When i was a kid i bought a used 'yellow' version of pokemon 1st gen at a game store. It ended up having a mew on it! Such memories at those stores as a kid.
I like how this is a combination of you getting out and being active, as well as talking about video games. Keep it up Boogie, you're back in a big way!
I’m a Video Game collector and for the most part I do agree with you BUT Gamestop Is the best place to Grab Last Generation Games, they just want to get rid of them. Best time to grab a bulk of games is when they have Deals. Unfortunately this is only great for the last few years of the console’s life because by that time, Trash/filler games will only be traded.
this video was really cool. stores like these doesnt exist in my town anymore, sadly. i miss so much as a kid going into a gamestop to get a game i was saving up for. those days will never return and will never really exist for kids these days, and i think that is really sad. so this video was a great nostalgia trip, in a beautiful, sad kinda way if that makes sence.
Boogie, this kind of video format is really good, we’re at a point in time now where everything is suddenly changing really quickly, the days of midnight releases and going to the game stores with your friends are well and truly over, it’s exactly like Blockbuster - we didn’t realise what we had until it went! So it’s such a good idea to document it as if it’s gone, even though they are still, just about here. Don’t think anyone else is doing this - please do more!
We have Vintage Stock here in Kansas City. I feel like in store vintage video games have dried up since the pandemic as it seems like retro gaming exploded. Last few years there’s just no old systems left when before there were always multiple copies of NES, SNES, and Genesis systems at every store and now there’s none.
I’m loving these vlogs, seeing you out and about exploring your home town and have a chat with us about your thoughts and interests have been great, can’t wait for more :)
2:25 I've been trying to look for Megaman Battle Network Collection in my area for the past month and still no luck (rural area). Btw I enjoyed this video, Boogie 👍
I remember back in the day, there was a GameStop around the corner from where I lived. I would sometimes just go in to hangout and the workers knew me by name and we would talk about video games, music, and other stuff, they would even let me buy rated M games when I was 14 😂. When they were closing, I remember I needed a new charger for my 3ds and they just let me have the charger and a few games for free because the manager was bummed he probably wasn’t going to see me again and wanted to give me going away gift, the manager was a really cool dude.
GameStop ppl here are super nice & friendly too, I genuinely believe they love video games and cuz so few ppl come in anymore they r gratefully for those that do so they can talk gaming
Since there never was any such neat shops in my country seeing rows and rows of games and films just pleases my eyes. Hearing you talk about it also please my ears. Keep on keeping on
We have a few Vintage Stocks here in Missouri I love going into actual stores. I really miss Family Video we had one in are small South West town. I'm really going to miss it going around browsing renting Caddy Shack or getting a free rental. I'm going to enjoy GameStop as long as it's around. Have a wonderful week.
VINTAGE STOCK!!! I miss this place! I always went to the one in Joplin, MO every weekend. when I lived in the area. I wished I could find one in Minnesota.
Loving the daily/almost daily vlogging (but also, don't feel like you NEED to-do what is best for your mental health). If you're out and about, or doing something at home and you want to share, even just as a quick short, I'm all for daily content. Whatever it is lol. I enjoy the gaming stuff, I enjoy the traveling stuff, I enjoy when you are out walking for your health, etc. It's all great. Once a day, once a week, we're here for you :) Thank you for the great content! Also, clearance prices seem to never be any cheaper. I agree. Maybe a few dollars off, if even. Mostly, I think they just stick the sticker on and hope people see it who don't know any better will see it and buy for their friends/family 😅
Vintage Stock or VStock is also around in the Saint Louis, MO area. I used to go to the one in St. Charles Mall all the time. Cool store. Definitely quickly becoming a throwback. Love that store, I could take a nap in there lol. Makes me feel comfy.
Great video Boogie! I used to enjoy GameStop but every time I go to the one in Conway it just makes me sad, it’s like the magic is sucked out but the mom and pop game stores here are a blast to go to and I always find something to buy 😂 I’ve been to the one you went to waiting on a Razorback game haha
Its hard for me to say just how much I have personally benefited from PC Gaming. I don't play games, well, almost never. But I do run the kinds of programs that benefit from a fast graphics card and high quality 3D acceleration; programs like Adobe Photoshop, Aftereffects, Premier, Davinci Resolve, Corel Draw, Blender and Maya. Graphics cards wouldn't be 1/10 of what they are without gaming driving the development of real-time rendering. Or... they probably would exist. But would be several times more expensive. The reason we have the capabilities at the price point we have is because of the demands of gaming PCs. THAT was the driving force behind the market.
Retro game collecting has been booming since COVID and a lot of shops that do more than just games, like this one, have ended up shrinking their game section because just more goes out than comes in.
It just gets worse I remember waiting in line at midnight so excited for so many games now there are hardly any games to be excited about and everything is trending towards digital “ownership”
There is a GameStop down the street from me. I really miss going in there and browsing the shelves, perhaps stumbling across a game you never knew exists. Fun video. Maybe make more like it.
We had a game stop shut down 2 years ago and turned into a game store similar to the last one you visited, but without the music and it seems to be doing well. They have 2 consoles setup to play and a classic pac-man arcade cabinet. One quarter gets you as far as you can get.
Dude!! If you’re ever up in Canada, find yourself a Microplay before they go extinct! My favourite one in Ottawa closed down just before pandemic, but I owe the manager from there a big high-five! Went in there one day and basically asked “what’s good?!” I’d been a customer there many times before, so the dude knew what I liked… long story short, I came out with Binding of Isaac (never heard of it before that day) and it’s now one of my most played games on the Switch! Microplay seems to sadly be going the way of blockbuster, but if you find yourself in Ottawa, we’ve still got one and the dude there is just as awesome! Last I was there they had a bucket of $3 used 3DS games on the counter. Got myself Lego movie and Lego pirates of the Caribbean lol
these new videos where youre going to gamestop and stuff are great, been a fan since you first started way back when, glad to see francis videos again to.
I went into gamestop last in fall 2021, not for a game, but because they had a Kit Fisto lightsaber that I wanted, and I prefer to buy things from stores rather than online. I learned my lesson in my early teens not to trust Gamestop for games, you could get a new gamegame sealed in box and it wouldn't work, but if you returned it you couldn't get your money back or a trade in for one that worked.
It's been years since I've been in a GameStop. Back in 2009 they used to sell energy drinks, snacks, and have midnight preorder events. Even had an Army representation with a Hummer and a TV inside the hummer when Call of Duty 2 Modern Warfare 2 came out. But now GS has lost its spark. Feels more like a Otaku store not a game store. Miss the good ol days.😢

