I love the wisdom/gems in this video, and your new Monceau is a beauty! I plan to purchase one of their gorgeous, well-constructed pieces soon. Luxury to me is well-crafted and thoughtful craftsmanship with excellent quality materials. Which is ironic, as many of the luxury European fashion houses are missing these elements as of late, with mass production and consumerism. I stand firmly in my decision to invest in pre-loved, vintage pieces and will continue to do so for higher-end purchases. I am also excited to get into more mid-tier luxury items.
@@urbanflight820I totally agree about the questionable quality these days from the bigger design houses. It feels as though some are cutting corners to churn out more and more collections at a faster pace, and that definitely doesn’t feel like luxury to me.
Luxury to me is not accessible to everyone and is something abnormal in life, whether it is a car or very expensive purse or coat. Luxury are things that make you feel a certain way, no matter what kind of price you pay for it. To me Tory Burch is luxurious, some will only say YSL, Chanel and Dior is. To me all brands who make high quality products are luxurious, I’m not too focused only on the price. Personally, I won’t feel luxurious in a 10€ top. What bothers me most about very cheap clothes, shoes and bags are how cheap they feel to the touch. But I’m not rich, so I don’t spend all of my money on expensive items. I pick and choose my battles 😃 Because if I only owned very expensive things nothing will feel luxurious to me any more. Everything would feel normal, therefore it would lose the appeal or something different, something extra, like you said. Luxury is also peace of mind and peace in your life in general. Luxury is being loved for exactly who you are. 😊

I feel luxurious that I go into 'work' just to have fun not worrying about bills. Luxury to me is having no debt and everything I make goes towards my kids futures. I totally agree with you. I personally wouldn't spend hundreds of dollars on plated jewelry in general but I enjoy them on you. Lovely video❤.great questions too.
I think luxury is the value the item brings to your life. I own pieces of jewelry, bags, and other items that may be considered "luxury" because of the price. Honestly, sometimes I feel apprehensive when I use them because of of the fear of losing them or damaging them. I prefer using other items that were less expensive and are as beautiful as the "luxury" pieces. So luxury to me is beauty, comfort, and value.

This was a great video. The bag is gorgeous. Thanks to you I bought my first Songmont bag and wear it all the time, more than my luxury bags. Luxury is in the eye of the beholder. For me, I love vintage, a piece that not everyone has.
IMO options in the “mid-tier” price range has expanded significantly in the last 5 years. Top tier has fewer attractive options with prices being so much higher due to increases. The top tier bags of $1000-$1500 seem long gone. Mid tier has many leather options.
When it comes to things, luxury to me is about longevity and care. That's why all my "designer" bags are vintage from brands that put craftsmanship at the forefront (Delvaux, Mark Cross). My fine jewelry pieces too are vintage. I care more about noble metals, gemstones, than the brands. I can't wait to share them with my daughter(s) and start a tradition. Other than things, luxury is about creating a good life for my family for as long as possible.
You introduced me to Ateliers Auguste, and this exact mini monceau in taupe is my first purchase! It looks and feels luxury to me. And the feeling I get knowing what I paid for it, is even more luxurious♥
Luxury is calm, comforting and makes you feel special! Price tags don’t matter. I got caught up in buying Patek Philippe watches and other high value jewellery in the past, but rarely wear these pieces now. I don’t feel safe even just walking around, a thing you have alluded to in the past with regard to your Hermės bags. Their specialness is being destroyed by fear of theft. I’d happily wear any of the jewellery you’ve shown and the bag is adorable. Blessings to you in your journey. My journey is continuing after some spiritual guidance suggesting that my energy is dominated by divine masculine qualities. All about doing, achieving and focus. I’m looking to strengthen my divine feminine side by focusing on creative and intuitive qualities. You are really putting out some VERY thought-provoking content, Hanna. (Please correct me if I'm misspelling your name!) That said...I think I'm going to have to redefine my definition of luxury. Some words come to mind: quality, elegance, refinement...but that's not a complete definition. I have a few talents/gifts...one of which is jewelry design. I've made several unique pieces out of sterling silver that I know no one else will have another like them. Just because I made/designed/created them, does that lessen their beauty, quality, or uniqueness when compared to a named designer? I don't think so...and when I wear them, I have people asking where they came from. Back in the day, I used to design, sew, and handbead evening gowns...and they were the equal of anything that came off a designer showroom....maybe even surpassing some, if I say so myself. I am not a named or well-known Parisienne or New York City or London designer, per se...but does that mean that I cannot create unique, luxurious, quality pieces for myself? Of course not. While I have my time invested, but fairly little in materials, does that discount the luxury? No! Now...what I do NOT know how to do is craft leather goods like handbags or shoes...but does that mean I can't recognize luxury items when I see them? No...I'd say I have a developed eye...and a "cheap streak" in that I do NOT let go of my money just for a high-dollar designer label. The HCC and Duyp items I've gotten are sumptuous and luxurious...no small matter that I've saved hundreds to thousands of dollars on them. I recognize quality when I see and feel it. Leather is not much different than quality silks, wools, or tweeds. Because I trust and value your judgment, I would happily try the lines you presented today. I happen to be in the market for quality yet unique AND affordable jewelry...and perhaps a handbag or two...but I'm pretty "secure" in the handbag department currently. Anyway...thanks for posing such thought-provoking questions! I appreciate you!!!
