In today's Video, I discuss a big update on DON'T NOD's newest game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage! We got a lot of details on the game along with a new trailer! DON'T NOD is back again with a new universe called Lost Records which has an eerily similar vibe to Life is Strange! Deck Nine Games is working on "Life Is Strange 4" which will likely have new characters and locations. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a new narrative adventure game from the creators of the critically acclaimed series, Life is Strange. Film your last summer in Velvet Cove playing as Swann, a quirky introvert who loves capturing reality through the lens of her trusty camcorder. Get to know Nora, the rebellious firecracker; Autumn, the thoughtful leader; and Kat, enigmatic and strong-willed - the summer of ‘95 is gonna be one to remember! Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will release late this year (2024) on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Lost Records Bloom and Rage is the first game from DON'T NOD Montréal with people like Michel Koch, Luc Baghadoust, and a lot of the old team behind the first two LIS Games. I kinda like the massive time gap from 1995 to 2022. So much change occurred and it will be cool to notice the differences throughout the game.
True, and it also means that the main character is going to be in their 30's at minimum, depending on how old they were in 1995. That will be interesting to play someone older at that point in the story.

These projects after LIS2, such as "Tell Me Why" & now this game (that also includes supernatural elements), seem to ME like they were going to be actual Life is Strange games if DontNod still had access to the IP.
The Life is Strange series was suppose to be an Anthology series. With each entry being set in the same world but focusing on brand new characters.
But as the recent IGN article showed us, Square Enix wanted the Life is Strange series to avoid becoming a series that catered to the LGBTQ community. And instead be less inclusive.
IMO, DontNod didn't want to quit making "gay games" and they opted to leave the IP. And instead make their own games without limitations.
Its a shame. It would've been awesome if these stories from DontNod were also part of the LiS universe.
The SE is SOL then because, dislike the new team if you want but they've kept LiS HELLA gay.
That being said, Tell me why was a MAJOR disappointment so I'm hoping this game is much better.
Yeah idk i think theyre kind of overdoing it now with the whole new-school woke aesthetic compared to LiS1 etc. It was much more subtle in its delivery.

This game looks very interesting! Also Dom, there’s a game that came out a little while ago called As Dusk Falls, and I think it’d be your style (decision based, story focused), you should check it out some day and play/talk about it!

The main character using the camcorder as a tool to view the world they are in resonates with the 15 year old me as I created skits/short stories that was played out by family members and neighbors. Looks like I'm going to go all in in another Don't Nod game that will speak volumes to me. I'm ready for another emotional rollercoaster ride. After Sean & Daniel, Its long overdue.

I'm really happy to hear that the game will be published in 2 episodes. That really was something I kinda missed when True Colors was released (I know, I know, not Don'tNod). When I learned about LiS, it already was released a few years back, same on LiS 2, so this time, for the first time, I will be part of the hyped and excited community following the story and impatiently waiting for it to be continued, coming up with theories etc.... I have to admit, I'm really fucking excited 😍😅

Really excited for this. Decknine's stuff is ok, I like it, but it feels like Life is Strange fanfic to me... but Dontnod are truly original and I'm glad they're finally revisiting this niche, even if it's not actually Life is Strange. I am ready to have too many feelings about video game characters again.

so in the other worldline (worldline B or beta worldline with a divergence value between 1.000000β and 1.999999β) - we see that Max Caulfield is in the Vortex club, and her name there was 'Maxine'. So in that worldline attractor field, Max was two times in the Vortex club (max + Courtney as they are the same VA). The creators of Life is Strange said that they are currently making a new life is strange 4, where Max and Chloe continue living (after they destroyed Arcadia Bay). I hope that the creators will make the time travel duo (Max and Chloe) try to reach Steins;gate, steins gate worldline is a worldline in which both Chloe and Arcadia Bay stays alive (which is mildly hinted in the bonus episode where 13 year old max and chloe are playing.. at the end of this bonus episode, Chloe plays an audio tape which Max recorded. If you hear the audio tape then there are clues that it's actually future Max that recorded this audio tape, suggesting that Max will try to time travel again to save both Chloe and Arcadia Bay
I'm highly excited and interested in this game and I cannot wait to play it. I have loved Don'tnod games ever since they made their first game called Remember Me (2013) which was a sci-fi beat em up game (also the robot panda keychain that Chloe Price has came from that game as an easter egg, in case you didn't know) and when they did Life is Strange (2015), I was hooked! So, this is going to be an amazing experience for me because I love narrative adventure games overall.
Yeah I played the hell out of remember me. It was considered a mediocre game, but i enjoyed it.
I am so excited for this and LiS4! I was pretty late to the LiS party. I only watched a playthrough of the 1st one on UA-cam when it came out. Then when True Colors came out I decided to finally get the whole series and marathon it in time for True Colors and it was just a magical experience. Also, does anyone count Twin Mirror as a LiS spin off? I haven't played it yet and I haven't really seen anyone talk about it.
My only complaint about episodic releases, is that I feelings that I had on the previous episodes vanishes or I have to recall on the decisions that I made. Especially if it's a month long wait. I hoped that it was 2 weeks maximum, but now I'm just going to buy it when the last episodes releases.

