Thank you for the appreciation, it means a lot to me. I'm just sharing my experience and I hope this will be helpful for those who are seeking PhD admissions.
Brother, i am a petroleum engineer. I wanna switch my field to physics. What about my LOR. Should i make write LOR from my university professors ? Kindly help
I don’t have an exact answer to your question but I can share my experience: I was lecturer in a university when I was applying for PhD. I asked my M.Phil supervisor to write an LOR for me and another one from the head of department of the university where I was lecturer. For the third letter I asked a professor who knew me very well because he had already taught me 3 or 4 courses during my MSc and M.Phil and I had A in all of his courses.
@@uniquesienceacademyI took both the tests. TOEFL/IELTS is compulsory for sure and even though very few schools say GRE is not required but they also prefer those who have GRE. Your chances are high if you have both these tests.
Wsalam, GRE isn’t the only factor to determine your chances of admission. Your admission depends on many factors: GRE and TOEFL/IELTS scores, grades, publications, experience (if any), the university where you are applying etc. Since you’ve already two publications, your chances look bright. Check the requirements of the schools where you are applying, they may specifically mention the minimum scores of verbal and Quant in GRE and minimum score for TOEFL/IELTS.
The university shortlisting matters a lot. If you are looking for high ranked schools, they may ask for very good GRE scores, say 165+ (or even the perfect score, 170) in Quant since you are Mathematics major (they may also ask for GRE Subject Math as well). If your GRE score is not too good but rest of your profile is extraordinary (like you’ve already 2 publications and say you’ve good grades overall), you may still get an admission (again the university shortlisting is very important). On the other hand, if your overall grades aren’t that good then GRE may compensate that if you have a decent GRE score.
@kiran almost every school offers teaching/research assistantship along with the admission offer letter if you apply for PhD and if you get that then you don’t have to show any bank statement. The assistantship is not only enough to cover your expenses like tuition fee, health insurance etc. but you’ll also receive monthly stipend because of the assistantship to pay for groceries and rent etc.
I just did my graduation in medical technology, i have 2 publication and i am going to attempt ielts next month then i will apply direct PhD is there any chance can i get PhD direct after my undergraduate

Wsalam, JazaKaAllah. 1. You can watch 2 complete videos on GRE in the same playlist of the above video (I have tried to explain what’s GRE and how to prepare for it in those two videos). I have also mentioned there the material I used to prepare for the GRE and you can find all those books for free on google search. 2. I gave TOEFL instead of IELTS because it’s similar to the GRE. You can find a video on TOEFL as well in the same playlist and I have shared all my experience about TOEFL including the material as well. 3. I don’t have any list of schools which offer admission without the GRE. But almost ever school will ask you about TOEFL/IELTS or may be any other English proficiency test. But it may also depend on your subject/field as well. I would recommend you contacting a few schools to know more about these requirements.
Thank you, sir, for keeping us up-to-date
