I find that my extremely dry skin works better with powder foundations rather than cream or liquid foundations. This is because my skin is so dry it slurps up all the liquid components, leaving the solids in a flaking crust on my skin. I get the best results when I go in with a very rich moisturizer, then a moisturizing primer, and then the powder foundation.

I love Physician"s Formula products! As a dry/mature skin gal, I find that any of their "powder" products made with the various butters are great. This includes eyeshadows, blushes, bronzers, highlighters, face powders, etc., you get the idea. Something about the butters in the formulation changes the way it wears on your skin. Now, they can be softer formulas...so, you have to be aware of that when dipping your brushes into them at first. This doesn't bother me, though, because I've noticed many "high-end" products are softer in the same way in videos. Just take care in how you work with the product, and you will be pleased, I think! If you're looking for a drugstore brand that wears well on dry/mature skin, PF is a good place to start! 💜

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder is so finely milled that it's perfect in the undereye area, even on dry skin types. I use a triangular puff with the loose version, tap off, and then pat on. Doesn't crease, doesn't accumulate in the lines, and it's perfectly translucent. No scent. No flashback. Also, relatively cheap at $11 USD.

Glad that we may give our opinion on this channel.
Great video but unfortunately the Givenchy pink loose powder doesn’t really work for me under my eyes. I have a very dry skin, supposedly mature, I’m lucky enough not to have many wrinkles and not too much texture, but the Givenchy powder emphasizes wrinkles that I didn’t know I had and it looks so dry on my skin. I agree with everything you said regarding the Hourglass finishing powders: fantastic! The Physicians Formula ones are great too, not the one that you showed, I don’t have that one but I have finishing powders by Physicians Formula which are amazing (the Murumuru Butter Glow powders).
Otherwise, I love the One/Size loose powder or the Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder (love it!) or the Rimmel pressed powder, or the No 7 (the original version) pressed powder, they work great on my skin.
I bought the mini size of the Givenchy loose powder in pink because it was so recommended and I am so disappointed… I will use it because I don’t like throwing my money away but I’m really not happy with it.
The Kosas cloud thing is not bad on my face but certainly not for under my eyes. And it is very fragile, I just have a mini size. I have a sample of the Hourglass loose powder, now I understand why it doesn’t look “powdery”, I will use it accordingly, thank you for this info.

I enjoy the Huda loose powders very much on my mature skin. It is blurring and holds my foundation in place. I even set my eyeshadowbase with it. I use it in my T-zone, yawline, around my mouth (my foundation always oxidates there but that Huda powder prevents that!). Funnily enough I just did a make up test today, left side different products than right side of face - inspired by your comparison videos where you do the same. Powder-wise, I used the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder on the left and the Guerlain Meteorites in light on the right to see the differences for myself and which I like better.
I like to use the Meteorites under the eyes and possibly on the cheeks to bring everything together (blush/bronzer) and the Hourglass powder for the rest of the face. The Hourglass is of course also better in summer, when you sweat more and there is more humidity. But I also like the shimmer of the Meteorites.
I know one is a setting powder and the other is a finishing powder, but for me the Meteorites are also a bit “setting”
Not to forget: I have very dry skin ;-)

Do yo have tips for applying powder foundation with liquid concealer? I’m also acne prone and usually spot conceal with a high coverage concealer after liquid foundation, would I do this before if using a powder foundation? Love this video, this makes me want to try a powder foundation!! ❤

Haus Labs is okay too, but these are all definitely better. I will add that By Terry makes a powder that is almost a dupe for what was THE best powder ever, the Becca one that was hydrating (forget the exact name). Nothing has ever been quite as good since!

I’m in the search for one. In previous years I used No7 and they changed the formulation and now I hate it. I do like Kosas so far.

I am doing some hardcore research to find a good loose powder before August lolol..I want something super blurring but I personally hate the Maybelline loose powder and am scared the other powders I'm looking into will give a similar effect. I think the Maybelline looks dry and cakey on my skin and my makeup creases instantly and I also find that it darkens on my face even if I lightly set with something else before🥲
Can you try out the lorac loose powder in the pink shade and also the Rodial loose powder? I am curious to see how they compare!

What are your thoughts on the MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation? I have mature, dry skin and really like it. I have never been a makeup girly until recent years (I'm in my 50s, go figure) so I started with powder foundation. Mostly because I never really liked how liquid foundation felt. Also, powder was more appealing to me because of the time factor. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts on the MAC product.