Oh wow! You are so talented in many ways! I remember some of your past comments and how you would share about materials and quality. I wish I could see the jewelry you created yourself! I bet they are unique and special and you know I’m a huge fan of one-of-kind jewelry pieces!! ✨ Also I’m so glad you’re enjoying your pieces from the DUYP collab. This makes me happy to hear. ❤ I do think that once we broaden our minds outside of the conventional marketer’s definition of “luxury” we can have a whole lot more fun! 😊
I agree with you. When it comes to materialistic luxury I think what makes something luxurious is the quality. If an item is cheap and has high quality I might buy it. If another item is expensive and has high quality I am also going to buy it. So for me the brand name etc. does not matter rather the quality. xx Lucia
I love collecting fine jewelry but I never buy from brands. I am blessed to be working here in the middle east and jewelry here is very affordable compared to the cost of branded fine jewelry. Luxury for me doesn't have to be expensive. If the quality and the material it's made from is good then it's still luxury for me.
Do you like the white color more or this color of the bag? Which color is your most favorite? I was waiting the for the white color with gold hardware. Now I am having hard time to choose 😍
This is a hard question bc I love how feather light the white one is since it had no hardware and I’ve used it so much and made memories with it during my travels but this new taupe color with the hardware is so pretty!! Still, if I could only choose one, I’d probably stick to the white one only bc I have no other white bags in my closet, whereas I do have other beige tone bags. Hope that helps.
Just got that same bag in the darker caramel. I love how light it is. Great leather smell. Even like the linen dust bag. Great craftsmanship and value It happens to match a beret I had. Can’t wait for the colder weather! 😂
Luxury to me is being healthy and having the health and time to spend it with those that are dearest and closest to me. While I enjoy owning luxury items but these are material items. I think as I grow older, I value my health the most. If I am healthy and able to live my life, there’s no luxury in the world that would truly brings that joy into my life. Simple blessings in life is def the highest form of luxury. Waking up to a brand new day is also a luxury…
I have never subscribed to the public opinion on luxury and I completely agree with your statement in the video. Health , time and countless other things which is not something you can physically obtain is true luxury. I was tagged in a topic similar to this and my stance ( which I still believe) is the luxury is ultimately subjective to one’s experiences and what they hold dear. For me it is the ability to do whatever I want whenever I want. I definitely do not always have that luxury and may never attain it completely, but that is what I feel luxury is to me at this current stage of my life. Great video!! Also in terms of the eye candy. I love the new bag but I just recently got the APC small Grace bag in a similar color , but it’s very pretty. For the jewelry I have very few items that are only gold and not gold plated. But the jewelry I do have, whether vermeil, plated, or just plain sterling silver are of good materials and have stood the test of time. I did not pay thousands but they are beautiful and sturdy. That fore is making your money work for and still enjoy the glitz and glamour you love.
Oh my goodness, YES! The ability to do what we want - that kind of freedom is really luxury! 👏 Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I hope you’re enjoying your new APC bag!