To all the players like this kind of games…your personality is quality discret and smart, you love nature and you are different because you impose your proper ending not follow everyone’s path in game. You enjoy playing with your mind than just pressing buttons like an idiot and you are careful of decision you take and thats reflect a great person you are in life.
Honesty I thought Kat would be the playable protagonist of the game, it's gonna be fun playing as Swann, and her camcorder is similar to Max's camera.
I also have this to say, DONTNOD did an amazing job at making all the characters in this game feel as if they were gonna be the playable character. Also can't forget to mention the scenery and music are a thing of pure beauty 🤗
Also love that the characters look realistic, not in a graphical sense, but they have different body types etc and don't look like carbon copies! (Taller/shorter, larger, smaller, brown hair, blonde hair, red hair, dyed hair, etc) I also like that they aren't all white characters too and it doesn't feel like a diversity push, it feels natural and I appreciate it ♡

I’ll play it since it’s two different timelines. I’m not sure what this kick of setting everything in the 90s is now.m though. Part of why I loved LIS was the nostalgia though. It came out 7 years after I graduated and really reminded me of what it was like in highschool with doing things like sneaking into a pool or having long intense conversations like we were some revolutionaries when in reality, we didn’t know anything. 😂 it was some of the best of times for sure.

There's obviously a lot to like about this, and the fact that it's coming from the original team behind Life is Strange means we know the narrative is going to be deep and detailed. However, based on all the information we have so far, I am worried that the characters are coming off as archetypes of the LIS1 cast. I have already heard comparisons between Swann and Max, Nora and Chloe, Kat and Kate, and so on. If Don't Nod is dead serious about allowing this new franchise to blossom and stand on its own, we need reasons to love them other than "Here's your new Max Caulfield".

SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN 2
(If talking about a side mission can be considered spoilers.)
I hope this new franchise adds a Deaf character. Hear me out. The animation quality is so good that ASL would actually be understood. It has been proven that a playable Deaf character can be done in an interesting way. Spider-Man 2 PS5 has a side mission where you get to play as up and coming black Deaf artist, Hailey Cooper. You experience the world through her perspective. You can hear some tones and you can't with others. Speech is so muffled that it can't be understood at all. The story was about as interesting as you can get from a side mission where you play a character without superpowers, but the artistic representation worked so well. Her internal dialogue was represented through thought bubbles that had expressions in the form of spray paint art. This is also how she saw other people. Over top of other people's heads were bubbles showing how they were feeling, representing her reading their expressions. Anytime a person who didn't know ASL talked to her, the captions dropped because she could not understand them, so the same experience happened to you. You have to use context clues and alternative communication methods to make your way through her mission. I think this could be an interesting concept for a character in a mystery game. You, as the main character, can't rely on over hearing conversations or quick easy communication (unless said NPC knows ASL). A playable Deaf character would not only be unique and help add more inclusion to this amazing up and coming game universe, but it would mean so much to the Deaf community to have more than one accurately represented character in gaming.

People sleep on True Colors, it's my personal favorite. Honestly my top ten favorite games of all time. The gorgeous atmosphere, playing dungeons and dragons with a more grown Steph UGH! I can't stress how much I love it. I have a good feeling this will also be amazing and possibly...hmmm 1995, right? Maybe how they all get their powers?? We shall see.

I’m really excited for this game but I don’t know if I will be able to play it. It doesn’t look like it’s coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch. I do have Steam on my PC but it has a terrible graphics card and I’m not sure if it will be able to play the game. But, however, if the Lost Records comes to Xbox Cloud Gaming I will be able to play it even though I don’t have an Xbox Series X/S