Really liked the vid Boogie. That vintage game store reminds me of a store In Nashville Tennessee except the one in Nashville Is bigger with 2 floors too!
Also for GEN Z, CDs are like polaroids, and also provide physical medium they aren't as used to. For the first time in a while a few years back CDs actually went up
I'm not sure I'd trust a Retron 5 to actually play my carts given the questionable build quality of the cart slots, I'd worry plugging and unplugging them all the time might wear them more unevenly than a licensed console, but they're pretty good for dumping your carts on to your PC. All you need is some custom firmware put on an SD card and a usb-mini B to usb-A cable.
When I lived in Tucson, AZ I used to go to a store called Bookmans that trades in vintage stuff like that Vintage Stock store you showed. Man I was tempted to spend my whole savings in there on retro gaming lol. Sadly where I live now only has a store called Second and Charles which barely has any old games and is mostly old books which I'm not interested in. That store was the one plus side to living in the desert of Arizona.
I hope you continue doing these videos Boogie. You know a lot about videogames and you need to use that knowledge. No one needs drama when everyone has a lot going on in their lives as well.
Retro game trader in Hillsboro Oregon and Bullmoose in Maine are the two best independent type stores I’ve been to. Stores like that putting out GameStop is great news! Retro game trader has a massive section for switch games and all the older consoles people are getting back into. GameStop gave up on anything older a while ago.
The GameStop in my town in Arkansas closed down a while ago it was so sad 😭 knew a couple of guys who worked there and they were fantastic in helping get great deals
That big pop was my hero academia, not dragon ball. Also, you should've snagged that hero quest if you don't already own it. Best table top game ever made. That retro place was awesome. I like that it had comics. GameStop seemed just the same as always, complete garbage and no deals. Haven't stepped into one in many years tbh
Vintage Stock and other store chains they own such as EntertainMart, V-Stock, and MovieCo are in more States than just Arkansas they are in Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Illinois, Nebraska, and New Mexico. In fact the company was founded and is headquartered in Joplin Missouri
Loving seeing you getting out and about boogie, and I'm really happy that you haven't fumbled the opportunity that boxing gave you, glad to see you're uploading consistently still and doing your thing.your looking great too, keep up the great work my friend 😁great video too 🙏
We have vintage stock in the st louis area. Great store. I still collect cds and there are even facebook groups still dedicated to buying and selling them.

Gamestop shut down its stores in Finland back in 2020. It was a place a lot of people went to, but overtime it became a store for toys and merch but not the actual games so it became unpopular.
I've been enjoying the content lately. Also cool that we live in the same state, I'm just on the east corner. Also, I've struggled with my weight my whole life. I can relate.
I love this video! I know there are quite a few underground game shops in NW Arkansas and SW Missouri also. In fact, the midwest has a lot of retro gaming gems.
I’m in the minority but I honestly like the video game toys and collectibles. When I was a kid I remember getting a Major’s Mask figure (Link riding Epona) from an EB GAMES. When it became gamestop, they stopped selling toys. It brings back nostalgia
My local Gamestop is still up and running. GameStop has a long way to go before it goes out of business. There will always be a market for physical games, accessories, and memorabilia.
This is the kind of content i subbed to you for back in the day; gaming content.

Its just super interesting content

Boogie I would love to watch you visit local thrift stores looking for games while you do this same type of video.
I absolutely loves how 1 on 1 this entire video felt. It was as though you were being a friend just showing us a cool spot.

gamestop will become pawnstop, everything is online now
I wish I had documented so many things, these days. Now that I’m older I suddenly care about what I never used to care about.
Same, it sucks when you're young how you don't think about the future or what you'll miss. I would have documented and kept everything I bought.
Anyone remember Funcoland? I actually went to my local GS a day ago. picked up a switch game.