You are absolutely right about not needing to pay thousands to get quality handbags. Specifically, brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Valentino have inadvertently helped to expose this fact given the constant quality concerns with their bags and shoes over the past 5 years.
Indeed, the quality decline coupled with the increasing prices from those higher end brands have created space for up-and-coming brands to take advantage by offering more value to those consumers looking for other options. I love it!
Huge fan of Sezane clothing and I’ve been to their store in Paris. Their bags are lovely. I will say, they are noticeably heavier than the Ateliers Auguste bags bc of the compartments. Something to note.
I recently bought a mini Milo from Sezane and loving it! Gave me the same joy as my higher end bags. Definitely relate to this video, thanks Hannah for pointing out luxury doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag.
Luxury is exactly what you said. But material items are thing I just don’t go out and just buy every week or Luxury is things that I have to save for. Something that I’m excited about getting that makes me happy. Now your new bag Is beautiful. Definitely a good size. I agree it is a classic looking bag.
the color of the Ateliers Auguste bag is beautiful as is the design. My only concern with this style is that i've noticed in videos of this bag is that the corners of the front flap seem to be a little bit raised/elevated and not flush against the bag. I would like to see a 1 or 2 year review of how this bag holds up and how the opening flap looks after time, if it lifts off further at the corners or maintains its shape. The leather also looks a little bit thinner or flatter than the Celine bag. The leather on the Celine Classic Box looks a little more puffy or thick than the Ateliers does.
I have another Mini Monceau bag from a year ago and there’s no lifting on the flaps even though I’ve worn it quite a lot. To your point though, the leather on the AA bags are not as thick and heavy as the Celine Classic box bag, so for that reason I find the AA bags lighter and more comfortable to wear but we’ll have to see about durability over the years.
Beautiful bag , colour and hardware 🤎💛The ring and bracelet looks way more expensive, so lovely, so eye catching, I always look at the item more than the brand. How alike are the bracelets.I think luxury is something you enjoy wearing ❤Thanks for your video and love your mindset, time is luxury xx
Now I need to look at the price tags, if it's too high, I start to think "ok now it's not so pretty". Applies for jewelry and bags. Jewelry wise, I like shopping local than going to brand names because I want to pay for the quality and not paying for the brand name. Thank you for sharing your experience on Italo jewelry. ❤
Luxury to me is health, love, happiness, and that our daughter thrives in today's age of so many of our youth depressed and struggling. As for bags and jewelry its what I find I think is cool and enjoy has nothing to do with brand and price, I have Tory Burch I love, as well as my little old LV bag and my WOC, but real luxury is that its made of quality leather that lasts.
I look at where things are made and the quality of the materials to define luxury, I also have been judging companies on their ethical practices, luxury should not be exploiting workers. I am starting to like smaller companies that use quality leather and quality metals.
Based on your bracelet review from Italo I ordered a pair of stud earrings. Then I saw all the negative reviews. Hundreds of negative reviews even on Better Business Bureau site. Now I'm concerned I've wasted $90 on bad merchandise. we're you aware of the negative reviews on quality and bad customer service? Awaiting delivery of the earrings and I hope I'm one of the lucky few and I get a decent pair of studs.
Have you received your stud earrings yet? I’ve been pleasantly surprised with my pieces and how they’re holding up. But I wasn’t aware of the reviews on BBB and instead relied on the positive reviews on their website. I know BBB can be tricky because that’s where generally the most negative reviews are posted vs positive ones, but thank you for bringing my attention to this. Please let me know what your personal experience is with the earrings you ordered.
@hellocatwalkcity yes I did receive them and was very impress with the packaging. They sent me shipping information but it took about a week or so to be able to track the shipment coming from China and then through the US. In all it took about 3 weeks to receive them. I am considering another purchase after Christmas.
The earrings are a present for my daughter so we'll see how they hold up after Christmas. I purchased the classic gold 6 prong Tiffany setting. They look about 1 caret for each ear. They look well made and have sparkle.
Personally I’m still making a distinction between good quality and luxury. I’m talking about material things. If I can easily afford something and can get it anytime I want, I don’t see it as exclusive or luxurious. It needs to be more special by the materials, the experience, the exclusivity. For example, if I decide to get a 200$ bag that is well made, I won’t call it luxury but I will say it’s a very nice quality for the price tag.
