haven't even watched this yet but I know it will be good, and I have a feeling I'll be on this channel for the rest of the night now that I've started watching again...Brilliant work. You definitely need more subscribers...and if you ever need a sound guy/music ✋🏾✋🏾✋🏾
Wacha nitafute pesa I start sourcing for professionalism in every aspect of production. Ahsante sana for believing in Kenyan Historian.
@@KenyanHistorian I'm cheap😂😂😂
I am glad it got fixed… 90% of most accidents in this country would be prevented by measures like this. That place had claimed many lives. Good reporting.
This is top tier content as usual. I have used this road since 2007 and I know how many lives were lost before the barriers were erected, sad!!! Keep up the good work sir, we really appreciate. 👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it! Ahsante sana for your kind words.
For the love of informative documentaries, Enock Sikolia is taking this to another level. Keep it up Man. My notifications are always on waiting to get educated on Kenyan affairs all the way from politics and other domestic affairs. 😎🤝
This has always always been my route a lot of times...the idea of the barrier has been a saviour...a job well done on the documentary.
Thanks Elijah. Much appreciated sir.
This is better than mainstream media! A job well done enock!
First comment here.What a nice piece 💯
Ooh thank you so much. Appreciated
Congrats Enock you are true Kenyan historian keep up
Wafanye hivi kwa highways zote nchini, idadi ya ajali bado iko juu,Kazi njema
My Friends got an accident at that blackspot Yesterday 27/12/2023 at around 1pm heading to Nairobi, when their voxy breaks stopped working after they overtaked....the car rolled 10meters but thank God they all survived
Your documentaries are always on point🎉 , you are indeed a rare gem in the media world .
Thanks, Manoah. This is humbling. Appreciated sir
Nice man big up
That 2017 12th December accident was the climax of all the accidents there.
honestly been watching your channel for a while now your videos are entertaining and informative Thank you for a job well done
I appreciate that Brandon. God bless you sir.
I believe that the road was also made a dual carriageway in addition to the wall being built. Previously, it only had a climbing lane, and of course no wall.
One of the Best..... Keep it up Enock
Great documentary,Mr.Enock!,good job👊👊
This indicates we need a national dual carriage network for our major national trunk roads. Traffic separation reduces accidents.
Wow..what an inspiring story..frm a professional reporter,professional presentation,bro..nakutolea kofia🥳💪👌 I love your vlogs🎉❤ Dubai
Great concept that was. I only have an issue with the runaway ramps. How do you put Kokoto on the runaways ramp? Sand (That is often dug to sotfen it) would have been ideal. But again, people would be stealing those sand.
very impresive documentaries and happy for Kenyan Engineers
Hello there Enoch am a 4th year journalism student... love your documentaries would greatly appreciate working with you some day.Thank you.
Good documentary Enoch. I ever bought the tea in green package. It was great
I've seen it all since this road has been my office for the past cemtury, from the time it was a single lane to now being a dual carriage,i can tell the history
Amazing video coverage.. Wonderful narration this is my hood and this is epic thenx enoc👏👏
Nobody is appreciating MATIANG'I for this 😔😅
Shikoli you are best in kenyan documentaries
😊Asante Enock for the mwosho moja. Salgaa had a bad reputation now seen as things of the past! Thank you
May those who lost their Lives in 2009 Continue resting in peace 😢❤ A good documentation.
this stretch feels dangerous even with these improvement. but kudos especially on the bumps which helped tame truck drivers along the decent
That we have to go to such lengths to tame rogue drivers shows the problem on Kenyan roads, and what actually really needs to be addressed to enhance safety on our roads.
As an engineer, I'm proud of this
Thank you sir.
Your channel is very educative, keep it up the good work🤝
My cousin died on that fire....😢😢....i love watching your shows, very informative
Pole sana Derrick. It was terrible. Thanks for watching my documentaries. Ahsante sana sana
Is it the wall or the dual carriageway that reduced the accidents? Confused to be honest.
I've been a driver on these stretch for close to a century now,I was there before the wall & I can attest to it that the wall has done much, though it doesn't prevent accidents from happening,it minimizes the impact from road crashes by 50% in that only vehicles heading in one direction are involved, initially, before the wall, both vehicles heading in the same direction & from the opposite direction were involved
You are good at what you do!
Impressive good work enock
Napenda ukiisema kwa kiswahili tukikuona yaani authenticity si ukisema kwa kizungu
Enock Please work on your Thumbnails.....your videos deserve the Best...... Good Work
I'm new here, it's quite enjoyable.. You're a good story teller brother
Thanks bro. Nashukuru sana. Najaribu tu. I have areas I am working on to make them better.
Kaburengu was also a black spot before new interchange..who will forget maji ya chumvi and sultan hamud black spots before the advent of the sgr.
Good job Enock👏..I like it
Thank you so much, Isaac. Appreciated
Ni Kama Sikolya alilala Salgaa baada ya kushoot this episode aone if at night kuna accidents hapo involving truck drivers and local lady drivers coming from Nakuru and as far as Molo town😂😂
Very informative.. Good job sir...
I can't say how many times I passed through that road even b4 the barrier 🚧 my neighbour her two children and a maid lost their lives there in 2009 am happy that it's now safe

2017 dec 12 i lost my cousin who had just sat for her KCSE .she was heading to kampala. Imagine her results came she had passed her KCSE and no more
Sad state.. wish you did some CC
Those runaway ramps are just a hopeless case. Too short can't stop a fully loaded semi.
Kazi saafi Zicky
Mbona hukusalimia huyo dem
Why didn't you greet that woman😔but it's ok nice documentary 👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Which woman didn't I greet? Aiii!
I lost my Dad on that stretch good content bro
im so sorry bro
I could recommend the kenya government to consider American 🇺🇲 to build all highways in kenya for my experience they're really good. trust the process 🙏
I wonder how the small runaway ramps will stop any truck, they are very short
Dualling all our major highways is the only way to stop thecarnage on our roads.
this wall is really a godsend❤
No sir! It's engineering
Anyone heading to western better use kabarak Ravine Nyaru route very comfortable because of low traffic
Good 😊
Jana there was an accident that killed 14people the brakes failed
Does Enock knows how the thougth of the erected blocks came to be? Search more sir. There"s more
Good job
Najaribu tu Migot. Appreciated sana
Very nice
well documented!
Visit londiani next.
That those barriers costed the tax payers money 500M is questionable.
No road marks or road signs. No road speed limit signs. No street lights on that stretch. Slow moving trucks and vehicle using the fast lane instead of them staying on the left lane. Vehicles overtaking from the left lane.all these are recipes for disaster.
nice doc
Enock I have a sad story new same place funeral near claimed a lot lately
Go do your research well. Its not just the wall. They build a second road adjacent to the existing one for that 21 km stretch in order to separate the traffic along the entire escapement on that side of the rift valley.
I don't dwell on explaining the obvious. Everyone can pick out that... and the pictures do explain that...so why should I repeat what is so clear to see?
KABURENGU too
The beginning of the wall is the deadliest part of that wall
I gather that's where we now have many accidents
@@KenyanHistorian they need a barrier or slope it into the ground so cars don't hit it directly
Key word...police started selling the fuel at the site...impunity-This cannot just be made up!!
Why can't they make the mass grave more pleasant during the annual anniversary
Nithi bridge needs the same wall
Next document nithi bridge
Salgaa literally means paint home or praise home
u didn't salimia the lady😢
one stretch of road i fear most