Thank you again for the giveaway. I am enjoying it very much :) I agree that this little mini size in this neutral color is just perfect. Your video once again was on point!
Luxury spending for me is when I spend on something beyond my basic needs like nicer house, nicer clothes, nicer car, nicer food etc etc. The ceiling price for the cost of luxury depends on my perceived value of the items and what values it gives to my life be it comfort, quality, happiness etc. I will not spend beyond what I can afford though.
are you sure Italo is legit? because I ordered something 5 days ago and they send me a shipping confirmation with a very long tracking number but doesn’t belong to any carrier nor do they mention the shipping carrier they use…
I always received an oddly long tracking number and never bothered to pay attention to it since all of my packages arrived safely. I’ve had some of my viewers tell me they ordered pieces after watching my older videos with Italo, and they received their orders just fine as well. Should there be a problem, please do let me know because I’d like to be aware.
Personally the Italo items aren’t luxury to me but I still like them and would buy them too. I’d just call them jewelwry pieces instead of luxury jewellery pieces. Luxury doesn’t mean unobtainable to me either and personally I find designer easily obtainable but it does have to be crafted well of high quality materials. With this definition some designer brands aren’t luxury too. Also agree things you can buy are more important too. Just things that are $100 to me aren’t luxury but they can still be relatively cheap $1000.
I have the luxury of having retired relatively young and have enough in pension and savings to not have to change my way of living. THAT is a true luxury.
❤❤❤For me, luxury is definitely something that I cannot buy any time I want. It’s something expensive and gorgeous and one of a kind. I’m buying luxury only if I know that I can pass it on to my children and it will have better value later. 🤷🏼♀️But I’ll definitely buy that ring for under $150 because it’s beautiful. I would not pay for that ring if it was designer for $7000 When it comes to jewelry, I love vintage, timeless pieces and one of a kind. My husband was able to give me a few pieces. 😁
Luxury is fine quality things you don't need but sumptuous or abundant. I don't consider costume jewelry or faux luxury. I do not need a whole lot of labels or sparkle to feel fancy, so I am okay with quiet or affordable luxury,
I love the look of this jewelry.. I did a deep dive into the company and it is a China based company and there many, many bad reviews on the better business bureau site. And several other sites. Almost sounds like a TEMU business model. Buyer beware
I do think that concept of luxury is more outward facing... We normally crave things that would make others feel that we are living a luxurious life... Is this an ideal way of setting your priorities: ofcourse not... But we are all human and it's very hard to grow totally immune to other people's perception of you... This is always going to be a work in progress...
I don’t have a separate finance channel but I do have a playlist called Money & Mindfulness where I store all of my finance related content. Hope you’ll check it out.
As far as jewelry is concerned, for it to be luxury, at the very minimum it needs to AT LEAST be SOLID gold or platinum. Not gold plated, gold filled, or whatever other terminology is used to denote that a piece of jewelry is not SOLID gold. After all, that is the difference between fashion or costume jewelry and fine jewelry. So, the ring shown at the beginning would not be a luxury item, imo. Also, since it is plated and not solid gold, it will indeed tarnish. As for Phoebe Philo, I had no intention of purchasing anything from her ever due to the revelations about her being a bigot but the fact that she had the audacity to price a gold PLATED necklace (this is one of the items in that boring new collection of hers) at $5,000 is astounding.
I hear you, it’s the distinction between fine jewelry and fashion jewelry. I just like that there are fun pieces accessible to more people at affordable prices. None of the Italo pieces I’ve received so far have tarnished and some are from last year so we’ll see how they hold over longer time. As for the Phoebe Philo plated necklace at $5,000 - don’t even get me started!! 😂
I nice decent bag should not cost more that $2000 max. Whilst Chanel make huge profits from selling a bad that cost $10K for a price of production of $1K max includes labour.
Luxury…. Being alive and Not being persecuted for being a women, a child, or from another religion. Going to sleep in a warm bed ,knowing your love ones are safe and with a full stomach . Breathing and waking up the next day with peace . Luxury .
Thanks for the video. I like how you always share those new and up-coming or lesser known brands that produce high quality products. What do you think of Khaite and their bags?
So glad you enjoyed the video! I actually quite like Khaite’s overall aesthetic. The Sara Tote definitely caught my attention when it first came out. I appreciate the simplicity behind many of their designs.
Luxury I feel started w social media -I never saw people have shelves in a room w 10 Chanel bags, 5 Gucci bags, 3 Hermes bags and I think many have gone into debt because of this -I have some bags and shoes -no debt -but I barely use my bags-I grew up w you don’t flaunt your stuff -I bought some shoes this year-no more bags ,,
Oh my gosh! 😂 I still can’t get used to the wall of shelves showing all the handbags! I refuse to do this and actually think it will stress me out to see all my stuff hanging out in the open, but that’s just me. My bags are tucked away in my closet “quietly.” 😅 But I will say, please USE YOUR BAGS! It’s not about flaunting them, it’s about enjoying them. And if you don’t enjoy them, maybe it’s time to let them go. They’re not meant to just sit collecting dust, right?
What is your definition of luxury? I share my candid thoughts towards the end of this video but I’d love to know what you think. Please share below! 👇

This was a great video. The bag is gorgeous. Thanks to you I bought my first Songmont bag and wear it all the time, more than my luxury bags. Luxury is in the eye of the beholder. For me, I love vintage, a piece that not everyone has.
Thank you! I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying your Songmont bag. 😊
IMO options in the “mid-tier” price range has expanded significantly in the last 5 years. Top tier has fewer attractive options with prices being so much higher due to increases.
The top tier bags of $1000-$1500 seem long gone. Mid tier has many leather options.
Is this good to wear in London to prevent pick pocketers
Oh amazing!! So glad to hear this! 💕
I’m wondering if as being a fellow Type A this might be something of interest to you on your current journey? Xxx
Oh wow, very interesting about the masculine and feminine energies! I feel I’ve been operating more in my masculine energy the past few years and I feel so off balance! I’d love to learn more!
The book I’m reading is by an author local to me, Mother Earth is Calling you by Sonraya Grace. I’m currently about a third through and enjoying it. There are loads of resources out there though!@@hellocatwalkcity
You are really putting out some VERY thought-provoking content, Hanna. (Please correct me if I'm misspelling your name!)
That said...I think I'm going to have to redefine my definition of luxury.
Great video! Is Atelier taupe color close to Hermes etoupe? I am trying to match a bag to Hermes etoupe belt and shoes. Thanks!
I’d say it’s in the same color category, with the AA taupe being a bit softer and less saturated than H etoupe.
luxury to me means guilt-free comfortability
This is a great definition. 👌
I agree with you. When it comes to materialistic luxury I think what makes something luxurious is the quality. If an item is cheap and has high quality I might buy it. If another item is expensive and has high quality I am also going to buy it. So for me the brand name etc. does not matter rather the quality.
xx Lucia
Well said 👍
I love collecting fine jewelry but I never buy from brands. I am blessed to be working here in the middle east and jewelry here is very affordable compared to the cost of branded fine jewelry. Luxury for me doesn't have to be expensive. If the quality and the material it's made from is good then it's still luxury for me.
Hi! Hi would you compare the Atelier August taupe from your Cuyana Cappuccino shade? Which is lighter or more brown/khaki? Thank u ❤
Just posted a side by side on my Instagram and also on my YT community page! Hope it helps!
@@hellocatwalkcity Woah you delivered! 🤭❤️ Thank you so much. And this AU bag is currently OOS. Hopefully they’ll restock it 🥲
❤sweet message that real luxury is love, friendships,...
Thank you 🙏 ❤
Just got that same bag in the darker caramel. I love how light it is. Great leather smell. Even like the linen dust bag. Great craftsmanship and value
It happens to match a beret I had. Can’t wait for the colder weather! 😂
Oh my goodness, the darker caramel color is so pretty too!! Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I love all of my Ateliers Auguste bags!
So so true ❤ this is how I’m feeling too
I have never subscribed to the public opinion on luxury and I completely agree with your statement in the video.
Have never heard of this brand! Beautiful detail! Thank you so much for sharing, love it❤
My pleasure! It’s such a beautiful Parisian brand! I’m glad I was able to introduce them to you. 😊
I love it!
i was debating this or the Sezane, which has a store in nyc. I'm still deciding.
@@rebeccang9581aw wonderful!! So glad to hear this.
Luxury is exactly what you said. But material items are thing I just don’t go out and just buy every week or Luxury is things that I have to save for. Something that I’m excited about getting that makes me happy. Now your new bag Is beautiful. Definitely a good size. I agree it is a classic looking bag.
Aw yes, buying something, whether luxury or not, every week will get super old and boring. Even with enough money, who wants to live like that?
the color of the Ateliers Auguste bag is beautiful as is the design.
@@hellocatwalkcity thank you for your thoughtful response. I am considering getting an AA bag in the color you have. It's very beautiful.
Love it!!!! Please show more on this bag
I will! Please stay tuned

Yes, I was shocked by the comparison of the bracelets! 😅 Oh and totally agree, time is luxury.
I’ve been eyeing the mini monceau in taupe since it came out! Love the color!!
It’s a really pretty neutral!
Wow the tennis bracelets!!!!! I’m shocked I can’t tell 😂❤❤😅
Right? It’s crazy! 😂
This ring looks like perlée ring from van cleef, is it a dupe?
It reminded me of VCF too! I don’t think it’s meant to be a dupe but it looks quite similar!
I look at where things are made and the quality of the materials to define luxury, I also have been judging companies on their ethical practices, luxury should not be exploiting workers. I am starting to like smaller companies that use quality leather and quality metals.
I also ordered a bracelet from Italo a month ago and have yet to receive it. They have terrible reviews online I caution buying from them.
Please let me know if you’ve received your order.
@@hellocatwalkcity I received my order this week after I disputed the charge with PayPal. Will not be ordering from them again.
I love the bag😍! I would never guess the price of the ring!
Love the pink undertone of this nude. Time is the ultimate Luxury.
Agree! Beige with pink undertones are my fave! And absolutely, time is such a luxury.
That hot little number bag is sold out. 😮😮😮. I agree with this video.
Oh wow, that was fast!
That’s what I said 🤣😂
Personally I’m still making a distinction between good quality and luxury.
True, there needs to be a feeling of it being special, as you say. Even if it’s subjective.
Thank you again for the giveaway. I am enjoying it very much :) I agree that this little mini size in this neutral color is just perfect. Your video once again was on point!
Aw yay!!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the bag! 💕
Totally agree. If we go beyond what we can afford, it’s not a luxury but a burden!
are you sure Italo is legit? because I ordered something 5 days ago and they send me a shipping confirmation with a very long tracking number but doesn’t belong to any carrier nor do they mention the shipping carrier they use…
I agree with you and a designer name and high sticker price doesn’t automatically equate to high quality and luxury. 👌
I have the luxury of having retired relatively young and have enough in pension and savings to not have to change my way of living. THAT is a true luxury.
Yes!!! 👏 👏 👏
I would not pay for that ring if it was designer for $7000
When it comes to jewelry, I love vintage, timeless pieces and one of a kind. My husband was able to give me a few pieces. 😁
I’m with you on the one-of-a-kind pieces!
I agree the modern day view of luxury has become quite tied to what others may think… and I think the true meaning has gotten lost along the way.
@@hellocatwalkcity often we don't realise how many of our luxuries are we giving up to live up to other people's idea of luxury...
Hello, do you have a financial channel?
I don’t have a separate finance channel but I do have a playlist called Money & Mindfulness where I store all of my finance related content. Hope you’ll check it out.
Let me piggyback on your question. If you're not using the bag/item, is still luxury?
Ohhhh, good followup question!!! Is useless unused luxury actually luxury? 🤔
🤎🤎🤎💛💛💛
I am a snob...so no
That’s okay 😂 love the honesty!
Luxury simply means the items we spend on aren't worth the price. Overpriced shopping.
This! 🤣 🤣 🤣
Philo’s collection was blah… no thanks
Italo is made in China. Correct me if I am wrong?
This is correct. Their website states that their manufacturing facility is based in China.
